It had a large section covered with something black (some kind of mold maybe?) that I had tried numerous times to remove with my own pressure washer, and was never able to get rid of it. Jimmy didn't try to hurry the job, and instead meticulously went over each section of the driveway until it was perfect. Tom Brown (owner) is a liar and a thief, and…read morewe spent five months of our lives trying to get our money back from him while he ignored our texts, calls, and emails. Do not trust this man, and take your business somewhere else. We hired NTB Construction to install recessed lighting and a new drywall ceiling in our living room. We paid Tom a deposit of $2863.16. The day he was supposed to start, he emailed us that the materials had not arrived yet, and that he would have to delay the start date. On the new start date, he emailed us again, saying that one of his guys had tested positive for COVID, and that they were shutting down operations for a few days. The next excuse was a blown out tire on his truck and then the next day it was a different truck issue. Then his final excuse that he gave on October 2nd, 2023 was that his father had passed away that weekend, and he would not be able to complete the project. The job was supposed to take two weeks, and instead we got two weeks worth of excuses. We later found another review of him on Yelp where another customer in Syracuse, NY had a similar experience, stating that Tom had told her that he had lost his father the weekend of December 1st, 2023, two months after he had told us the same story. NTB Construction of 617 Irving Ave, Endicott, NY had the lowest estimate, contracted Tom Brown of NTB to do the work. He wanted 40% down to get on the schedule. The work was to start middle of November. He sent an invoice and had me deposit $1250 directly into his account. Contacted him mid November to see when he would be there, responded the it would be after Monday after Thanksgiving. Monday after Thanksgiving, contacted Tom Brown to see when he would be there, said no sense starting the job on a Thursday, said it would be the week after. Contacted Tom Brown the next Monday and he said his father had passed away that Friday, it would be after the holidays. My home was under contract so I found another contractor who could do the work the next week, no deposit required for them. Contacted Tom Brown yet again and told him that I could not wait until the next year to get this done and asked for my deposit to be returned. He told me deposits were non refundable and he wouldn't be returning any money. Went back to Angi and they offered binding arbitration but NTB declined. Angi took him off their list and I am still out $1250. I have wondered if this is his business model, where he requires a 40% deposit and just postpones continuously until you have to get someone else and then he keeps your money. DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN YOUR TRUST OR YOUR MONEY! I can't speak to the quality of his work because I don't believe he does any, he didn't do any work for me. As to the value, how much value does a shyster have? I gave one star because he answered my phone call, although I would have been $1250 better off if he hadn't.
