Shared room with shared bathroom, little privacy, often difficult to sleep and awakened at 5:30 am to make sure the night shift can get patients ready for therapy before the day shift arrives. Food generally not good; some residents order food delivered. Administrator was rude at check in after not explaining all of the facility policies to me. Discharge planner referred me to a home health agency, Amedysis, that is not in the UNC system, which is odd for a UNC hospital. This agency apparently cannot access my doctors' records re: my rehabilitation goals through UNC MyChart. If you are a UNC patient, ask lots of questions before agreeing to referral to Amedysis.

Chet made clear he would send me back to them if he couldn't help but after therapy began he discovered the chain of events which led to a locked shoulder and loose tendon and unlocked the shoulder with various stretches and strengthened the tendon with various homework and exercises. I went in completely ignorant and thinking that therapy was silly but it is absolutely HUGE for anyone with an injury. This was after she got kicked in the stomach by another resident, her purse was stolen, and she was neglected and ignored by many. She never received a documented care plan and all we experienced was routine shoulder shrugging. There are a lot of sad parts of this long story but few are as pathetic as the fact that the only time we feel their sense of urgency is now, on Yelp where they're suddenly interested in talking. The administration is not only poorly managed but seems indifferent to the well-being of its residents. The turnover rate for staff is alarmingly high, which speaks volumes about the toxic work environment and lack of training or support provided to employees. As a result, the level of care my mother received was inconsistent at best, and at worst, neglectful. Some of the staff were caring people, without a doubt, but staff were frequently overwhelmed, confused and unfamiliar with residents due to turnover. Communication from the administration to families was almost nonexistent. When I reached out with concerns, I was met with indifference or vague reassurances that were never followed through on. Clearly, the main concern of the administration is profits. This is not the kind of care anyone deserves, especially our senior loved ones who should be treated with dignity and respect.

He has a good amount of experience with rehabs like mine and his guidance has helped me make great progress in my journey back to normal. I will add, however, that my sessions with other physical therapists have been equally gratifying. The members of this team are well trained, well equipped, and super helpful. I recommend Trinity with 6 stars. I'm glad to have chosen them and the relationship I am building with them will carry me through this time of my rehabilitation.
