It's in a plaza right next to Mystic Aquarium- the parking lot is a nice size but can get packed in the front so go around back and there's TONS of parking. There's shopping for everyone here. From random items, to themed items, treats, snacks, food, Knick knacks, jewelry, sunglasses, home items and so much more. It gives me hippie vibes and I love that. All the employees in the shops are just so sweet- never ran into a bad one. I enjoy walking around here every single store front has something in it, it's not a dead area with random shops closed. It's pretty much always busy, but doesn't get so crowded you have anxiety. I have brought my mom here a few times and she also enjoys it. We spend half a day here and grab something to eat as well. You might want to plan to spend at least 3/4 hours here. Take it all in. The prices can be on the more pricier side for stuff- but that's location. Have fun!

I recommend shopping, then eating, and then doing more shopping. I somehow always end up getting tea or coffee to go from one of the shops, and also recommend getting one to treat yourself. After looking in the store for about 39 minutes we had a couple items of clothing we were going to purchase. Before we could get to the front, a harrowing ringing, buzzing alarm began. Guess that was the mall fire alarm. Kudos to the staff that directed us out, but would have been nice if they said put your items over here as you leave so you can come back and purchase them. We put the items on a counter as we left but the alarm reset took too long and we had to go to other stores. So we had a nice window shopping trip.

Once upon a time I would scoff at the notion of wearing clothes from Old Navy. I spend quite a bit of money on denim & shoes but have had trouble finding decent XL shirts that fit me right. At Old Navy an extra large is really an extra large. It doesn't hurt that their clothes are inexpensive too. I think the quality is pretty decent even compared to clothes I've purchased at Nordstrom & some boutiques. Why pay $100 for a shirt when you can get one similar at Old Navy for so much less? One drawback is that their sale stuff at this location is usually heavily picked over in the men's & children's department. And I hate their shirts that say OLD NAVY all over them. I can easily overlook this because of their wide selection & helpful employees.

There is a collection of anime, manga, origami kits, cloths, blind boxes, houseware, kitchenware, art and posters, figures, DIY kits, Funko pops, gatcha machines, and a plethora of other Japanese treasures. On the right of the store next to the outside deck with tables, there is a Japanese food market with authentic imported pre-packed Japanese foods like instant ramen, different kinds of Japanese noodles, Japanese grocery items, snacks and chips, sweets and candy and ice cream, Japanese drinks and anime theme drinks. By the registers, there are free arcade games to play. I took my time walking through the store and looking at everything. It could be overwhelming at first. I really liked looking at the Sanrio, The Studio Ghibli Collection, and Pokemon items. I learned after that Arisu means "Alice" in Japanese and it's a tribute to their first store "Alice in the Village" which is also located in Olde Mystic Village. If you're in Olde Mystic Village, definitely stop by and take a look at Arisu Anime and Alice in the Village.

Last time I went, I grabbed some imported ramen and a cute pair of chopsticks. I'm planning to bring my kids next time since they're obsessed with anime and ramen. I thought it was cool that they have a little spot where you can make your ramen right there, and some people were even eating outside on the patio, it just adds to the whole vibe. I did notice that some stuff, like the Hello Kitty ramen I usually get at Target, was more expensive here, but honestly, the variety, the atmosphere, and how nice the staff is make it worth stopping by. We'll definitely be back, and I'll probably end up buying even more stuff next time.
