Revised menu. The restraunt has had a few changes. As with most restaurants, it is difficult to find good help. The drink station is self serve for water, tea, and sodas. Some of the prices have changed due to product cost going up. They are open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Friday is one of their busiest nights. You can now pay at the table if you are using a card. (There is a discount if you pay cash) We love this place for a nice meal on date night. The owners co.e around and talk to customers and get feedback. My favorite meal is the rib eye steak with green beans and smoked mac n cheese. What a great place! Camping down the road when we discovered this gem that was swarming with locals. They are only open Thursday-Saturday and they were packed. We started with fried pickles. Tasty. My sister was raving about this place, so we opted to not grill out and come here for dinner. Their hours are wonky but I promise it's worth it! They are typically open Fri/Sat from 5-9PM for dinner, and sometimes do breakfast from 8AM-10AM on Fri/Sat too. Check their Facebook page for details, Y'all, I was not prepared for this meal. We have lake property about 2 miles from this place (Mistletoe State Park is nearby) and this location used to be a grocery store in the past. So, my expectations were low. We've been coming up this way for 40+ years and never had Southern food that was so good! The place isn't large and maybe 10-12 tables inside. It doesn't look like much from the outside either. Nothing fancy. Even the food is served on paper plates. One tv, turned to football, will greet you walking in. They offer beer and wine here. As for the food, I can say you'll have at least one item here that'll knock your socks off (whether it's a side or entree). For me, it was their green beans and pecan pie with bourbon whip cream. The green beans are made with soy/bacon/brown sugar & are phenomenal! The pecan pie, by itself, was amazing ... but the bourbon whip cream on top made it the best slice I've ever had. You could taste the sweeter side of the bourbon in it. My bbq chicken entree was fall-off-the-bone good, and the roll was darn delicious. The entire party loved the firecracker chicken dip. My sister said the ribeye was the best she's had, and my gf loved her grilled shrimp meal. Our waiter was also funny and fast. Look, this place is worth making a trip to. This bbq place is amazing! The restaurant is not big in the inside but pretty roomy. Our server was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. Our ordered came fast, warm, and so delicious. The BBq was fell of the bone, the steak was generous and my son really enjoyed it. I had Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes and green beans, and my daughters had their burgers and mac and cheese. Everything that we ordered including our appetizer (fried pickle and fried mozzarella cheese) were so good and exactly what we need for our dinner that night! Also, we came close to The Masters event so their dessert was dedicated for the masters, which was peach ice cream pie that was mouthwatering amazing ice cream pie! All kids were serve ice cream with chocolate chips cookie or sugar cookie post dinner....jealous! Well, I didn't have the green beans or the desserts they are known for - but, what we did have to eat was outstanding!!! While camping - our group usually tries to find a local establishment nearby to the campground to experience some local fare. Since Baby Jo's is on the road leading to the campground we decided to take a chance on it. With rave reviews garnered from the campground hosts we went on a Thursday evening. The staff was professional while adding their local charm. We were seated quickly and the food arrived in a timely manner. The catfish was ordered by 2 in our party along with a pulled pork plate, a salad with grilled chicken (no picture taken - it was on the furtherest end of our table and I wanted to get to the eating part of the night) and I had the grilled shrimp. Sides included side salads, fries, sweet tater soufflé, and their signature smoked Mac & Cheese... No let letdowns here! The portion sizes were just right with some leftovers being brought back to the RV's. The price was spot on for the meals we enjoyed. If you're not from around here, and you drive by this place on the road to Mistletoe State park, you may either a) not realize its a restaurant or b) think I'm not eating there. Either would be a sad mistake. This is a gem hidden on a backroad. We were there with a group of eight from our RV club, camping at the State park. We had folks raised in Canada, Michigan and Washington State. None of them were expecting much and were not sure they wanted Southern Cooking. Baby Jo's made believers out of every single one of them. The catfish tasted like catfish, was fried perfectly. The ribs literally fell apart tender and great taste. The sides were very good, especially the smoked mac and cheese. But what really shone was the deserts. Peanut Butter Pie and a berry cobbler with ice cream. Nobody was going to have desert, the dinners were so large everyone was full. But then I ordered the cobbler and when it came out, several people changed their mind, then several more, finally the whole table ordered desert. Now, don't expect anything fancy. Paper plates, plastic forks, wine served in a plastic cup, beer in the bottle. All condiments in packages. If that bothers you, like it apparently did one reviewer, then don't stop here.
