You just name it and it's probably happening here, constant littering, no one gives a flying f*ck about staying clean, respecting the environment, or recycling or anything. There are foul ignorant people, pushers and what not practically out every night having "BBQ" drinking parties and the evidence is out in the open for everyone to see the next morning, blackened fire circles and campfires, beer cans, bottles and plastic cups everywhere, broken tree branches, degraded walking paths and more open spaces when before it was entirely covered in bushes and grass, cigarette butts, plastic bags, plates and it seems to take the City of Verdun days to clean up after every Friday and Saturday night blowout. Do people not understand the concept of taking everything out that you brought in and to leave no trace of yourself behind? Instead they seem to think the river is one giant latrine and the parks and hiking trails and riverside is their personal garbage dump. And what really gets me angry is that the "Well" ie Wellington avenue has all these useless police cadets walking and biking up and down the street when really they would be better off patrolling the riverside. HINT to the Police Department: you can generate more money and income by issuing tickets to these people littering the riverside and degrading the landscape than you can with parking tickets.

It has lots of land, tennis courts, outdoor pool, baseball diamond, skate park, splash pads, public washrooms, trees for shade, bike paths. It's almost a secret because it's not crowded. It even has views of Montreal skyline! Great place to enjoy the outdoors in the city.

Vieux-Montréal, or Old Montreal, is one of the top tourist destinations in the city. A hub for…read moreshopping, dining, recreation, and scenery, I found myself here multiple times during my trip soaking in the aesthetics. The majority of attractions line Rue Saint-Paul; you can spend a fair amount of time browsing the shops or grabbing a bite to eat. One of the biggest attractions here is the Notre-Dame Basilica, as well as the Old Port which has several carnival rides, food trucks, and a beach. The area is also filled with historical architecture, monuments, and statues. I noticed they offer walking tours of the area if you are into that, but I opted to explore on my own. One of my favorite features of Vieux-Montréal is the fact that some of the streets are closed off to cars, so you can stroll along with peace of mind. Definitely take the time to visit here, especially if it's your first time in the city.

Key landmarks include the Notre-Dame Basilica, Bonsecours Market, the Old Port, and Pointe-à-Callière Museum. There must be hundreds of statues, memorials, monuments, and pieces of public art on every corner. As for shopping and dining, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a better city for that. Boutiques, artisan shops, patisseries, restaurants, galleries, and cafes are everywhere. We had a crepe lunch at Chez Suzette, breakfasts at La Fabrique de Bagel and Le Petit Dep, a Polish dinner at Stash Café, and a late snack of coffee and pastries at a different Le Petit Dep. The quality of the food, and the smiling welcoming staff was consistently high wherever we went. Old Montreal is clean, safe, and devoid of panhandlers or vagrants. As we walked through the streets and visited the shops in Old Montreal, it was very cool to listen to all of the different languages being spoken -English, French, Russian, Chinese, and Lord knows what else. The carnival was supposed to be the highlight of our weekend so we were a bit disappointed when we showed up around 3 and all the activities were all done and there wasn't much to do other than the castle. Nearly every business in town was either closed or operating with a very limited menu so we were pretty disappointed because we didn't have anything to do other than walk around the ice castle for the short time we did. We did stay for the fireworks but they started nearly a half hour late so we decided to leave because we were bored and tired at that point and sure enough as soon as we started heading home the fireworks started. That was disappointing. They had started setting up the fireworks when we arrived at the castle around 5 so I'm not sure what delayed the start of them. Overall, the castle was incredible and very impressive but the carnival itself was underwhelming at night. I can't say the same for the day time as we missed that portion.

First timer at Osheaga and man on man was it a good one! At…read morefirst our uber dropped us off at laronde so we had to walk all the way back up the hill and got to the golf cart entree and we're rejected so had to walk around again but eventually you find it. We got searched as soon as you walk in which is fine it wasn't anything crazy just a quick look in the purse and metal detector. As soon as we got in we went to pee as there was nobody in line and the bathrooms were still clean and 0 wait time. We walked around and got a drink at the Jack Daniels bar and stopped to take some pictures at the osheaga playground swing set and than made our way through the free sample and made it to the hill where the huge osheaga sign is. The first person we saw was Dr. Fresh and he murdered the stage everyone was dancing and going nuts! Saturday seemed to of had the best line up in my opinion and boy oh boy was it packed. I can't wait to go back next year !

With so much to do you can easily fill your day from staff to finish weather your seeing 6 artists or only a few the crowd and energy are worth coming for alone!
