I accidentally forgot to pick up my dry cleaning today and the owner was kind enough to drive back in almost two hours after closing to get it to me because I absolutely had to have it before leaving for a work event in the morning. Military Alterations and Cleaners ONE STOP SHOP! **TIP** They are on the backside of the building along Route 175. *** I have been to a few cleaners and alteration shops throughout my Military life and this one is among the best of them. My most recent occurrence here finally made me get on Yelp to brag about these miracle stitching pro's. When I told the cute little Asian owner they were on Yelp, she proudly stated, "We have 5 star service!" She couldn't be more right! So...... So maybe I might occasionally procrastinate, just sometimes. My Marine Corps Ball is tomorrow(Friday), and I decided it would be a good idea to try my uniform on this past Monday. I think from sitting in my closet this past year my Blues shrunk a little, both my pants and jacket, right around the waste size. :) Anyway, I finally got around on Wednesday night to taking my uniform and the wife's dress to this shop. End sum, a job they had projected to be finished Friday, they actually finished for me today(Thursday) and everything looks better than great. These ladies are super friendly and do a fantastic job. I payed $72 bucks and I am not sure how that ranks on the expense scale because I got a dress, pants and jacket dry cleaned as well as the pants and jacket altered; key point being all in 1 day. So while it seems a little steep in price, I am pretty sure I got my money's worth considering the expedition of them finishing my order. If you are in need of a quick fix, or clean and rely on proficiency and sewing expertise this is the place for you. My husband had just gotten back a suit jacket and pants tailored and dry cleaned at Soon Cha's tailor shop and we are very impressed with the quality of work she did on it. My husband needed the jacket and pants to be taken in at the waist, along with having the sleeves and pant legs shortened. Her stitching was so fine that it blended in with the original stitching of the suit seamlessly. She matched the thread color on the inside and outside of the suit, which is a surprise since most tailors just care to do it for the outside. What I also love and is unique about her store is that she has a dressing room so when you bring in any outfit to be tailored, you can try it on and she can mark the adjustments when it is on you. I feel that ensures better accuracy and communication on what you want to be tailored, as well as what suggestions she has and what realistic changes can be made to any garment Her store really is a diamond in the rough, it is small and located in an inconspicuous mini strip-mall outside of Fort Meade. However, she has all the equipment and set up of an expert tailor, a professional sewing machine set up with at least 2 walls of colored thread, a dressing room and spot with a full length mirror and stand for clients. Having done some research on the cost of professional tailors, if you can get a suit tailored by a real tailor for under $100, you are getting an amazing deal. Also, when it comes to suits, do not rush a tailor because it is actually a very detailed and involved process to get the alternations done just right. Allow them as much time as they need. That being said, we actually got the suit back in less than a week and considering how detailed of a job she did, that is amazing. We would highly recommend her, she turned an off the rack, generic suit into something that fit and looked like a custom made suit for my husband. read more

I first went to this establishment back in 2001 when I had returned from Germany. I took my Army uniforms there. They were always crisp and on time. The people are friendly and efficient. Later on I still go there. I live in Baltimore and have had hit and miss with shops up there. This place is close to work , but still a little out of my way. Worth it! Now that I am getting suits and overcoats cleaned and altered this is still my place. An excellent job and a fair price. The best dry cleaners are always, always not too far from the gates of a military base! read more

In order to get to Soon Cha, you have to drive in the back of the North Odenton Plaza off of 175. They have relatively good hours as well as prices. I took my uniforms in to get tailored and dry cleaned and the turn-around was around 5 days. Customer service was outstanding! They took their time to take measurements and they even have a chart so that they can ensure they're putting on your chevrons correctly. Based on the awards and vast amount of chevrons in a tub, they've been catering to military personnel for quite some time. Will defintley be using them for all my tailor and dry cleaner needs. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE I had a formal jumpsuit tailored here last year and they did a good job. However, yesterday I picked up a pair or slacks that I dropped off to have hemmed. First, for only the hem, the price was a bit much but as I didn't want to drive anywhere else and had a good experience before I decided to go with them. When I arrived home I tried on the pants. The hem was fine but as soon as I went to zip the pants the zipper got stuck and broke. These are brand new pants - never worn. I had tried them on before I took them to Sooncha to determine if the blouse I planned to wear them with worked. No issue with the zipper. As soon as I get them back from this tailor the zipper breaks. I show up there first thing in the morning. The new hours are from 8an but at 10 after 8 the store was still closed and no one had arrived to open. I eventually had to leave. I went back after work. As I walk in the man that works there is passed out asleep and doesn't move. I go to the two ladies at the tailor counter to explain the situation. They stated they only touched the hem and didn't do anything to the zipper. I believe that perhaps someone mistakenly began on the zipper, then realized that was not the order, fixed the hem and left me with a rigged closed and broken zipper (which costs a lot more to repair that a hem). Or broke it when they attempted to close it. The zipper was closed when I received the pants and was open when I dropped it off (as I had tried them on). Their denial wasn't the issue. It was their denial along with their dismissive attitudes. Shrugging of shoulders and general disregard for a customer. There was no offer to repair it at a reduced price or even regular price. They may as well have said not our problem - good bye. No attempt to keep a customer shows what they think of customers. The worst customer service ever! I was in my military uniform (the uniform they charged me over $10 to dry clean). Zips is much cheaper and faster. I think these people are trying to make up for the loss revenue after military personnel stopped dry cleaning uniforms as much as with the previous uniforms. Their prices are outrageous which is one thing but the customer service is the worst! I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS PLACE. read more

I'm a DC guy who works a few miles from a little hell hole called Odenton which lies in East Bumblefuck between DC and Baltimore. Alterations are expensive in DC and the quality isn't always comparable with the price. So, someone at work recommended a drive to a little gem of a store in the middle of a not-so-nice area. Now, the parking lot is located in back and isn't exactly safe so lock your doors because people will break into your car. It happens there a lot according to the guy working at the Chinese Restaurant next door to the tailor shop/cleaners. There are homeless folks living in a tent behind the store doing all kinds of illegal things. You can see them from the parking lot in plain day and I'm not sure why the local police allow this to happen in a business district? However, the tailoring is extraordinary and worth the risk. Quality of work exceeds price compared to the neighboring DC and Baltimore area(s). I bring my shirts to have them tapered at great prices - $15/shirt. This would cost almost twice as much in the DC area. This isn't just for military people who work in Ft. Meade; that is, the tailor does very well with civilian clothes, as well. The Asian owner can't speak English well so be prepared to point at what you want done. She's never let me down and I'm very picky with tailoring. She's a true artist with civilian clothes, a very hard worker and I hope the store stays in business for years to come. She recut several of my suits when I lost weight. They fit like a glove. I'm inclined to deduct stars for the area being sketchy, but do not want to detract from the quality of work for the price paid so leave the rating at five stars. Just know this isn't the best area for those travelling from DC or Baltimore. read more

I had several issues with this place. I was out here on a business trip and I took a uniform in to get alterations done, when I went to pick it up, it was not ready. After I waited for another 30 minutes, the name tapes were so far out of regulations that was not able to wear them. The font was wrong and I needed to have the work redone. My husband and I had heard good things about this place from several people so I thought we'd give it a shot. Though they are not the fastest nor the cheapest cleaners around, they are BY FAR the best! I have a favorite black suit that needed to be dry cleaned (along with other suits that needed dry cleaning/tailoring). The black suit jacket has had a bit of a makeup stain around the collar for years now. Even after multiple dry cleans, the stain was never gone. I thought the stain was permanent until I went to Soon Cha. I did not point out the collar. I didn't mention anything special about any of my suits - just that they needed to be cleaned. When I picked up my suits, I was shocked! My favorite jacket looked brand new! No stain to be found!! Thank you Soon Cha for your outstanding work. I will be a return customer. read more

I just had my first experience getting a shirt tailored here, and I was very pleased with the job they did. This was a cheap shirt I ordered online and ended up too boxy for my liking, but was going to be a hassle to return it, and would've cost more than the price of the shirt. I decided to put that extra cost toward tailoring it and that's when this place came up in my google results. After reading reviews I decided to try it for myself. I first started going here back in the late '80s to have patches and insignia sewed onto my Army uniform when I was in the Active Reserves. I have since left the Reserves, but for many years taken all of my sewing needs her. I've had pants hemmed, clothes drycleaned and even my grandmother's handmade quilt re-sewn here. They always do an excellent, speedy job and are all very friendly. I love this place and highly recommend it to everyone. There are other choices in the area, but I never consider them. In fact I plan to go there today to take four pairs of pants to get hemmed. read more
