Jill customized a one-on-one prenatal session to address my unique concerns. For example, I am delivering at a hospital that's not known for great lactation support, and we talked about many strategies to establish/protect my milk supply and to ensure that baby gets enough colostrum. Jill has many years of experience as a lactation consultant at various hospitals, and her insider perspective was very valuable! She's also an RN and an IBCLC RLC, and her professionalism and experience really shows. She had a great answer to all of my questions and lots of stories (both positive and cautionary) to share. Jill also helped me think ahead to when my maternity leave ends, including helping me orient to my new breast pump (she even tested the vacuum pressure!), strategies for effectively bottle-feeding a breast-fed baby, and thinking about birth control options and their effect on breastfeeding. Jill saved me from making dozens of rookie mistakes, and I really appreciate her hands-on help + lots of demonstrations with visual aids. Her office is peaceful and relaxing, and she's a very calm and friendly person. I feel better knowing that if something goes wonky with breastfeeding after delivery, I'll have Jill's number and can arrange for her to do a home visit.

There are many doctors and nurse practitioners at these 3 locations. We started by seeing Dr. Bob and his awesome shoe collection! He is so kind and caring. He is so calm when you are the panicked parent. When my youngest had some weird bumps on her hands and the dermatologist said it would be a while before we could get in, Dr. Bob made a call and got us in faster! We love Dr. Bob! He is at the Lebanon and Landen offices which are the locations we use. I'm also offering a special shout out to Dr. Rankin! When my youngest was struggling to get well, she and I had a great discussion which led to diagnosing my daughter with a syndrome we didn't know she had. I will forever be grateful for that lifesaving conversation we had! She took the time to listen and it made the world of difference! The nurses here are also good for when you aren't sure if you should come in or not. I've left many a message and waited for a call back. They do always call back, though I was wish they were a little faster sometimes. Beth is one of my favorite nurses! She is also kind and she explains things in a way that make it easy to understand. There is a new online check-in system which has sped up the registration process. I've sent a few friends in the direction of Northeast Peds and they have continued to be happy customers as well.

Bonnie was informative and thorough, yet she did not overwhelm. The knowledge I gained in her class helped me relax going into the last few weeks of my pregnancy and I felt prepared once the littles were earthside. My husband also found her class to me invaluable and with his help and support, I am still nursing my now 18mo old twins. Bonnie is a busy mom herself but she has made herself available for questions I've had along the way via text, email and in-person. What immediately struck me about Ashley was that she was not judgmental about how long we've been breastfeeding or why were were stopping, and she was supportive of our choices. She gave such great info on breastfeeding in general, how to gently end it, methods we may see online that aren't worth the time and other tips and tricks along the way. This shop that runs as its own business and entity from the hospital is located between the emergency room and labor delivery entrances. All Five of my daughters were born at this very hospital and one cool perk the hospital recently started doing (at least for my last two daughters) is they give all new mothers a free prescription for a breast pump that is redeemed at Thai on site bistro. The rest of the store features baby clothes, blankets and accessories. They have some pretty cute and different options then the on-site gift shop on the other side of the hospital wing. So you can come in here and buy some gifts too. I actually got my newest daughter a cute Paris baby blanket and small black dress when redeeming the breast pump this time around. Overall pretty cool and unique perk and shop for a hospital. All my experiences here have been top notch with the workers being extremely helpful and friendly.

Last week was a tough one. It was filled with work and personal struggles, on top of not being able…read moreto sleep due to being 18 weeks pregnant. So on Thursday, I decided that something had to change. I needed to do something for myself and my baby to help get me back in a better place. Enter: Modern Mama Wellness Center. I had heard about the prenatal yoga offered by Jackie and her business from a friend of mine, and considering the first class is free, I thought it couldn't hurt. I signed up for and attended Saturday morning's class. And wow, did it help me refocus my energies and feel better. I love yoga and have taken part in several classes through the years, but this one was different. It started with the seven of us in the class going around and introducing ourselves, saying how far along we are and what our biggest obstacle from the last week was. The entire class is low impact, which you can imagine for prenatal yoga. But even being low impact, I could tell immediately that it was making a difference. First of all, I had difficultly even keeping my eyes closed for the relaxation exercises at the beginning. That's how tense I was to start. But this got better throughout the class. Jackie included tidbits about pregnancy and labor throughout the class, such as how you can sit differently and use yoga poses to get the baby in a better position. And then at the end of the class, she came around and gave everyone neck and scalp massages with essential oil and placed warm rice packs on the back of your necks. I didn't have any trouble relaxing especially after that. Modern Mama is in a small building behind Louisville Family Chiropractic on New La Grange Road, near the malls on Shelbyville Road. Definitely know that before you go. And my one suggestion to Modern Mama would be to provide class prices on the website, social media or even on a pamphlet. I want to signup, but it's hard to keep the different price levels straight. Jackie also is a doula, I believe, and Modern Mama offers infant massage, childbirth classes and other wellness workshops, including a "comfort class for dads," which goes over how dads can comfort moms in labor. I can't wait to go back for another prenatal yoga class and for these classes to help me get stronger and prepare for having this baby.

I kind of wish all yoga was this chill, with plenty of reminders to go at your own pace. I especially dig the Monday class when Ester works in some restorative poses towards the end of every class, along with some adjustments and lavender heated rice bags at the end. The sign up and payment process is super easy (online sign up, Venmo or cash payment). Every class has a short intro/sharing time at the beginning and the instructors are really kind and empathetic about the woes of pregnancy. It's a good way to get into the right head space. Also, I always always feel better after in terms of low back and hip pain, so that's a big plus!

I started getting frequent clogs, my baby was unreasonably fussy, had silent reflux, and started struggling to breastfeed. I had no idea what was going on -- my first child had no issues breastfeeding and I had been doing the exact same thing with my second. Luckily we were referred to TTT and they were incredible from the first phone call. We called frantically on a Friday afternoon after getting tipped off that our baby might have a tie. They were so quick to respond and Scott even took our intro phone call on a Saturday afternoon. We were in first thing on Monday morning for the procedure!! When you're in this desperate position to feed your baby, you KNOW how important speed is. I was SO thankful they were able to get us in so quickly - I may have cried a few silent tears of relief when he said we could come in on Monday morning. Everyone in the office was so helpful, kind, and understanding. The procedure was super quick and easy (as they tell you!). Although it was a bit traumatizing being freshly postpartum and exhausted, the team was so comforting and reassuring. I had this strange expectation that once we had the procedure, breastfeeding would magically be fixed. This was indeed not the case -- it was a much longer haul to get back to a successful breastfeeding situation. We had the ties (4 total) released at around ~7 weeks, but it took several months afterwards to get fully back to successful breastfeeding with little to no pumping. I say this for anyone reading this to gain realistic expectations. We had to go back for lactation appointments (Heather was amazing!) and I was still having to pump around the clock for a few weeks. Our daughter is now 7 months old, exclusively breastfed, and absolutely thriving. In fact, she refuses the bottle at this point, which some people would be bummed about but is such a win for me. I am SO happy that we had this procedure done with TTT and their amazing staff! This is somewhat of a niche operation and I am so grateful that they exist. Thank you Dr. Sacker and everyone at TTT for dedicating so much time and energy to helping families like us!

When I first saw Dr. Sacker, she immediately knew I had not only a tongue tie, but a lip tie, before even looking in my mouth. Her expertise helped me feel confident. She removed tongue, lip and both cheek ties. My neck felt immediate relief and soon after, my husband told me he could see the softness in my face from the release. Dr. Sacker and her staff are caring and professional. She stayed in contact with me when I was not able to make my 2 day follow up. When their are aids they are on their phones and even went as far as walking into my Dads house and the aid just texting away on their phone. This is the most poorly ran company I have ever had to deal with and unfortunately the elderly do not want to cause problems and just deal with subpar service. If you have access to have someone else clean for your elderly parent fine someone other than Senior Helpers. Never seen people flat out lie to me again and again with no remorse.
