It's very convenient to where we live (by greenwich hospital), which was a huge plus. We signed up for the summer special after trying Greenwich kempo and devita karate (both of those places are great as well, and suggest you try them out too). We joined white tiger because the people are friendly, my daughter and I can do classes together, and the instructors are great. The summer special was a great deal, and I'll definitely be signing my daughter up afterwards. The instructors will take you out for a one on one if other classmates are more advanced. They are very patient in teaching, add humor but very firm at the same time. The other classmates watch you and also go gentle on you and have been extremely friendly. Those of you looking to increase cardio but dont want to sit on a bike in a gym, and also learn patience and body control, this seems to be the place. Very satisfied.

I don't know if the same teachers work there (at the time it was these two Olympic-level teachers that were phenomenal) but that year of learning Tae Kwon Do was one of the best and most important experiences/lessons of my life. Of course you learn the techniques, but they also taught me how to be respectful, discipline and be an overall good person (sounds cliche but it's true). I guess after looking at all the great reviews about 25 years after my experience with this place, their integrity has never wavered and I would recommend this place for sure. I think they also opened a new place in my hometown (next town over from Norwalk) New Canaan.

Unlike many other activities we have tried with our kids, we never have to force them to get ready for TKD. They look forward to their 2 classes per week. Last night they had their first belt testing and got their yellow stripe. One of our sons also got a trophy. For anyone with younger children, I would DEFINITELY check out their open gym time to get a feel for the place. The facility is extremely clean and well-run, the equipment is in excellent condition, and I am conststantly impressed with how professional, creative, and genuinely happy to be there the instructors are- from Master Chung himself down, they all seem to LOVE teaching skills to children. (And not in a cheesy way!) I would definitely recommend the sports skills class to anyone with a child in the 2.5-5 year range. My niece is learning so much and becoming so much more confident in her abilities. Unlike other similar classes I've observed at other locations, Bruce Chung's makes sure that all the children in the class are engaged, with minimal time just sitting around waiting their turn. I'd also like to note the positive effect this has had on my boys day-to-day lives outside of tkd. Not only with their self-confidence physically, but the way which they interact with people. For example, several times now teachers and administrators who interact with my boys have noted how impressed they are with the respect they show. Saying goodbye and thank you as they leave the room, for example. This just one of the habits reinforced here and it really has made a difference.
