We had good friends and family refer us to Baby Sleep Concierge when our newborn had trouble sleeping through the night. We thought waking up 4-5 times a night and feeding her was normal and we were doomed to a life without rest. Joanna's detailed questionnaire and phone consultation helped put our mind's at ease and her guidance throughout comforted us in VERY uncomfortable situations when not under expert supervision (baby crying while falling asleep). My only criticism, as we paid for the support, was that some calls we scheduled were missed (we didn't receive a call or the call time was missed by enough to mention it) but the quality of her service makes up for this as she always took the time to answer all questions so the abovementioned isn't enough to affect my 5-Star review. For the prices she charges, we were very happy with the level of service! It's absolutely worth the cash and my 6-month old slept from 7:30pm to 6:30am this weekend! read more

We never really considered getting a sleep coach-- we thought we should be able to figure out how to get our child to sleep (should be natural, right?! ... wrong) Joanna has a clinical approach to sleep training which was important to me. She did a comprehensive assessment and discussed what we valued and what we needed to make this successful. For me-- I was uncomfortable with any amount of extended crying. She heard my concerns and she developed a sleep training plan to get our daughter sleeping independently in her crib for naps and overnight. Joanna hosts a daily call which is very helpful for asking questions and confirming we made the right call the night before. This was especially helpful for me because I doubted myself constantly. Joanna worked wonders for our baby. He was up every 2 hours at night, and naps were inconsistent and short. We tried what seemed like everything, and finally decided to bring in some outside help. We called Joanna the first week of January. She came by, met baby and interviewed my wife and I to determine what plan would work best. In a couple days, she delivered a very thorough plan for improving baby's sleep. We saw improvement in the first week, and continued to see rapid improvement each week thereafter. Around 8 weeks later, he only wakes up once around 2:00 to feed, and sleeps in til 6-7 every morning. His naps are great, and he is much happier. We had a few setbacks that required her assistance after our program expired. We bought some more phone support which worked great, she is responsive and patient. I can not say enough good things about Joanna Martindale and All Things Behavior. Many years ago I worked with Joanna in a special education classroom and I was immediately impressed with her innate skills and abilities as a behaviorist. She was firm yet caring and kind, and the students she worked with made such great progress. After working with Joanna, the kids went from not being able to sit in a classroom and complete a simple task without an outburst, to learning how to calmly come in, get to their seats and start their day. Here I am now years later and I have found myself retaining Joanna's services for my own family. Though my son is developing typically, he has struggled with sleep issues since he was born. At almost 2 years old my son has never slept more than 3 hours straight and now he is up every hour or hour and a half. Needless to say, I'm more than a little tired!! After reading what feels like every book on baby sleep as well as every website and mom forum, I was pretty much resigned to the idea that my son just wasn't going to sleep through the night, at least not anytime soon. All of that changed when I discovered All Things Behavior. I found out that Joanna had added baby/ child sleep consultation and training to her list of services and jumped at the chance to have her help me. As soon as I reached out to Joanna, she sent me the Toddler Sleep Questionnaire and Intake Form, which in and of itself set her services apart from other things I had read. Her questions were all encompassing and very well rounded, and they made me take into consideration things that I had never thought about as affecting my son's sleep. I sent the completed form back to Joanna and within in a couple days I had a very detailed step by step sleep plan to put into action. As with the questions on the intake form, the sleep plan itself was all encompassing too. It included scientific and biological information regarding sleep and toddlers, as well as common knowledge and practical information. The great thing about Joanna is that she presents information in a way that is easy to follow and just makes sense. Nothing in her sleep plan seemed too daunting which my husband and I really appreciated as we have been terrified of sleep training! While reading the plan I could tell that Joanna really took my family and me and our particular situation into account; the plan was absolutely specific to us and not a template that she just added our names too. I also really appreciated that she gave me some side notes about how to prep my son for big changes (moving and me going back to work) I had mentioned in passing. While we have had the plan in our possession for a few days now we have had to push the sleep training start date back a few days for various reasons. I have however started putting some of the steps into practice and not only do I feel more confident doing them, my son has been way more receptive than I thought he would be. I can not wait until we can officially begin because I know we have a great plan to follow. Our newborn was having trouble sleeping independently (she would really only sleep if we were holding her or wearing her in the carrier), and I did a mini consult with Joanna over the phone and it was so helpful. She asked a bunch of questions to really get a good understanding of the situation and our baby's personality, and recommended a few tricks that ultimately ended up working to help get our baby to sleep independently. I walked away from our call feeling confident that I could implement her suggestions immediately. We didn't need to really follow-up after the call, but it was reassuring to know we could reach out again if needed. I spoke with Joanna on a Friday and by the end of the weekend our baby was giving us good stretches of sleep without being held. I would definitely recommend Joanna to any family that is having sleep issues with their baby or toddler. We had great experience working with Joanna from Baby sleep concierge to help our spunky 16 month old daughter get some much needed sleep. She did a very thorough behavior review and then came up with a plan that allowed us to transition our daughter to going to sleep on her own without nursing to sleep. I had tried similar methods at an earlier age, and at that time I don't believe my daughter was ready. With Joanna's guidance and assurance, I felt confident my daughter was ready for a new bedtime routine, and she is now going to bed with minimal, if any crying. We reached out to Joanna to transition our 3 month old away from naps while held and sleeping at night in a Rock N Play. The Hold My Hand package was the perfect amount of assistance, and having Joanna come to our house to meet with us and assess the nursery was great! Although our baby seemed too young for a rigid schedule, Joanna helped us to understand the importance of routine and creating consistency in nighttime wind down. We feel we reached out at just the right time and managed to bypass the dreaded 4 month sleep regression with Joanna's help. I can't say enough good things about Joanna and All Things Behavior! She meets with you for an initial consult to create a custom sleep plan that will work for you. She understands that it is not a one size fits for all and finds out what you are comfortable with to create your specific plan. It is so tough knowing how to get your baby to sleep and nap properly. With her expertise and knowledge, she helped me understand about the baby sleep cycles and how important it is to "teach" your baby to connect the cycles. She was always available for whatever questions I had, big or small. Our baby has slept from 7-7 since three months thanks to Joanna! Joanna Martindale helped me get my toddler to nap! When my daughter was 17 months, I had my son. With all the change, my daughter went down to one 45 minute nap per day and would not go down for her nap easily. No matter what I tried, she would not sleep longer and she was really grumpy all the time. She was a consistent 11.5 hour night sleeper, but hated napping. Joanna made a sleep plan for me to follow that she tailored to my situation of having a newborn. After following Joanna's sleep plan, my daughter started taking 2 hour naps! She just turned 2 and is still taking 2 hour naps. She goes down really easily and even if she wakes up in the middle of her nap, she can easily put herself back to sleep. Joanna gave me some suggestions that I would never have thought of on my own and did not see the million times I googled "how to get a toddler to nap longer".
