There are a lot of contractors who talk fast and sell harder. Robert with IZ Flooring was the opposite, which is why they stood out. We had a tricky flooring issue with about three and a half inches of drop in some areas and met with a few general contractors who mostly complained about how hard it would be. Robert actually took the time to understand the problem instead of trying to upsell us. He showed up about 15 minutes early, reviewed the situation, asked the right questions and set clear expectations for what realistically needed to happen. If you're like me: you want to shop with a local business, but you want the reliability and follow-through you can get (or at least force) from a big box competitor. IZ Flooring is that and more. Based on Yelp reviews I reached out and scheduled time for Robert to come by, measure, and make recommendations. I was replacing carpet in two bedrooms and removing engineered hardwood in a third. Moving furniture, getting carpet under a built-in closet organizer where hardwood was, ensuring closet doors and open/close correctly were all concerns, and Robert made sure that was all included in the contract. It took a couple trips into the store to look at and borrow samples before settling on a Mohawk carpet that we felt would work in all the rooms, and with each possible carpet it was (too) easy to text Robert and receive a detailed quote back that was easy to understand and spelled-out what it would cost. Once we made our choice, we had a contract and paid the deposit to order the carpet. When it arrived, George contacted me to schedule the installation, and assured me it could all be done in 1 day -- I didn't expect more than 2 day but didn't see how it would be possible with demo and moving all the furniture but they were right and I was glad to be wrong. The installers arrived on-time, were diligent and professional and did an amazing job, in by 9am and out by 3pm. At some point Perla stopped by and introduced herself, checked on the work, and took some photos, which is more oversight than I've ever had from a big-box or even a flooring contractor in a whole-house remodel. Great experience from start to finish. When I first visited IZ Flooring, I was greeted by Martin Salazar. Very helpful, personable, nice, and caring. He offered me refreshments. He was available when I needed or wanted assistance but not overbearing. Very easygoing nature. He even turned the lights up and down so I could see carpet colors in different lighting situations. He gave me realistic descriptions of how long carpet might look brand-new, good but definitely lived-in, etc. in spite of warranties. All of the carpet I saw looked to be of at least decent quality - and when I said I wanted the best padding, Martin told me they only sell one kind. He brought out a piece and let me feel it. Definitely high-quality stuff. When I had narrowed down my carpet selections to two, he sent me home with big sample boards containing one large roughly doormat-sized example and probably 20-30 smaller swatches. I didn't even have to leave credit card info or anything as collateral, like I did at a different place the last time I bought carpet (15-16 yrs. ago). He was very no-pressure. He told me "Estimates don't expire. Take your time. We'll be ready when you are." My next encounter was with Robert, who came out to measure and give estimates. He arrived exactly on time. I told him to let me know if I needed to move anything so he could measure. He assured me I didn't. He has this cool lazer-style measuring device. He knew more about my stairs than I did - he detected that they each have a "lip" and said the installers would "bullnose" the stairs to give them a more sculpted look. Very impressive. When he emailed me estimates, they were detailed and professional. The prices seemed decent, based on what I'd read online. I took a couple of days selecting what I wanted. Robert got right back to me and got the ball rolling for a contract and 10% deposit. All of these actions were prompt and smooth. One week later, the installer called to let me know my carpet was already in! Wow, that was way quicker than the 10-14 business days I thought I had heard. We made an appointment for Friday AM. 3 days later, the installers arrived around 8:30 after communicating when they'd be there. WOW. These guys are AMAZING. They were determined to finish it all in one day, which they did, although I would have been perfectly fine with the 2-day install Robert had said would be likely. My place is challenging to say the least - a 2-story townhouse-style condo with no direct access to the garage; a stairwell, 3 closets, and we had tons of items we'd moved ourselves, oodles of knicknacks, boxes of books, etc. taking up space wherever we could put them: patio, balconies, etc. Did these guys complain? Not once. I thought they would ask me to disconnect my router. Nope. They somehow worked carefully around it. My internet never went out, and I was able to work from home seamlessly. Baseboards and laundry closet doors that stuck out over the carpet and needed to be removed/replaced? No complaints, no problems. Those doors open WAY better than they ever did. My carpet is absolutely beautiful. The sculpted stairs are beautiful. I can already tell the carpet is very high quality, as we've already had several "accidents" (I have 3 cats) and the stains cleaned up with no problem. I contacted Iz flooring to do my floors and shower for my new home. The floors were completed on time and look beautiful. The problems occurred when they did my shower. I included a bench in my wants and paid an extra $800 for it. When the install occurred they built what looks like a shelf. I inquired multiple times to the installation manager and was told that was what I purchased. Plus they also charged me more for the plumbing that I thought was included in the contract price. We got our flooring about two years ago now. Our whole house was redone. We got LVP, baseboards and carpet. My husband and I were kind of disappointed by the customer service but left it alone. For a couple of months though now we are noticing the carpet is already bunching up, the baseboards are falling off the walls, the vinyl flooring is popping in certains areas too. The installation was done poorly to say the least. Very disappointed. We also noticed that they installed a broken piece and just left it. The icing on the cake though was when we had found so many nails sticking out of the baseboards and my daughter got poked by one, one day. My husband had to go around the whole house and cut them or hammer them off. Horrible company, I would definitely not recommend. read more

This is a five-star review for IZ flooring. After meeting with Robert, one of the owners, we decided to replace all of our carpet and laminate flooring with what is typically called LVP (luxury vinyl planking). Robert discussed a particular form of this product called SPC (stone polymer composite), which is extremely robust. He brought samples for us to see and was a huge help with the overall design. We also had our previously "open staircase" converted into a "closed staircase." You can't put LVP or laminate upside down. It is designed for flooring. IZ Flooring was able to start the job quickly and told us it would take two weeks. The job was completed on time and looks and feels amazing. It is like having a new home. The workers, especially Oscar, worked extremely hard and were always polite and professional. The craftsmanship was impeccable. We asked for some changes during the project, which they gladly took on. Every day, they cleaned up, swept and vacuumed. Our job was complex because the entire home had the flooring replaced and the stairs needed remodeling. This required the constant moving of our furniture. It was always protected and had no damage at all when put back. When they completed, they were very thorough cleaning up. IZ flooring was very competitive with their pricing. They provide a five-year labor guarantee. The product itself has a lifetime guarantee. We appreciated the electronic billing and electronic payment options. My wife and I decided recently to replace our 23-year-old carpet and tile with nice flooring. We had mixed experiences in the past with different contractors thru out the years, some good, some bad, some mixed and at least 2 extremely bad. Because of this, we take our time getting quotes from different companies, check their reviews online, license and insurance among other things to try to avoid surprises later. We started the bidding process with 2 flooring companies. They came to the house, looked around, gave us the catalog and left. Very standard process. We decided to look into IZ Flooring as our third and final bidding company. We looked at their reviews online plus other information and gave them a call. Robert from IZ came to my house to measure things and asked us what we were looking for. We showed him the samples that we liked from the other 2 companies and that is where Robert made a good impression with us. He recommended a totally different material, floor color and pattern for us based on our home, lighting and other factors. Robert helped us design our project instead of just selling us flooring like the other 2 companies did. Had we gone with the other flooring from the other 2 companies, the outcome would have been totally different. Our flooring would have come out too dark for our home. At the end of the day, we chose IZ Flooring because of pricing, reviews, provided references and the fact that they wanted for us to have the best flooring for our house. We promptly removed from our house all of the loose items on top and inside of every single piece of furniture we had, and they started the project soon after that. Roby and Jesus showed up to my door to start the carpet and tile removal. They moved all of our furniture around as needed to accommodate their work. Both of them were efficient and worked very fast. They finished our entire 2 story house in around 8 days which is more or less what Robert and I discussed when I first met him. At the end of the project, Roby and Jesus put every single piece of furniture back in their original place, vacuumed the entire house, removed the old carpet and tile and did a walkthrough with me to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. We now have in my mind a new house. It looks totally different. It looks elegant and received compliments from everybody that visited us during the Holidays. I am satisfied with IZ Flooring and recommend them to anybody. I can say without a doubt that from all the contractors I have worked with throughout the years, from solar, AC, paint, swimming pool, landscapers, plumbers, roof, rain gutter, and kitchen remodel, IZ Flooring is not only good, but they're also exceptionally good. This review is over due as we had our laminate wood floors installed months ago. They say first impressions mean everything but that wasn't the case here. I'm sure my consultant Josh , from IZ, would laugh and say the same. I wanted new flooring for two rooms and met with several companies. Josh was sent out to us to measure and give us his suggestions along with samples he brought along , based on what I was hoping for. Let's just say it wasn't the best first meet and greet. I wasn't sure this would be the best fit for us, service and product. But , and this is a great 'BUT', I was blown away by how happy we ended up with IZ. Josh was phenomenal. He went above and beyond. I tend to be sketch when I have doubts but he never NOT answered my questions or concerns during the entire vetting process. We laugh now at how we got off on a rocky start but ended up being able to high five one another during the process. He's , what we call, a gentle smiling giant of a man who ensured us, the entire time, that all would be ok. We were quoted an install time and they absolutely honored and abided by that time frame. The flooring came in sooner than expected and the install guys were amazing. We are super happy with the new flooring and value the work it took for them to put it in. It was a longer process as the owner himself had to bring the flooring to the location for installers to start the work. I highly suggest considering laminate wood flooring if budget is a concern. We wanted real wood floors but the cost was too high. Josh was able to educate us about the benefits, cost and durability , of laminate that we had no ever considered. So thank you Josh for that. I am still in awe of the final look. And am happy that we went with IZ. My sister was so happy that she reminded me to tip the installers. I had never heard of such a thing (but hey I tip the Home Depot guys for a 10 min drop off so yeah why not do the same with a longer flooring project right).
