Pork roast
Craig R.

Great homemade plate lunch. Pork roast rice and gravy with corn and green beans. Everything was seasoned really good but I had to put me some Tabasco. I got a meat ball poboy for at home later and it was ok. I wish they had pastrami and corned beef. But overall a great place for lunch

I knew going in this place was going to be good. It's owned and run by the same family that owns Old Tyme Grocery (one of Lafayette's most popular poboy shops) and they obviously are doing something right. This place does plate lunches daily so instead of my usual poboy I ordered one of those. Great choice! My smothered chicken over rice and gravy was tasty and moist. I had corn and cabbage as my sides and they even brought out a brownie. This was a lot of food for what we paid! I was stuffed! We also ordered the baked catfish with seafood topping and that was excellent as well. The chef came to our table and explained that was a dish he had come up with at the last minute to add to today's menu. Good idea, chef! The shop is charming and service is very friendly-you feel like you're eating in your friends kitchen. I love all the Saints, Tigers and Ragin Cajun newspaper clippings and t-shirts adorning the walls here. I will be back here for certain! Give it a try!

They were on the phone with someone trying to tell them how to do it and they still couldn't do it. We finally just left after 15 minutes. Most of the drinks were out and I can't even tell you how nasty the ice tea holders were, they looked like they had not been cleaned in a long time ! Don't go there!!!!!

She said we are out of those too. Wouldn't it be better to either say when we come in what you're out of or better yet have a sign that says we are out of pizza and calzones?! She copped a major attitude when he asked what do you have? She replied rolling her eyes we have sandwiches, soups and salads. We ordered our food and then we paid with a gift card which she couldn't get to work right and called the manager over while repeating that's she was done. We sat down and the food came out rather quickly, however my husbands bread was hard as a rock and had hardly any meat on it at all. For the prices there should be more meat than a thin slice! My sandwich was fine. I love Schlotzsky's and Florida no longer has them so we always seek them out when we leave the state however we will not be back to this particular location.

The atmosphere was great, there are many thank you cards, notes and letters on the walls for their contributions and community support. I think that is great. One of the owners Michelle took our order. She was very nice and offered suggestions. The service was great the food was excellent. My husband and I got the small rolls and it was just enough. Just what we needed while traveling. My hubby had the cold rolled basil cashew chicken which is #30 on their menu, fresh basil chicken, cashews, spicy Thai sauce, leaf lettuce, plum tomatoes and avocado. He gave it a 4 1/2, he said it was very good. He would definitely stop again. It was quiet and clean. I had the hot rolled turkey apple jack #39 on their menu, which is turkey breast, jack cheese, apple butter, bacon, mushrooms, onion, fresh basil Mayo, and with a side of spicy mustard. It was delicious!! It will be a great place to stop when are passing through again. I would recommend stopping.

The sandwich looked identical to our order + drink ($11.54 + $1. 21 tax=$12.75). We paid $12.75 no chips, compared to $10.99 + $1.21 tax= $11.20 for the Boardwalk special which includes chips. Low rating is because employees aren't trained to automatically provide the lowest price to the customer, or even let the customer know that chips can be included for $1.50 less. And, when asked later about the price difference of the special bundle & not sharing that with us, we were not offered a complimentary (which we clearly paid for) bag of chips. Jersey Mike's product seems no better than Subway or other area fast food restaurants, in particular when comparing coupon prices or specials. The interior has a cute vibe & nice employees but it's not sufficient to compel us to return to this store given our personal experience.

First of all, there are a whole bunch of free parking and it was easy to find this restaurant. The atmosphere was low keyed and subtle, not loud and rambunctious. We were seated immediately, even if we were early for our reservation and our very friendly and helpful server, Jaslyn, was awesome! She suggested to start off with a delicious strawberry margarita and it was a home run! Perfectly blended garnished with both a lemon and a lime slice. We ordered the Prejean's seafood platter, which hit all the marks. Catfish filet, oysters, crawfish, alligator, shrimp, hush puppies and fries. Everything was lightly battered and not the least oily. We also had to try the chicken, andouille sausage gumbo and the crab cake vermilion which were so delicious! But, the highlight was our extraordinary server, Jaslyn! The was the epitome of southern hospitality with her sweet, unassuming personality! The next time I'm in Louisiana, I'll be back at Prejean"s!
