This is not an honest dental facility. They scam people out of money by making them make several appointments for small things such as a cleaning and cavity. I had to go to another dentist to get my filling fixed that Bogota dental did improperly. I'm also not even positive I had a cavity I think they just wanted the money. Additionally, after my cleaning they put on some ointment (without asking me) that they charged me $60 for. I will never go back. read more

I've come here for a couple of years and I can't say how happy I am with the service here. I've had my Invisalign done here and my primary dentist was usually Dr. Pole. She's super friendly and is great at what she does. All of my family comes here and we barely have any complaints. When I come to the office to check in, I usually wait around 10-15 minutes before the dentist is ready to see me. They fairly to get busy in the afternoon so I advise those to make their appointments early in the morning. read more

I've been misguided by this office concerning the work I had done which includes veneers. i want to say that they said their work would be guaranteed for life and then they came up with a different story after. I have had to go back there five times in 4 years. I can't get them to guarantee their work anymore plus their prices are outrageous. The lady that takes care of the credit is overly nice in her attempt to get the most money out of me. I have been lied to by this establishment from the beginning. At this point in time and having read all the other bad reviews I am going to contact the better Business Bureau. It may be located conveniently right off the highway but it is highway robbery. I have been a patient of Bogota Dental for about 20 years. My husband, children and parents have all been patients of the practice. Dr. Sherzoy is simply put, the best! The practice is so up to date and they deliver the most excellent care . They do this all while still maintaining a warm and caring feel. My husband and I had dental implants over the last couple of years and they are perfect. We now go to the Totowa office . The absolute worst dental practice I've ever been too. Was quoted to pay $75.00 for cement in a crown which just fell out. When Dr. Sherzoy examined said tooth broke off at gum line and ordered an xray. After looking at xray he said nerve was OK. Proceeded to tell me I needed a post and crown, at which point I told him my regular dentist wasn't available today and I just wanted it cemented in temporarily. He said couldn't be done. Conversation ended abruptly. I was then told I had to pay $75.00 even though the crown wasn't cemented in and only had one xray. I felt that it was overcharging me, since doctor probably spent about 4 minutes with me. The finance woman went to check it out with Dr. Sherzoy and he said I had to pay the $75.00. She also gave me an estimate of what he wanted to do, $1800.00 for one crown and a post!! I told her that was hundreds of dollars more than what I just paid another dentist. This dentist is money hungry in my opinion. Outrageous price for one crown. Plenty of other dentists around, would stay away from this practice unless you get you estimates from other dentists. I thought I had found a very good neighborhood dentist but I was in for a rude surprise. I will not be going back there. While they are up to date in their procedures and care, their office is pathetic. I was told I had to pay for the portion of the dental insurance they did not receive because of their erroneous filings of the paperwork. I had paid for my share promptly after the treatment and to be told later to pay another large amount because of their errors is unacceptable business practice. I went to Bogota Dental for a couple of years. Very friendly and clean. I had many visits and many comebacks for work that was not correct. I spent many hours and thousands dollars at this office. Today all the post and crown work has broken or fallen out. The only thing that is left in my mouth are two partial dentures. I should have listened to other reviews Bogota Dental Center is money hungry dental office stay away. I had a cleaning done and asked why I did not have x-rays completed at that time during the exam. Tanya's response was that she didn't know but I needed to wait additional 6 months till my next cleaning. Due to the insurance "frequency", I suspect they are just trying the save costs. If patient requests an x-ray that should have been completed 3 months ago, it should not be an issue. You should find friendlier face than Tanya as your billing coordinator. There was no justification for why I could not have the x rays completed during my visit. I will be going elsewhere after my experience today. read more

I have never been someone who has liked going to the dentist. In fact, I've avoided it way too much for my own well being. A few months ago, I finally went for a cleaning and evaluation at a new dentist in cliffside park and was given a laundry list of things I needed to take care of that totaled $13,000! If you can imagine my state of panic and worry over how I could afford so much work, you'd understand completely why I procrastinated and did nothing at all. Some few months later I received a piece of direct mail from Bogota Dental offering second opinions at a low cost so I figured it couldn't hurt. I went for an appointment in the evening after work at 6 pm and was expecting a staff that would be tired and grouchy and looking to go home. Instead I got the exact opposite! The staff was incredibly friendly and inviting with such positive attitudes from the receptionist to the dental hygienist Sonia who talked me through all of the evaluations and x-rays she was doing. Their state of the art equipment was quite an experience. The coolest of which is what I would call a "selfie-stick" of dentistry that allowed me to see everything the dentist noticed in actual live photos beyond just an incoherent digital x-ray. Dr. Pole was great and made me feel very comfortable with everything she uncovered. After my evaluation it was after 7 and closing time but their office manager Angela was even kind enough to review my insurance coverage with me and what I could roughly expect out of pocket. What was only six months ago a financial crisis was now only $3,000 before insurance (about half of which I could expect to pay out of pocket). That's over an $11,000 savings! It's great to know i have found a dentist that isn't just a solution looking for a problem. I've never left a dental office in my life feeling like I found a place I could call my dental home but that's exactly what I've found in Bogota Dentistry. I highly recommend anybody looking for a place where they can feel comfortable and not dread going in for routine visits/work to check this place out- especially if you need a second opinion! This is a complaint about their billing practices. The cosmetic work itself was also terrible. Mismatched and discolored teeth. . I had to pay another dentist a small fortune to have them fix the bad work. The billing issue is beyond horrendous.... I paid upfront for dental work which included among many things, an implant, x-rays, filling removal and replacement, root canal, a temporary flipper, porcelain crowns and teeth whitening. It was $5691.00 in total. I have a copy of the contract marked paid in full and the accompanying credit card payment receipt. I paid in full before the work even began. 2 years later after setting foot for the last time in their office, I received a bill for over $1200.00. I immediately sent a letter with a copy of the paid in full invoice. I heard nothing back, so assumed the error was corrected. One year later, I received another bill, this time for $1300.00! I was also informed by my old insurance company that they received new bills from them for procedures that were 2 years old. They were denied because they were either paid before, denied before because the doctor failed to submit requested information or they were past the filing deadline. They also added charges from my son's old visit who hadn't been there for years. This time, I followed up with a much more terse letter, with a copy of the contract marked paid in full, copy of the payment and my previous letter. I told them I didn't owe this bill and to stop trying to collect this from me. Once again, I heard nothing for a whole year. Now four years after I set foot in the office for the last time, they have billed me again. For different amounts and treatments, once again. I sent a very strong letter making it perfectly clear that I owe nothing, I will not be paying anything and their billing practices were at best, sloppy or worse, fraudulent. 3 months later they sent a long, rambling and inconsistent letter. They first stated that the contract didn't include a bone graft that was performed and my insurance company won't pay for it. Now they've tacked on a tooth eruption, maintenance and composite resin charges. Yet my portion due is $200 less this time at $1017.00. To add insult to injury, they state as "courtesy" to me, they are reducing the bill by $300. 00. Every year, a new bill arrives, with different explanations, amounts, and procedures that I supposedly owe them. When I paid upfront, I was assured that the contract was for the full scope of the work I needed and the amount I paid upfront covered my entire portion. That's what I agreed to. That's what I signed up for. I don't know if they forgot to add the bone graph. Or the resin, or the tooth abruption. I don't even know if I had the bone graft or tooth eruption. I do know that if I did, then they should have been in the original contract we agreed on. How could those things not be? No crowns figured in? Bone graft? Really? It was agreed upon from day one that the contract included a complete restoration of my mouth. The terrible work that was done on my mouth, the reason for me never returning to their office in the first place, was completed and paid for. In full. Don't go to this place. UPDATED REVIEW: I went into the office on 3/22 which I didn't intend to but being it was so close to my employment and I was in severe pain I went.....After having x-rays and being examined it was determined I needed a root canal and *9* fillings...something didn't feel right so I decided to get my x-rays and get not 1 but 2 other opinions....1st off when asking for my x-rays the receptionist started asking me what I plan on doing with them and why am I in a rush to get them? ((I simply just asked if I can obtain a copy of my x-rays)) I told her I was going for a second opinion when she rolled her eyes and made me wait 30 minutes for copies as she was sitting there talking to a coworker not even dealing with patients....ANYWAY fast forward so now remember I went for 2 other opinions NOW BOTH dentists I saw were spot on they carefully reviewed my x-rays and also looked at my teeth and theyd LOVE to know where in the world this dentist who saw me ((I believe her name was Dr. mangey or something)) saw or added on 6 other cavities bc yes although I need the root canal I DO NOT NEED 6 additional fillings I only need 3.....CRAZY! this office is money hungry and I wish I knew now what knew back then when I gave these ppl my money! neverrrrrr again STAY CLEAR AND FAR AWAY!!!!!! read more

I have been coming to Bogota Dental for the past 5 or 6 years. Dr. Sherzoy and the staff are extremely polite and professional. The waiting area and patient rooms are clean and comfortable. The bathroom is also very clean as well. The parking lot however is limited. That's my only complaint. read more

Been there 3 times requesting to removed compound composite they put on my front teeth for a scratch of my childhood, that keep chipping. Finally they agreed to call me back with a resolution. Never heard from them. Now this wasn't Dr. Sherzoy, it was a young pretty girl maybe middle eastern or Indian. I finally tried another dentist, Dr.Greenberg right across the street from them and he easily fixed the scratch and extra stuff the young lady put in my mouth just by polishing my front teeth. Im happy now and will assure my friends don't deal with the inexperience and friendly ( I cant lie) staff of Dr. Sherzoy. They made my whole last year a miserable experiment of their own. read more

I really want to give ZERO star. Stay away from this place. I moved to New Jersey 2 years ago and needed a Dentist. So I found this place with their high tech office and TV in every room. Everyone that work there have perfect white teeth (veneers), that's a clue to stay away. They run their Dental practice like a Financial Istitute. Instead of going to the Dentist you feel like you getting a loan at a bank. I went to them for a cleaning and they decided to do unnecessary work ($3500.00) 2 years ago and I had to go to 2 other dentist to correct what Bogota Dental did in my mouth and as of today I still suffer from toothache that no one can figure out where it is coming from. If you want a great dentist go to Paul Sutton in Bloomfield NJ....he is the best!!!! read more

After speaking directly with the office's head dentist, Dr. Sherzoy (he called me upon seeing the original review), I was happy to see that he was personally showing some honest remorse on behalf of his practice. It was nice of him to call me and make sure that my grievances were directly addressed and (hopefully) rectified in the future. He took a second look at my x-rays, discussed my diagnosis, and offered a future course of treatment if need be. read more

Received a bill almost 2 years after my deep cleaning for additional money owed even though I went over the amount I would pay out of pocket with their finance department before the services and paid in full at the time of service. When I called to complain I was told by the woman in the finance department that she is new there and can not confirm or deny what was discussed with me at the time of service and that the amounts they provide are just estimates. That is the most ridiculous and unacceptable excuse I have ever heard. read more

Update and in response to Dr.: My insurance was billed $1500 and I paid $2200 out of pocket during one of your invisalign promotions. I was told it was going to be a total of $3700. Why would you try to bill my insurance again a year later for another $1500? It's called fraud. I didn't mention the time Dr. Pole had me in the office for 3 hours for a root canal and causing me intense pain. Or the time your office quoted me $4000 for an implant that I found somewhere else for $1500. Stay away from this office and make sure you are being billed correctly for your procedures!!! It all started with an inquiry to invisaligns due to a promotion they were having in August 2013. I was getting married in June 2014 and thought if I could get my profile to align for photos, it would be great. They scheduled me immediately. I met with the orthodontist and he explained to me that it will take up to 10-12 months for me to complete the process. He promised me that my profile would align. I declined because 10-12 months was cutting it close. I really didn't want to bother with them unless I would be fully completed by my wedding. Hours later, Angela from their office called me to tell me that the orthodontist promises to have me done by my wedding and they were going to throw in free whitening trays for the agreed amount of $3700 - $1500 which will be paid by my dental insurance and the rest out of my pocket. I confirmed with Angela, he will absolutely have me done by my wedding? She confirmed so I said ok. We scheduled my fitting when I was going for my next dental appointment. They fitted me then I had a cleaning and there were a few cavities. I came back to the office to have them filled and one of them became a root canal. I was in the dental chair for the root canal in immense pain for 3 hours because they can only give you so much novocaine which did not work at all!!!! The three hours were a waste because they couldnt complete my root canal and sent me to a specialist. When I returned to finish the other cavities, I asked abut the invisalign since it was obvious my teeth were reshaped. They said it shouldnt affect the invisaligns at all and filled my root canal with temporary filling and that I would complete the cap when I was done with the invisaligns. The winter came and the office kept closing due to snow storms and my appointments were cancelled quite often due to this or if there was a road block and I called to say i was running late there was immense amount of traffic, they said if I wasnt in by a certain time the dentist would not take me. I explained that he needed to because I was promised my invisaligns needed to be completed for my wedding. Apparently, it didn't matter and my appointments were cancelled. 4 months before my wedding, I voiced my concern that my profile still hadn't aligned and the orthodontist turned to me and said invisligns wont do that. You will need to have surgery for your jaw. I explained that he promised me that it would and he denied it. My invisaligns didn't fit correctly and they had to order more trays because they weren't moving correctly because of tooth filled with the temporary filling wasn't acting as an anchor. So this delayed the process and the end result, getting invisligns were pointless. We had a loss in the family right before my wedding and with the craze of the wedding, i just couldnt fight it. I didnt have it in me, I was mourning and overwhelmed. I let it go as a loss until...... They called me to get me in to finish my invisligns and to schedule my cleaning. I told them I will no longer be going their office. The infamous Angela, who initiated all these lies and chaos, decided to call me and tell me that I have an outstanding payment for my invisaligns. I told her that was not the case. I paid $2200 on my credit card and $1500 through my insurance. The total came out to $3700 as the agreed price of my invisaligns. I expressed how unprofessional and deceitful their office was. She rudely said that it was my fault for not expressing this earlier, when I did at every appointment directly to the orthodontist and the dental assistant. She replied that I didnt speak to her and this was the first time she was hearing about it. I asked her to please have the Doctor call me and she said she would. She asked me to send her to claim through my insurance company. I did immediately. She said we were even. That she wouldnt file additional charges for my invisaligns. I asked to speak to the dr and she said she will let him know. Afterwards, I explained reimbursing my money for the $2200 would be even since they already charged for insurance for services they did not complete. (Isn't this insurance fraud?) She then turned and said the dr was not in and I would not be able to speak to him. read more

Negative experience since day one. I never had a problem making appointments to simply clean my teeth with a hygienist until I came to Bogota Dental center. I dealt with Soli (hygienist) and Carla (manager) and several other staff members and every time I made an appointment it was cancelled or rescheduled over and over again. Their inability to schedule appt's and keep these appointments is outrageous. TO MUCH DRAMA FOR SUCH A SIMPLE TASK. Never again as life is to short to deal with careless non -professional individuals to just keep your teeth clean. Thank goodness there are other dental services out there!!! please note- the only reason I provided a star is because it would not allow me to post my comment without it. I made several complaints for approximately three months to Carla and expressed my dissatisfaction and she only made excuses. Today they cancelled my appointment with Soli again and they asked that I reschedule. OUTRAGEOUS. I tried my best to be a loyal customer but without reciprocation business relationships can never be successful. WASTE OF MY TIME. RESPONSE TO ANGELA: Here we go someone not taking ownership. I used to be a patient here about 2 years ago, after every visit I found it odd that I had to sit down with someone in an office and discuss what I owe and what I will be owing in the future. I was always overwhelmed and clearly told them that my insurance company should handle this. I will always get random bills for work they did and a long technical mumbo jumbo explanation. Today I got another bill from them saying I owe 35.00 from something that was done in 2013, I find this place to be very shadey and poor business practices. They seem to randomly pull bills out of their @##. I will highly suggest not even starting with this place, trust me you will be stuck with them for years after. I'm originally from PA and had been traveling to my dentist I had since I was a kid, until recently when he suffered a stroke so I had to find a new practice. My neighbor referred me here so I decided to give it a try. I saw Dr. Sherzoy for my initial consultation and he was great. Turns out I needed a deep cleaning and almost all of my silver filings replaced. Dr. Pole replaced 7 fillings over 2 sessions and I just cannot say enough about her. She was so nice, so patient and very personable. I immediately felt the trust you need to have between a patient and a doctor. Her assistant and all of the staff are absolutely wonderful.
