The store is one level and has wheelchair shopping trolleys and motorised ones. Every shelf in Morrison's supermarket is full unlike a lot of others that leave empty boxes rather than gaps. Morrison's also stock the widest range of products than any other supermarket in Selby. Inside you will find well stocked fish, fresh meat and deli counters. There is an in store bakery that bake bread and pies though out the day. There is a large salad table with take-a-away tubs which you fill yourself. In addition there is an in store Cafe that cook the meals while you wait rather than serve heated food. Whether you use Morrison's as your main weekly shop it is well worth a weekly visit for their offers that are usually half price or near. Morrison's often hold raffles for charity, hold art competitions and celebrate charitable evens in store.

Rock One is located on Gowthorpe the main street in Selby next to Everett's furniture. There is…read morelimited car parking outside the shop but it is restricted to 30 mins. Rock One looks like quite a small shop from the outside but it rather suprising to see how far the shop goes back and just how much stock is kept in it. Rock One are a specialist shop selling walking and climbing gear in men's, ladies and children's sizes. While walking gear is not cheap, Rock One offer a good selection of branded goods at very competitive prices. There is an amazing selection of branded walking jackets, gilets and trousers, with walking boots, waterproofs, fleeces, hats and gloves. There is a wide selection of accessories including torches, flasks and heated pads, binoculars, and of course the good old conmpass. I buy my son's school and everyday jackets from Rock One as they are fashioable, waterproof and lined, and being a boy he loves the mini compass on the zip too!

The first ever Wilkinson was opened in Leicester in 1930, since those days over 300 more stores have opened across the country. The original formula of quality low cost products is still present but you will find some of the toys and things are a bit too plastic or cheap! Wilkinson's sell almost anything, from toiletries, DIY and minor repair equipment, garden plants, bulbs and accessories, furniture, beddings, toys and sweets, to mention but a few. Recently the Selby branch introduced food products, which are convenient and competitively prices with the likes of Home Bargains. The current recession will probably push Wilkinson's forward as we are all looking to spend less.

As mentioned, the prices are great and although the mens section is much smaller compared to the ladies it does still seem to ram in a massive amount of clothes. I have to say 90% of it isn't to my tastes at all and some looks a little cheap (yeah i know they are cheap but doesn't mean they have to look it!) but if you search hard enough you will find something you like i'm sure. The staff are a miserable bunch on the whole and are usually found behind the till but for a store like this you don't expect exceptional service so they do the job nicely. All in a all a good shop for Selby and some nice bargains to be had if you look hard enough.

Peacocks arrived in Selby when the new shopping area opend in the 1990's adding their department store look. The Selby branch has become quite sucessful with little in their way of competition for the up-to-the fashion low price trends. We have the New Look store in Selby but they are significally more expensive. As far as products, they cater for men, women and children, in clothing, shoes, Underwear, sleep wear and accessories. I tend to buy quite a few pair of jeans there that start from about £5 and wash well! Peacocks are postioned well, in a busy walk-way with Wilkinsons and now the new Sainsbury's store next to them. Although we are now entereing difficult financial times, I think more discerning customers are being savvy with their money and will seek out stores like Peacocks that are offering a one-stop-shop for fashion on the cheap.

Selby Shoe repairs used to be located within the 'In shops' complex now Home Bargains from the early 1980's. Even going back them the Selby Shoe repairs has always has a good name for honesty and expertise, which I can vouch for with the endless keys I have lost and several shoe repairs later. The staff are jolly and full of banter. A good solid established business with plenty of customers.

Within the store you will find products that range from hair, face treatments, toiletries, mother and babythe list goes on. In the last couple of years the brand name has zoomed-in on fashion, youth and vibrant colours and store layouts. Innovative new products and film and pop star endorsements have seen Superdrug a major sponsor of Fashion Week. Fast on the heels of Boots, Superdrug are narrowing the gap in the market share as they are substantially cheaper, and us savvy shopper do shop with our feet! The Selby Branch lacks the colour and lustre of the larger stores but its cheap and cheerful!

It is quite a large branch of the national company offering quite an extensive range of ladies separates, coats, sleep wear and some lingerie. It has to be said that Bon Marche is very affordable with jumpers easily found for under £20 and Coats start for under £30, so you can see there are bargains. The only draw back is a lot of the clothing is aimed at an older market of say 50 plus, but that doesn't mean that there are not some good classic items for every ones wardrobe. The size range is wide and caters well for oversize which is completely missed by the rest of Selby. Bon Marche has a good reward card system and an exclusiveness that offers card holder special reductions.

There is quite a lot of fashionable girls wear which is cheap but it tends to be often poorly made and quite tackysorry.. but on the plus side its great for youngsters who want something to wear as a one off say to a party. Tots N Teens also stock a wide range of school wear for all the local schools, which is cheaper but the colours are not quite right, especially the reds (speaking from experience). There is a good range of christening gowns, shoes and hats that look nice. Also just in is a range for Rainbows, Brownies and Guides. I recently brought the Rainbows uniform and it washes and tumble drys lovely. The staff are OK but not the most friendlyLOL was that put delicately enough?

Clark's is not a very large store but surprisingly enough finds room to stock a good selection of ladies, men's and children's shoes, slippers, bags and cleaning products. Being Clark's you know the shoes are well made and the returns service if required is good. At the bottom of the store is the children's area where you can get your Little ones feet measured. There are also a few very clean toys to entertain them too. I buy most of the children's shoes here as it not as busy as the bigger branches and even if a style is not in stock they can be ordered in within a couple of days. The staff are friendly and helpful.

I visited this shop last week with my daughter and fifteen month old granddaughter I wanted to buy…read moreher shoes as she had started walking the assistant measured her feet but the shoe we liked was not in stock so they said would get from another store. This was done and we went on Monday 29th May , Bank Holiday to get shoes checked for fitting and to collect. The shop was busy but there was no system to being attending to and the assistants appeared more interested in carrying out a conversation with each other at the till. The assistant who did eventually attend to us was quite abrupt and a little impatient with my granddaughter she fitted the shoes saying that one foot was bigger than the other so the shoes fitted the larger foot better this was in spite of the fact the assistant who measured previously said her feet were the same size which she said was unusual we said that's not what we had been told by previous assistant and she snapped back at us saying no ones feet are the same size and that we had been given the wrong information on our first visit..The price was the shoes was never given to us till we had to pay which again was a queue and no apparent system . My little granddaughter in the meantime had soiled her nappy and the assistant appeared to be quite appalled as the look on her face said a thousand words. I was returning to Scotland the next day and had this not been the case I would not have given my custom to the shop as it was not child friendly or even adult friendly.. I know it was Bank Holiday and no one likes working but as a Retired Matron it has to be done when serving the public. Perhaps some staff training would be appropriate. I am sorry to say won't shop there again or recommend I bought my own children's shoes in Clark's and shop there myself but this is not one of the stores I will return too
