I've taken two of their mommy-and-baby class series, and I loved both of them. Each series includes special touches like each week is a different topica mini photoshoot, a swim party, and so much more, which makes it absolutely worth every penny. Carmen, who helped lead the group, is amazing. She is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and always makes me feel heard. She gives thoughtful advice and truly cares about the moms and babies she works with. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does. I've also attended several music classes with Michelle, and those have been some of my favorites. My daughter absolutely loves music time, and Michelle does such a great job keeping the kids engaged and entertained. We truly love The Mommy Center and are so grateful for everything they offer!!

I highly recommend it to any expecting or new parent looking for support, education, and a welcoming community!

While scrubbing thru my inbox yesterday, i came across an email notifying me of an online charge for one of the online services that this business offers. Shortly after, I received a phone call from Dr. Novick himself regarding the charge. After explaining the situation, Dr. Novick agreed to cancel the charge and reassured me that the charge will be reserves into my cc within 3-5 business days. Thanks sir.

They replied promptly and answered all my questions. I decided to register with them. That evening I received a text from Howard Huhem, LMFT. He stated he would reach out to me in the next 24 hours to schedule the assessment. The following morning I received a text to let me know he was available to start the assessment or could schedule it for a later date / time. I was super impressed because I thought it would be a few days before the process even got started. Mr. Humen was very kind, understanding and nonjudgmental as we had our conversation. He had a genuine desire to get to know me, my background and even my hobbies. We shared a few stories around beaches we have enjoyed surfing and how things have changed over the years. Even though it was only a few minutes of talking, I immediately felt more comfortable and relaxed sharing details of my personal life with Mr. Humen. The assessment took only a few days, and it was very favorable to me as the client but also accurate. I have know other people who have taken similar assessments and had to take lengthy and expensive educational classes. My results did not require any classes which is great! If you need any type of assessment for work, court, or anything else, AJ Novick Group is your one stop shop. Ask for Howard, he is worth every penny and then some.

And honestly, I felt a little silly registering, assuming I'd "been there, done that." I could not have been more wrong. I was completely blown away by how much I learned, used, and genuinely needed. Each week brought in a different expert, and the range of knowledge was incredible. Everything from marriage and relationship tips to improve the flow of your household, to managing toddler behavior, baby and toddler sleep, even a professional that helped me identify diastasis recti. There was something valuable in every single session, no matter how many kids you already have at home. And then there's the community you build. Having a weekly group of intelligent, supportive women to lean on during one of the most overwhelming seasons of life was invaluable. Its the kind of thing you don't know you need until you experience it. Becca, our group leader and the owner, made all the difference in our group. She's warm, incredibly knowledgeable, and clearly has an amazing network of resources, because every week felt exactly like what we needed. Most of the baby-prepping material out there (books, magazines, apps, websites) are geared towards the Moms-to-be. So when a friend recommended something for Dads taught by Dads, I was intrigued. And I wasn't let down. The format - a bunch of dudes talking in a room, basically - is so simple and so helpful. We had one overall moderator, about 20+ Dads-to-be, and another 4 or 5 new Dads with their babies. We talked about our concerns, listened to suggestions, and interacted with the babies when possible. For someone who'd rarely been around infants, it was a great opportunity for me to really get past any fears I had. Even got to change a few diapers during the course of class, which once our little one arrived, prepared me better than any other class my wife and I had taken at the hospital. Have already recommended the class to friends and would absolutely encourage other Dads-to-be to attend. It's such a simple concept yet it was so immensely helpful.

Would I recommend this to A LOT of expecting fathers? Yes…read more My wife and I are in social circles where there are plenty of little ones around so we have some kid/baby experience. In addition we have done a lot of research to prepare for this new phase, making this class a bit redundant. I would recommend this class to you if: - You are uneasy holding a small/newborn baby. - If you have never heard that breastfeeding does not simply happen, but takes sustained effort. - You have never changed a diaper. THE CLASS COVERS WAY MORE THAN THOSE TOPICS, however, I feel the answers to those questions are good indicators as to whether or not you are a good candidate. I went to the one at Mission Hospital, so others will have different facilitators. The problem with a class full of expecting fathers with almost no baby experience (the target demographic) is that the broaching of a topic of serious consequence will happen. For example, the facilitator went on a 5-10 minute tangent extolling the virtues of the epidural. I know for a fact that a majority of the expecting fathers left that room feeling like their wives would need an epidural and that it, practically, would not be an option. To be clear, I have no problem with epidurals. I just feel that if you are going to sell anything to a group that is eager to learn (sponge), said group needs to know at the very least there are pros & cons. Here are a couple of tips if you are planning on going: 1. Take a few minutes to write down a couple of specific questions you'd like answered as there is some Q&A time. 2. Obviously you are going in looking to learn from fathers with more experience than you, however, please remember you need to do your own research, even if it backs up what they say. I will say that I picked up a few little practical tips and perspectives and it is nice to be in a 'men only' scenario where any question goes. Finally, I take one star out because of the lack of details on the epidural tangent and also because the class went about 15 minutes late.

We thought waking up 4-5 times a night and feeding her was normal and we were doomed to a life without rest. Joanna's detailed questionnaire and phone consultation helped put our mind's at ease and her guidance throughout comforted us in VERY uncomfortable situations when not under expert supervision (baby crying while falling asleep). My only criticism, as we paid for the support, was that some calls we scheduled were missed (we didn't receive a call or the call time was missed by enough to mention it) but the quality of her service makes up for this as she always took the time to answer all questions so the abovementioned isn't enough to affect my 5-Star review. For the prices she charges, we were very happy with the level of service! It's absolutely worth the cash and my 6-month old slept from 7:30pm to 6:30am this weekend!

She did a comprehensive assessment and discussed what we valued and what we needed to make this successful. For me-- I was uncomfortable with any amount of extended crying. She heard my concerns and she developed a sleep training plan to get our daughter sleeping independently in her crib for naps and overnight. Joanna hosts a daily call which is very helpful for asking questions and confirming we made the right call the night before. This was especially helpful for me because I doubted myself constantly. Our daughter now is an EXCELLENT sleeper. Hands down best money we ever spent.
