It's a busy place, the only table was one without a light so the picture are dark. It's a buffet so service is good because the table was cleared of plates, but two booths had cups stacked so we couldn't sit there. The food was okay very bland... Our go to restaurant every time we have to go to Augusta. The service is good and the food is even better.

The food was decent given that it's a buffet. The fried chicken was delicious, but the rest of the food was just alright. Service was prompt since when I'm done eating on a plate, they cleared it out pretty quickly. On the bright side, it was busy when I went in there so food was never lukewarm, and the value of the meal is better than most fast food joints these days with inflation. read more

I don't normally go around giving 5 stars for a buffet place, but I just did! Maybe because bad service seems to be the norm nowadays(I bartended/waitressed for 20 yrs and it drives me nuts!)and I would rather stay home most times. Our server checked on us several times and took our used plates away when she did. She stayed moving and we kept her busy. It is a buffet after all! But let me back up for a minute. This place wasn't anything near what I thought we were going to eat. My cousin came to visit from ATL and I don't remember ever going to a buffet with her. She mostly likes fancy places or fusion for fun. So I was running behind schedule and told her while she was waiting, she could pick any place she wants. I was shocked when she said BJ's buffet. Because I love buffets. I always have and I always will. I was thrilled because I've never been and I've heard good things. I must've tried 95% of what they had to offer. Just a little bit of everything. OMG the fried chicken was the best! Everything about our visit to BJ's was above average. Even pulling up to a line of customers out of the door. Well, you can't beat the price. Mondays and Wednesdays are senior discount days with a dollar off already inexpensive prices. Each day of the week, they serve up different items which is good for variety. We went on a Monday and found the establishment to be about what you'd expect paying $12 for a buffet. The fried chicken was not that tasty but it sure was greasy! I also sampled the breaded shrimp which, again, were just OK. I thought the entire restaurant had a rather strange smell that was kind of a mix of the fried chicken smell added to a building smell that wasn't quite right. I was very disappointed in the dessert bar as it was slim pickings when we arrived and walked past and by the time we finished our meal, nothing had been replaced on the dessert bar which made me feel like I was grabbing the dregs. Again, for the price, you get decent food but I did not find it very enjoyable or overly pleasing. I doubt that we'll be going back. read more

Return trip here and it was great again. A full parking lot always is a good sign. Pay your way in and eat your way out. Ample selections of fresh made vegetables and a good selection of meats and even fried catfish too. Salad bar awesome with the standard toppings plus delicious chicken, potato and pasta salads... dessert bar too with fresh fruit and peach cobbler on the hot bar. The price for 2 people was 30$ which is high for the amount of food that was offered. The food was comparable to nursing home food with only a couple of choices that were good. Which is why I'm giving it such a low review. Very small selection and even smaller amount of actually good food, would have rather lost the 30$ gambling. read more

Some food is way too salty. I told the manager two different times now. I have heart and health issues salt can hurt me and some others. We will not be coming back and I won't recommend them to people either. Please use less salt and more safe seasonings in your foods. read more

I was actually surprised with this place. You can get a healthy meal if you choose wisely. There are so many vegetables on the buffet! It's just a little southern home cookin kind of place but everyone is nice and it's really cheap! The buffet was like less than $7 and there was quite a lot to choose from. This is a superb spot to enjoy home style cooking. The buffet is usually fresh, restocked on the regular. If it is caught at a down moment or time for change a simple request is all it takes. They are more than happy to oblige. Have seen the place clean and well kept in all viewable areas. The bar, the entrance, the lobby, the front, side, rear, and back areas of eating, the restroom area, the restroom, outside parking area, and even near the trash dumpster. The fried chicken is always delicious. Mac and cheese has been a plus. However, sometimes it hasn't been what is the super standard for. That's when i ask for another batch as it isn't what is considered for the bar. Fresh corn bread, flat green beans, country fried steak, chicken livers at times chicken gizzards. Fresh salad bar. The menu changes by the day of the week as it is on their weekly menu posted near the register along with take home versions. Staff has always been courteous and nice. Kindness is regularly shown within the location. Appears as if the employees who work out near the customers enjoy their work. All have shown and given just what is needed during this time of isolation and many persons having such cold unfriendliness as they often are freaking out on this mask wearing situation. Fearful of everyone and every situation. Although, still practicing social distancing and safe protocols within the resteraunt there still is the extension of kindness and common courteousy. Warm and friendly environment is welcoming treat. This is often preferred of all else in this day and time. Prices are reflective of COVID changes having to be made whereas, when businesses suffer the prices pass on to the customers. This place isn't any exception to this. We go there about once a week. Their buffett is excellent, and everything is Homemade. They always have a good selection of meats, vegetables, fruits & desserts as well as a full salad bar. The extra special thing is "our waitress, Amy". She is friendly and attentive. As soon as she sees us walk in, she gets our drinks and silverware & gets our table ready. There are several waitresses that really bust their tails to take care of the customers even though it's a buffet. Great place. read more
