I been coming here for Chinese holidays supplies. What I like about is the owner and employees are very helpful. Also, owner help to get unpopular items I needed very Chinese New Year holiday, that doesn't carry in other stores. She gets this items for me every year without me asking for it. I am very grateful. They carried most of the items I needed and price is more reasonable than other places. Parking is free on street, side of building and behind building. read more

Visited to pick up some joss paper and incense. Didn't know which to get bc there's so many varieties. The guy was nice with his explanation and not pushy in sales. Not sure in regards to price comparison but Will definitely be back for future purchases. read more

Despite the name changes, this shop has been around for quite some time. It's a small little shop that's filled with different items that you'd probably need for your prayers and ceremony uses. They have street parking which is usually pretty easy to find; either on the main street or the side street. They also have a small lot in the back that's accessible through Ivar Ave. From incense to joss paper, they have all the Buddhist supplies that you'd need such as god/goddess statues and even the joss burning containers. Typically, we buy incense sticks, the gold and silver joss paper, and the red candles. On special occassions, we also buy the paper clothes, paper food, fake money, and even the "every day essentials". The staff is pretty nice and helpful. The lady came by to ask if we had any questions about the items that we were purchasing. Since it is a Chinese shop, be prepared that they will most likely speak Chinese to you. read more

Recently visited B&R per a recommendation from my best friend. I was looking for 2 beaded bracelets that I could gift to close friends of mine and my friend recommended that I visit B&R. Upon entering I was greeted warmly by the owner who was incredibly helpful. I told her what I was looking for and she showed me a wide variety of the beaded bracelets that she carried. She showed me stone bracelets as well as wooden bracelets. She carried a wide variety and there were so many different styles and sizes to choose from. I was looking for 2 bracelets to gift to a couple, a man and a woman. The owner showed me the different styles and sizes and helped me to narrow down my search. She was extremely thorough and even allowed me to try the bracelets on to compare the fits among the different bracelets. At the end I opted for 2 black stone bracelets. I was so happy with the service that I received here! The owner was so nice and helpful and made this process so easy for me. She even explained how to bless the bracelets since that was something I told her I intended on doing. Thanks so much B&R! read more

I came here to look for traditional prayer/ceremonial items recommended by a friend. The owners here are really nice and will really help you out especially if you're new/not as knowledgable about ceremonial items. The owner really walked us through each item, and what she would recommend based on what we wanted and what our budget was. She even gave us advice and instructions on what to do with each item in detail during our funeral arrangement services. Some of the employees can speak English, but mainly their comfort language is mandarin and cantonese. There's street parking and a small parking lot on the side of the stores (only for 1 hour though), which should be more than enough time to get what you need. read more

Regarding the negative review, the idiot did not look at the picture containing the store hours. --------------------------------------------- ***special note*** There was a language barrier. I was able to understand their language, but could not communicate back in the same manner. The husband tried his best to explain in English. On a different note, my grandma passed away and I needed more variety of square joss papers (same measurement on all sides). As I walked in, I was greeted by the owner and was later asked by owner's wife if I needed help because she saw me having a hard time choosing the joss papers. After making my selections and as I was about to pay, I asked the husband if my selections were appropriate for my grandmother's funeral. He explained that most of what I had selected were NOT appropriate for grandmother's funeral and put them back on the shelf for me. Great customer services. My brother recently passed away and I was going through a lot of hard time. I didn't know what to get for him. Connie and her husband who speak english told us exactly what we need to get for him on the vuewing/burial. I pray and send those joss paper everyday for my brother so I usually go there every Sunday. Small little place but they have everything you need in there.
