Found this gem while on a day trip to Bodega Bay. The flowers were beautiful, but I was disappointed to find an infestation of aphids after about a week. I discovered the Roblar Road flower stand just in time for tulip season. I'm of Dutch dissent and tulips are my favorite flowers. The freshness of these flowers is just beyond anything I've purchased prior in this area, and the variety is surprising. At first I thought they were on the expensive side, so I thought I'd buy a small bouquet and see how it goes. Still looked great after one week with proper care, and that says a lot when you're talking about tulips. I also love the variety of bouquet sizes, and that they don't stuff their bouquets full of green filler. The small bouquet is perfect for my small kitchen island. Simple elegance. I don't even know where to begin. I contacted Lennie relatively last-minute (June for a September wedding), and thankfully she was available. We were doing our wedding on a budget, and Lennie was completely willing to work within our constraints. She provided us with my bridal bouquet, long-stem lilies for the bridesmaids (which she re-acquired last minute the day before because she didn't like the original lilies! Love a woman as particular as me!), and 4 buckets of greens and flower stems so we could save money by making our own center pieces. To help facilitate that, she made a mock-up center piece and even sent me "how-to" videos so I didn't screw things up (...little did she know, my soon to be mother-in-law and aunt-in-law have endless talent, so there was no hope of me ruining her beautiful buds!) Beyond her flexibility and ease of contacting, the flowers were GORGEOUS. SO many beautiful colors, clearly so well loved and cared for by Lennie. We were able to make 20 milk-jug center pieces as well as about a dozen smaller arrangements, more than enough to totally bathe the barn in flowers. Lennie was also willing to make my bridal bouquet extra-special; I mailed her a locket in advance, which she lovingly attached to my bouquet. And when I wasn't available to pick them up in person last minute, she worked with my bridesmaids to coordinate a mostly seamless hand-off. I just took B-Side Farm's on-line class on growing ranunculus and have nothing but positive things to say.  Lennie Larkin is a great presenter and the information she shared I really needed.  I was not expecting little titbits like how she prices ranunculus and how it relates to gross profit.  The things I was expecting like how to pre-sprout and properly grow ranunculus were covered in great detail.  I was one of the lucky people to join her live Q&A and it was invaluable.  Lennie's depth of knowledge is relevant to both backyard enthusiasts and professional growers.  She also is very approachable and kind.  She actually offered some of her corms to people who missed the boat to order this year.  The big bonus for me is that I am in her growing zone so all the information on how she grows ranunculus didn't need to be adapted for my climate.  Also the cost of the class is low compared to other courses out there!  I can't wait to see what other courses she will offer! read more

Lennie Larkin from B-side Farm is a flower GOD. My wife and I had an early summer wedding in Sonoma county, so we wanted wild, bountiful bouquets with lots of big colorful flowers. We went with Lennie because she grows most of her own flowers locally. She was fun to talk to and helped us figure out what we'd need well before the wedding. In total we ordered bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids, cocktail table arrangements, a centerpiece for the bar, dinner table accents, and ceremonial floral garlands. Lennie delivered the fresh flowers the morning of the wedding and set up the garlands and table decorations. The bar centerpiece was an urn overflowing with flowers. The whole thing looked vaguely grecian, very pink, and very classy. The bride and bridesmaids' bouquets were enormous, arranged in a way that looked wild and spontaneous and perfect. I'll start by saying that my now wife and I aren't really "flower people." We like flowers but don't know much about all the different types and how everything should come together. This review is long overdue but so incredibly deserved. I found Lennie from B-Side Farms on Yelp and instantly fell in love with her immense talent and kind soul. To be honest, I didn't know how to research a florist for our wedding. I knew what I didn't want (tight orb-like bouquets, gaudy unnatural centerpieces, etc.) but had a hard time finding a florist who's website captured the type of look I was going for: a more natural, greenery heavy, almost undone look that complimented the beautiful setting of our wedding venue. Lennie stunned us with her creativity, flexibility, and responsiveness when creating the floral arrangements for our October farm wedding. During our initial meeting with her, we talked about how we loved bright colors and varied textures, with an emphasis on dahlias.
