Which was such a breath of fresh air in this very active real estate market. Being a Realtor. I know all companies that are associated with real estate are experiencing lots of volume so that was very quick considering the market. To be honest I was in such need of moving this project forward. What a wonderful blessing we got started right away! I had moved into a new home and with the exception of a desk/chair and a bed. I only brought items that fit in a box. Or went in the closet. I initially contacted Blythe so I can get a design to get some furniture etc. but I had boxes all around the parameter of my home and couldn't get to the design until we went through all the boxes and had everything organized and put away. Over the years we can accumulate so many items that are so precious. IE: just to name one category. I had been saving a variety of keep sake items from over the years that were also in cardboard boxes and felt stuck not knowing what to do with them. I didn't know where to start. When Kate arrived she rolled up her sleeves and got to work. We opened every box and went through absolutely everything. She made what looked so overwhelming a breeze. She was able to help me discern what to keep and what to purge. I had a hard time parting ways with items I hadn't used in I can't even remember the last time I had used them. I even had kept boxes from vacuums and other appliances that she kindly pointed out were taking up space that we could use to organize other items in. Apparently, I needed the permission to get rid of it. Which when I did get rid of them. It felt freeing! We sorted through all sorts of items. Anywhere, from a variety of keep sakes (my daughter trophy's, various photos, bday and holiday cards I had collected over the years), office supplies, to electronics (she helped me discern what to keep - and what to recycle - phew - so nice to know you can recycle electronics), kitchen cabinets, cleaning supplies, cleaning appliances in a closet, to paperwork that needed to be shredded and had piled up over time (which I got done), misc. bathroom items, linen closet to labeling. By the time we were done it was after 6pm and we had lot of empty cardboard boxes to recycle. Even though she had been here for 4 hours on a intense and detailed job.... with a mask on... On a hot day. She wanted to ensure she didn't leave any task for that day not completed. She offered to help me break down and take out every last box (I live on the 3rd floor) which we did. Then we scheduled an appt. for the next day so we could get some containers etc. to efficiently organize the items. Bye bye cardboard boxes. What started off as a 3 hour process. Ended up being a 9 hour job over a span of 3 days. I'm so grateful Kate was available 3 days in a row to keep the flow of the process going. I can go on and on. When you don't know where to start it's sure great to have someone who is a professional organizer help you. Kate is experienced, professional, amazing, friendly, funny, jovial and someone you will feel comfortable having in your home.

I have used J. Hill for a couple of projects. Awesome is the only word to describe this company…read more Initially they came in when I bought my home and helped me with colors and design and furniture layout. Recently, I decided to do a kitchen remodel to a tropical feel. Jessica and Amy came out and discussed some ideas. I was very comfortable as they figured out exactly what would work best. They came back with a design and off we went. Amy was in charge and setup meetings with my contractor, cabinet makers, etc. Amy actually was more like the project manager than designer. She kept everyone on schedule and let everyone know that she has very high expectations and there is no compromising. I stay busy and as much as I like to stay on top of details, I couldn't. Amy, made it all very easy. She would supply a couple of options to each aspect of the kitchen remodel. She gave me a selection of paint colors, cabinet style and stain, sink style, counter top edging and more. I was shown how all of this would go together and complement each other. I never would have figured this out myself. Amy met me at 3 different stone slab yards to help me pick out the right slabs for my counters. The Sea Pearl Quartzite was amazing. I even learned how important the little details like cabinet pulls are and proper placement. They even had this idea to do a basket weave leather insert into some of my cabinet doors...so cool. Amy and Jessica were on top of my project from start to finish. I had the pleasure of meeting many of their team members along the way and all were exceptional and focused. I would make the highest recommendation for J. Hill Interiors. Don't waste your time....just call them! You will be happy you did!

I most certainly would recommend the team to anyone embarking on a design project of their own. This was our second design project with Jessica. It came about as a result of our recent relocation to Columbus, Ohio. As it turned out the buyer of our condominium in San Diego purchased our unit 'as is' complete with all furniture and decorating items. That fact alone speaks volumes regarding the quality of our first project with Jessica. With this move, we were transitioning to a 5100 square foot home and were starting from scratch. To complicate the matter, our new home was in Columbus and the project was going to have to rely on some serious communication skills, strong remote coordination and commitment to the decorating plan, timing expectations and budget envelope. Jessica & her team knocked the ball out of the park. We couldn't be happier with the end result. Jessica has the ability to take a blank sheet of paper, pepper in client preferences, and then deliver an award winning design on-time and on budget. If I were to describe her attributes they might include: Creativity & innovation - She has the uncanny ability to walk into a space and immediately see the possibilities. It is as if she was simply born with the design gene. Balances cost/value - The one thing I like most about J Hill is that there is not a cookie-cutter approach. Based on a solid understanding of customer preferences and budget constraints, she delivers solutions. And, importantly her solutions are turnkey. We went from an empty house to a beautiful showcase home in just 8-10 weeks. On budget and on time. Always available / technologically advanced- Even being over 2000 miles apart presented no challenge. Through routine conference calls, videoconferences, email and site visits, it felt as though our designer was located right here in Columbus. Put simply, Jessica collaboratively assembles the plan and then executes it flawlessly. We have used a lot of designers in the past, but none that I would recommend over J Hill Interiors. If you are in the market for affordable design services that deliver tremendous value, you wont go wrong with Jessica Tompane and the entire J Hill Interior Design group.

I was both impressed with her sense of style and her professionalism. The process started with her visiting our home to get a general sense of our style and to interview us about the project. She asked thoughtful questions and took detailed measurements of our current space. With a short time we had the initial designs and was surprised how close to the mark they were. I was expecting a number of rounds of back and forth before we got to that point so it showed she really had an understanding of our priorities and style. Since this was our first project, and I'm a very detail oriented person, I had a lot of questions and really wanted to understand everything about the process. She was patient and prompt when answering my questions and going over the details, sometimes repeatedly. I really appreciated that because I know we weren't her biggest client. I was also impressed with her taking the initiative and working with our general contractor to make sure we where all on the same page. To start, the process to refine the designs to match our needs and lifestyle was very frustrating and Alyce was often passive aggressive when doing so. She would make remarks like "some clients just cut me the check and let me do everything", "you need to take up drinking." She commented on our marriage, made threats about renovations causing divorce and was a source of stress and anxiety. She was late to almost all of our meetings, but was constantly checking the time which was quite uncomfortable. Her assistant, Michelle, was very kind during our meetings. Lastly, we found out that she copied her prior client's dinning room design and put it in our proposal. While it is with reason to take inspiration from other work, copying over an identical table, chair, drapery, window covering, and colors, etc. from one's own previous client and pitching it to the next is very unprofessional, considering we were billed 30 hours to design the dinning room. I don't recommend this company for interior design.

The stencils themselves are made of a decent quality material but they do not always match the design pictures shown for them. For the 3 complete sets of stencils I have purchased from them, I have had to use my own Cricut cutting machine twice to create my own stencils to overlay in order to get the actual design that Royal Designs had shown for them. What is so aggravating about it is that 1.) I have to purchase additional materials and 2.) It wouldn't have taken much effort for them to actually incorporate the shown design into the stencil - they just leave certain details uncut. When I first tried their stencil cremes, I absolutely fell in love with them. Because I liked them so much I decided to use them for an extremely large scale project I was doing in my historic home. Because this massive undertaking was going to be very time consuming I had only ordered a majority portion of the paints/cremes I would need so that they wouldn't dry out. Two years into this project, almost complete, I ordered the final container of antique gold stencil creme only to have the colors not match - not even a little bit! My project is now at a complete standstill. More so, I had to spend days upset & arguing with their customer service department over a $12 refund due to issues within their supply chain. This company has absolutely horrendously rude customer service, as well as inconsistent and incomplete products. Buyers beware.
