When we were on track, she made us feel confident that we were ready to go. She helped us put together our timeline and provided sound advice throughout the whole process. We would have calls when needed at first, but we had weekly calls with her starting about a month out from the wedding so we were all on the same page. After the wedding, we found ourselves missing those weekly calls since Lexie was so good to us and was as calming presence in the hectic wedding planning process. The day of the wedding we had an unexpected rain delay (at an outdoor venue with basically no backup plan). In this high pressure situation, Lexie kept the mood calm, and coordinated with our vendors so well. She took the lead and handled all details during the rain delay, never once bothering the bride and groom. As far as we knew, everything was under control the entire time. Lexie followed all directions that we gave her as far as our vision for the wedding, and our day turned out better than we could have ever imagined. Our other vendors enjoyed working with her and we only heard rave reviews from our friends and family during the day-of. On the day of the wedding, everything started off well. Brandon arrived nice and early, he looked clean cut (although he was wearing a polo to a wedding, we're cool with that because we're sort of a come as your are kind of crowd). he brought so much equipment he actually blew the fuse at the venue (they swear thats never happened). But it was a quick fix. Right up until the reception started, i would give Brandon four stars. But unfortunately, he did a few things during the wedding that drove us nuts: -- We spent an insane amount of time and effort creating playlists and burning CDs for Brandon. We provided like 8 hours of music for him to go from (including a whole lot of jazz to play during meals), so there really shouldnt have been any reason why we would hear a song thats not on the playlist. And yet the music he played while we were eating was this weird synthy stuff that we never ever would have chosen. my hubby hates synth music. --after the father-daughter dance, for the first REAL dance of the night, we hoped he'd play something to get everyone out on the dance floor. we gave him a lot of dance music to choose from. but instead he chose to lead with 'play that funky music white boy' (awful) and he followed it up with 'ice ice baby' (worse). We couldnt understand how he got so far away from the music list and style we requested. we sucked it up and danced anyway, but it was super awkward. --at one point, he left the dj booth altogether, and when the song ended there was dead silence for several minutes until he got back (so noticable. many guests commented on it to me). I get that everyone needs a bathroom break, but he should have made sure there were enough songs ready to play automatically while he stepped away. -- i forgot to specify a song for the bouquet toss prior to the wedding. Brandon didnt mention it to me until it was just about to happen, and i quickly pointed to one of the songs on my original playlist to put on right away so we can do the bouqet toss. well, my ladies lined up and were raring to go, and i waited a while for him to find the right track, but the song never came on. i ended up tossing the bouquet to what i would refer to as elevator music. this one's a little bit my fault, but he shouldve asked me a little sooner about the song, so he had time to find it. All in all, i think Brandon was a good value for the price. I would probably recommend him to another budget-conscious bride. i just wanted to provide explanation as to why i couldnt give him a better review. i certainly hope he takes my constructive criticism to heart. he's a genuinely good guy and i wish him all the best.
