Customer service was good, the restaurant was clean. The food was just okay. I was with a large party but the food came out in a reasonable time. We had appetizers and drinks to keep us occupied. I had the "Cat 5" Hurricane, it was juiced down, more juice than liquor. Pretty drink but disappointing. I had the 1/2 & 1/2 platter with fried catfish and grilled shrimp. I also tried the chicken cracklin and crawfish nachos. Everything was just okay.

What a great stop. Happy they had a full bar and a great menu. Large parking lot with parking close to the entrance. We were greeted when we arrived. The decor at this establishment was very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Lots of places to be. We chose to sit at the bar. We were greeted promptly and our drink orders taken. They Just opened so they're so the Margarita machine was not yet 100% ready, so I ordered a Long Island instead. Trying to decide on what to eat was like picking your favorite fish in the ocean. I settled on shrimp tacos and was very happy. My husband had the sampler with oysters and was thrilled with the spread. Overall great food and drinks for the money spent. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Great news the Margarita machine froze up and I was able to sample before leaving. Great start to the day!

Fantastic experience, almost perfect! The service was very friendly and even though the server was overloaded she still checked on us, brought us refills, etc. We got: crawfish enchilada (a MUST get, an incredibly delicious dish), shrimp and grits (delicious! The grits were seasoned so it was delicious even if you ran out of sauce) and the boudin flatbread (this was a miss for us, you couldn't taste anything but the strong sauce they put on it). I would absolutely go again and recommend it to others!

IT'S HERE! The second location everyone has been waiting for. This prejean's has a far more limited menu than the Lafayette location, but all the favorite's remain. I got the Cowboy Catfish which was great as usual. It was pretty slow, but was also late on a Tuesday. Service was great, a lot of rollover from the previous restaurant/bar that was in the same location. Give this location some time to catch on. Their current patio is great, but they have plans to expand for their indoor music scene as well.

My dog Lucky and I stopped here on our road trip cross country to Colorado. The shrimp po'boy was so good. the bread even better. After lunch the owner stopped by and we struck up a 25 minute conversation. Jokingly I suggested I was adopted, because that's how welcomed I felt. Highly recommended stopping here.

Met up with some friends while visiting from out of town. We had our 3mo old with us and this was the first time I've had a restaurant give us a little stool for his car seat. It was brilliant. The food was also really good. It was my first time having alligator and I could've gotten another plate for myself. Not sure what the sauce was but YUM! I ordered some sort of seafood pasta and I was too full to eat it all after the alligator bites but the leftovers were just as good the next day.

    Shrimp Poboy

The shrimp Poboy is one of the best boys I've had in a very, very long time. The french fries were cooked to perfection crispy outside fluffy inside the lettuce and tomato in the poor boy were fresh and crisp was an absolute perfect dish.

Last minute lunch date and what a treat! For a great price we were stuffed when we left and pleased with the lunch portions and taste. A must dine for lunch for those on a budget yet wants to have a rewarding meal.

We were in the mood for breakfast/brunch and I have to say it was the best breakfast plate I've had in a long time. I had 2 eggs over easy, hash brown potatoes, a large homemade breakfast sausage patty, and a buttery biscuit. I also sampled my husband's biscuits and gravy and I was a little disappointed I hadn't ordered that. The service was friendly but not over the top. We were initially confused about seating and ordering. But, our food came out really quickly, which is always a plus. It's very cozy and you should not expect any frills, but do go if you're looking for a home-cooked meal.

There's no host stand or clear seating system, so the entrance felt chaotic. We weren't sure what to do until a nice local told us to just grab a table. After sitting down, it took about 5 mins for a waitress to stop by with the menus. The menu includes both breakfast and lunch items, but the ordering process is confusing. We were told breakfast orders would be taken at the table and lunch needs to be ordered separately at the cafeteria style counter. My husband went to the counter to order lunch while I stayed behind, waiting for the server to return with drinks and take our breakfast order, she never did. The smothered pork dish looked worse than school cafeteria, and unfortunately tasted like it too. It was overly salty and the pork had a weird taste to it. Since we had already paid for the lunch item upfront and still hadn't been able to place breakfast order, we decided to cut our losses and went to another restaurant. Overall, wasted 35 mins and left frustrated and disappointed, definitely won't come back!

This may have been part of the reason its wasn't all that busy on a Tuesday lunch. Similar to some other restaurants in Louisiana I've visited, they have a side with a bar, to-go area and high tops, and a more family oriented side of the restaurant with a bunch of low top tables. Fried pork rinds are served with every table. They have daily plate lunches and the one day I came it was chicken fried steak. However, it's not usually a good idea to order CFS outside of Texas in my experience. Therefore, I ended up ordering the catfish and shrimp platter, served grilled instead and added a $5 strawberry margarita. The entree comes with a side salad but they only have seelct dressings and none which I would typically order, so i just settled on honey mustard. Margarita- for only $5 it's not bad and comes with either sugar or salt rim Catfish and shrimp platter - seasoned with a blackened seasoning but it wasn't spicy. The catfish filet was small and tasted like it was previously frozen. The shrimp were also small and didn't taste much better. Not sure I'd return if ever in Lafayette, as I was really looking for a more festive environment and more grilled options.

As I am someone who was in the restaurant when it happened…read more I just think it's funny how you aren't mentioning y'all came in as 6 people and then wanted accommodations for 30 people during one of the busiest times of the night. Or that they argued with the amazing manager for nearly an hour total after being told they couldn't accommodate that size party. They're also leaving out the part where people from their group marched in and seated themselves, stood over occupied tables waiting for guests to leave, insisting the hosts clean the tables, and made the entire restaurant uncomfortable. This had nothing to do with race and everything to do with behavior. Any group acting like that would've gotten the exact same response. In short, do better. Y'all came in and ruined everyone's dinner because y'all don't know how to plan ahead. Stop blaming people for your mistakes and take accountability.

This is a top-notch local seafood restaurant, and long time favorite. When I say "long-term", I'm almost 82 & have been a customer for over 65 years, since coming with my parents in the 1950's. I know of no other restaurant anywhere with that record of excellence & consistent performance. The specialty is Louisiana Atlantic blue crab, and in that genre, Riverside has no real peers. Yes, they offer a wider array including local crawfish, shrimp, & oysters; plus cold water lobsters & steaks. But our crab is delicate & must be handled with expertise. Riverside does that better than I could at home on the Teche. Secluded off street lot parking, swamp-ish theme landscaped grounds, locals bar, professional waitstaff.
