10/7/22 Update And now he's a lying psychopath on top of the bad service! He posted a comment that he doesn't like to work with people like me because I don't give him the full payment. BULL***T! Nothing could be futher from the truth. Not only did I pay him every penny (have all the venmo receipts to prove it), but I am the one to had to chase him to catch up. Cleanup was a 2-part job, weeks apart. Rather than paying 50% each time, he asked that when I paid for the first half, that I advance money toward the 2nd half. Then, he didn't want to do the work. His behavior was very erratic the entire time. That combined with desperation for money makes me suspect a drug problem. He would message me and ask when I was going to pay him and I'd have to send him the screen shot reminding him that I paid him when he was here! As for all the sudden 5-star reviews: As of today, there are ones such as someone from Buffalo, NY with 3 reviews. Someone from Spokane, WA who has no other reviews, etc. Bernardo has trouble showing up to Queens (which is where he lives). This man came and gave me a quote the same day I called, then got the job done the next day with speed! He was always on time, communicated well, and cleaned the yard after removing a giant berry tree from the yard. And he was very affordable. 10/10 would recommend!! I had a massive job in both the front and back yard. That included removing a 40 ft tall tree. Not only was the job done quickly, but it was done with great care and the front and back yards were left spotlessly clean. He's a great communicator and went above and beyond what was agreed upon removing more large branches that I overlooked requesting and also took time to chop fire wood pieces for me when I mention I could use some of the fallen tree for my fire pit. Also, I live in Jackson Heights Queens and am a real customer. I noticed another reviewer make accusations that the positive reviews are fake based on the reviewers' location. Well, this one is certainly real and often people move and their locations might change. Yelp can be a vicious place where people can get fixated on taking out their own unhappiness with life on hardworking small businesses. I would recommend Bernardo Landscaping in a heartbeat. So my issues with Bernardo landscaping is the response time was fine however, the execution was horrendous. They broke two of my sprinkler lines blamed it on the sprinkler company, charged extra then the negotiated price when I explained to the owner if he would take some of the money and I would give him the rest once I speak to the sprinkler company he took a fit acted like a child and threw his hands in the air and walked away and said forget it was extremely nasty and unprofessional. And then had the audacity to send a nasty text message to me. I do believe in paying for work done however, I do not believe that it is my responsibility to pay out of pocket for an damages that was caused by him and his employees. I've never in my life, have dealt with such unprofessional people ever and I've had a lot of work done to my home. And they also spent a lot of time drinking and having breaks that was supposed to be in 1 day job turns into a 2 day job. 1. Slamming tools and wheel barrel on new driveway 2. Not putting the proper seed amount down.after providing the seed and fertilizer to the company. As we had plenty left over after calculating the proper amount needing to be put down. They also did not put down the fertilizer after providing it to them. 3. Using my personal garbage can to dump dirt into their truck from the job.and it broken do to them doing this. 4. No follow through on leveling out the easement as I have to go out there and do it myself late at night. 5. Breaking two of my sprinkler lines and then blaming it on the sprinkler company. 6. Giving a price in the beginning of the job and then changing the price to more money. and not being willing to work with me when stuff broken. 7. Sending a nasty text message. 8. Job was not fully complete nor does this company take responsibility for any of their actions. BEWARE !!!! if I can give no stars I would have. 9. Did not get connected. Did not work out. He said he would come down and look at the lawn but never came and I got not price from him.

Bernardo is a pleasant guy but do not use him. You been warned. We have a large backyard that wasn't kept well. Bernardo came twice to our property and we were very clear what we wanted done and he understood that. We agreed on 2500 50.% after the first day and 50% upon completion. He was to mow, cut two trees and get rid of all debris and clean up both front and back yard (spring clean). On the first visit he meet with me, and told me it would be a 3 day job with three men. On the second time he met with my husband to again clarify what is need to be done, he said it would take 2 days with three men. We agreed a date and he was to let me know the time days before. So didn't hear from him text him and he said he will come the next day, days earlier than we agreed but that's fine. On the day he shows up late in the morning with only one other person and says he will do everything in one day. Which was not possible, we gone from three to one day without increasing but decreasing manpower. At the end of the day he was no where near finished but throughout the day he kept trying to cut corners saying his not supposed to do this and that and we kept having to remind him of what was agreed. At the end of the day he asked for cash payment, which we agreed, but was trying to insist on more than 50% (2000), we gave him a little over 50 (1500). He also tried to negotiate more money for the job which we declined. There was no justification for it, he came to the property twice and was allowed to freely inspect and both times we made it clear what we wanted done and price agreed. He was to come back on another day but didn't come on the day agreed and when he showed up next it was again him and another guy and only half a day. He also ask for a further 1500 upon agreed price and of course we said no. Throughout the morning kept on saying we were not trying to pay him which was a real joke. We had an agreement and committed to it. He was not receiving any further payment until completion as agreed. Barely touched the backyard and left so much stuff uncompleted, plus 11 trash bag (which he was supposed to take with him) and didn't even tell us when he left, I found out after i text him. He was still insisting on payment and I reminded him of our agreement and asked when his coming back. He said he was not so he choose not to be paid. We have since had an agreement with another company for significantly less than the remaining balance. I say all this to say he does somewhat of a decent job, pleasant person, but totally unreliable, will try to extort more money and cut a lot of corners and very unlikely to finish the job as agreed. Do not pay him a deposit before he starts the job and certainly don't pay him fully until his completed. But best advice is to avoid using him completely not worth the hassle read more

Bernardo is a class act! My business facility had several areas of very large and over grown weeds. I called Bernardo and he was at my facility within minutes of that call. We walked the facility and I told him exactly what I wanted done. He gave me a very fair price. He told me the job would be complete the the very next day. I came back to the facility the next day and was blown away!!!! He and his guys did an amazing job!!!!!! I contacted Bernardo to cut some branches from a tree in our backyard. He replied via text right away. He came for an estimate that day & gave us a price. I got other estimates & he beat the prices. He was very responsive via texts, showed up when he promised, polite & friendly. He did a great job on the tree & asked our opinion every step of the way. Bernardo was very conscientious. I couldn't meet him at the site, so he kept in touch with me, sending me pictures. The important thing is, he did a really beautiful job at a very fair price. Bernardo does excellent work and is friendly, charges a fair price and is a great communicator too, which is hard to find. He called me back so promptly, came by the very next day to give an estimate, and did a huge project for us in less than a day: trimming multiple big branches off one tree and completely removing another. The second tree was in our backyard and Bernardo and his assistant had to drag the branches through the basement to remove them. We couldn't believe how clean the basement was after all that, because they cleaned up thoroughly.
