Indoors is just as awesome. The space is very big, nicely lit, thoroughly organized, and perfectly cool thanks to air conditioning. We easily spent an hour browsing, or rather, I spent an hour browsing, and my mom happily stayed in the art section. I swear I didn't only pick book covers with warm color palettes on purpose. However, when I was at the counter, I was encouraged to pick out a free bookmark not once, but twice. Naturally, I obliged. While I quite like my rugged cowboy bookmark, you might be pleased to know that other options included dames and aliens.

After he mentioned it, I looked it up on Yelp and was pleasantly surprised by the reviews. This is a cute bookstore! The prices are unbeatable! I wanted the Twilight book set for a gift and found it here, for a lot cheaper than other places. The set was in great condition too. The bookstore is very organized and clean. It was pretty easy to navigate the store and find books. Service was good too. The person offered to help us look for what we wanted. I would come back here for more books in the future.

In their glass case, they currently have a Bruce Lee book in their collector's section that I really want, but you know my son's gotta eat and we can eat books. The service has and consistently is highly knowledgeable, patient, and welcoming to not just us, but to all who walk in. The value is = or better than Barnes and Nobles because they have point systems and 2 x a year, the local's favorite..."The Fire Sale!" Although this is not like the Standard in New York, it is definitely top 3 of my favorite book stores of all time.

There are two ways to get to this small book shop, one is to walk past the main entrance of the library and go down the stair case, or you can park on the west side of the library and enter under the large stair case. The store is tiny, but you can find some steals and bargains here. Make sure you come with plenty of time, patience and cash as they have quiet a bit to look through. About half of the items that are sold are old library items and the other half have been donated by people no longer wanting them. Books usually sell for $1, some are marked a little higher depending on how valuable they really are. The purpose of the Book Corner is to raise funds for more library programming. From what I can recall, the Friends of the Yorba Linda Public Library do give quiet a bit of money back to the library. The book corner has a couple of pretty large book sales every couple of months. These book sales get packed, but can secure you some awesome scores. They sell everything from books on CD, video games, records and books for all ages and subjects! Check them out and support your local library!

We almost resigned ourselves to standing in the back, but we were quickly and kindly ushered to a couch. Everyone who went up to the mic was so, so good. All genres were represented: poetry, fiction, nonfiction, children's, comics. Two people even gave rousing music performances. Many people read in Spanish, and every single person read with humor, heart, and honesty. There were a lot of laughs and a lot of tears. The store truly is a safe space. Do I feel bad for not buying any books by Hispanic or Latino authors? A little bit... which is why I promise to come back and keep supporting this wonderful, beautiful, meaningful haven. I had planned to do some shopping too, but it was really crowded with other individuals dropping off donations (one woman that was so incredibly rude and pushed me and my stuff out of her way for absolutely no reason) and then also people coming to grab some items at the same time. The few items I did look at on my way out were priced a lot higher than I was expecting so I chose to go on about my day. I think I honestly just imagined a different experience, however it is nice they have this food pantry and it seems to help a lot of people.

Plus, she's 12 and should know better, period. The owners were very kind in gently explaining why it wasn't okay, and I appreciated that because their house, their rules! Kids need to understand that when you walk into someone's place of business--or even their home--you should be respectful and ask for permission or assistance before touching things. Again, thank you both for all the great recommendations and for being so kind about my pup, who was on a leash and wearing a diaper to ensure there were zero accident possibilities. Our pup loved you guys! She's usually a little shy at first, but she walked right up to both of you. Dogs know. We'll definitely be back to check out some of the games you have when we have more time to browse. Like I said, we came right before closing, and even though it's a business, everyone wants to go home after work, and we respected that. No attitude, no pressure--just two kind business owners doing what they love.

When I asked about it, there was zero explanation because really everyone knows that's nonsense and how can anyone explain silliness. At the very least, they need to disclose the extra made-up charges and fees that aren't assumed by the customer. That's a real good way to break trust. I will never do business there again. I don't like charges that take advantage of people no matter how big or small. It's too bad.

Since they opened, I've been going to Gary and Cynthia's store at least once a month. They have a huge inventory of beautiful and unique things, like statues, rosaries, religious jewelry, cds, DVD's, Holy cards, veils, candles, medals, to name a few. They have a variety of books that are great! The moment you come in, you are greeted joyfully by Cynthia or Gary, and even their daughter, Francesca, who helps out. They are very helpful especially when you are looking for a gift. In fact, I've been buying this series of animated dvds called Brother Francis--which was suggested by Cynthia--for my 4-yr-old granddaughter who can't get enough of it! I also like that they have free Holy water and blessed salt always available for anyone who wants it. They have also been having guest speakers such as Kathleen Beckman from whose talk I learned a lot! I also got to meet Renee Bondi who autographed my books and cds several months ago. They now have Consoling the Heart of Jesus--a retreat--for the next 9 Tuesdays. If you haven't been to their store, you're missing a lot!! read more

I love this store!! The only problem is that I leave a lot of my money there!! Seriously, JMJ's is the best. They have a great selection of solid, faithful Catholic books, cds , and dvds, as well as Holy cards, statues, medals, rosaries, gift items, children's items, etc. They even have materials in Spanish. My girls beg me to take them to "The Catholic Store" every week. They love it too, and they're teenagers. Our favorite cute items are the "Tiny Saints" keychain charms and the little saints statues from the company Little Drops of Water. Cynthia and Gary are very friendly, faithful, and knowledgeable about the faith and about available items. They will help you find what you need, order items for you, answer questions, and always have time to chat. I go here for all my Catholic bookstore needs. read more

This store is awesome! It has everything you need and if you can't find something they will order it for you! I wanted a St. Leo medal and went in asking if they had it in store. Unfortunately, they did not, but they were able to order it at a very reasonable price and it arrive a week and a half later! I'm so happy with my purchase! They even allowed me to unwrap the replacement Bible in the store so I could check for any defects before leaving, which I really appreciated.
