I have a high-risk pregnancy and asked one of the doctors at Maternal Fetal Medicine Associates for f they could recommend a place that does prenatal classes, and the only place they recommended was BabyZone. I am so glad they did! My husband and I took three classes: Baby Basics 101 and a Childbirth class with Dominique, and infant and child CPR with Evelyn. They were both amazing and not only have tons of experience, but are really big on evidence and research based recommendations, which are invaluable. Being pregnant and high risk is scary (especially as a soon-to-be first-time parent), and having the science presented is so reassuring that I will know what to do that isn't the opinion of someone on the internet. You have no idea how important that is, and essential that is, and how rare that can be to find in a class. Classes are small, too! We had a max of 6 (3 couples) in Dominique's classes, which was great and allowed the classes to be tailored to the needs and concerns of the parents (and babies!). As a bonus, both Dominique and Evelyn are amazing, kind, and generous people who will stay after class to answer any and all of your questions. I cannot more highly recommend BabyZone! read more

Both the Child/Infant CPR class and the Childbirth Prep: Crash Course were incredibly insightful and helped us better understand what to expect and feel more confident and prepared. After our baby was born I was looking for a lactation consultant who would do home visits and ended up working Dominique - not only is she incredibly knowledgeable with literally anything related to babies, she's also such a kind, encouraging, and supportive person to be around. Our experience with Baby Zone was beyond amazing! We took the Infant CPR with Evelyn and a private Birth Crash Course with Dominique. They both were extremely informative and attentive. Infant CPR: I believe it is crucial to take this class. Evelyn not only taught us the necessary hands-on skills of CPR, but more importantly she helped us understand that it is all about prevention. Many accidents can be avoided by being mindful and aware of your surroundings and be observant of your baby's behavior. Birth Crash Course: I had the most rested sleep that night after taking Dominique's course! It was a very therapeutic experience for me, she walked us through the whole process of what to expect before and during labor. My wife and I did the delivery crash course, for a two hour private session at our place (Dominque came over). She was great. Dominique knows the drill, both from being a great nurse and from having delivered twins herself. This was much, much better than all the books we read! Dominique was incredible! I contacted her after my newborn lost too much weight and had high bilirubin levels. My son wasn't properly latching and I needed to start supplementing with formula. I was a wreck and spending nearly my entire day trying to feed between attempting to still breastfeed, while also pumping and formula feeding. After working with Dominique that all changed. I could rely on my breast milk, felt confident in feeding, and had a plan going forward. Also her burping method is amazing and that alone is worth meeting with her. Dominique is phenomenal! I had 2 amazing sessions with her the week my daughter was born. My daughter wasn't latching. In the first couple of mins she told me that my daughter was tongue tied and referred me to a great doctor. She spent hours working with me and brought all the necessary tools to help with the latch. She is so sweet and comforting. As a first time mom I was constantly worried..she put me to ease and told me I was doing a good job. She also gave us tips on helping her sleep and was overall a wonderful experience. I highly recommend her if you're baby is having issues latching. My wife and I, along with another expecting couple, asked Dominique to teach a private class at our apartment in the months leading up to our baby's due date. The class was extremely informative, and having the opportunity to ask the questions we had (regardless of how ridiculous they were in our minds) was really nice. It is very apparent that Dominique has a passion for her profession as a nurse, and more so as a mom. She explained the ins and outs of what to expect at home, at the hospital, and post delivery in the clearest of ways (with some great tips to help along the way). My husband and I did the two hour birthing class and baby basics class with Dominique. Dominique is such a nice person. She is so relatable and explains things in an easy to understand manner. She is a lactation consultant and nurse and has obviously been present for many births, but has been through it herself with twins! She is a L&D nurse who was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything in an easily understood way without making us feel bad about anything we didn't know. We also received a powerpoint deck of the class to take home with us to reference. I took a lot away from it, and I read up on this stuff every day! My husband probably benefited even more, since he doesn't research as much as I do. The Baby Basics class was taught by Evelyn and we were joined by two other couples. Evelyn was very passionate about the subject and we received hands on practice (with dolls). As with the Childbirth class, we received a deck of the class to take home and reference. To be honest, I was sticker shocked when I initially saw how much the classes cost, but in the end, I was very happy with the investment we made. read more

My husband and I took the Newborn Child Care course and the Childbirth Course, we were highly impressed to say the least. The teachers are fantastic, very hands on, very informative and extremely knowledgable. You can tell they love their jobs and they love meeting expectant parents. The resources we took from these courses have immensely helped us in feeling prepared for our little bundle of love and calmed our fears. The class was taught by Evelyn, a warm and engaging pediatric ICU nurse with 30+ years of experience. My husband and I took the CPR and Labor and Delivery class with Dominique. Both classes were incredibly informative and really prepared us for the arrival of our babe. During the first days after delivery I was having trouble nursing and was going to have to start formula. I called Dominique and she moved her schedule around so she could come and help us immediately. Dominique identified the issue and I have been successfully nursing since her visit. Dominique is a warm, friendly, and very professional nurse who came to our apartment for the 3-hour crash course we signed up for. My husband and I took her labor and delivery course, which was so informative that we also booked a Baby Basics course with her. Following the birth of my daughter, I relied on Dominique for lactation support, and later for assistance with sleep training. Thanks to her help, breastfeeding - which was once arduous and painful - has become something I look forward to. The guidance Dominque provided is based on her years of experience as a L&D nurse, but her compassion as a mother shines through. During our one-on-one sleep training sessions, Dominique laid out a schedule that I was able to follow even when she wasn't there to guide me in person. When she arrived at my home for lactation and sleep training sessions, I often found myself too tired to recall all of the questions I had, but Dominique kept us on track, thinking of things I couldn't in my new-mom fog, and taking notes along the way. My husband & I were fortunate enough to attend a Childbirth Preparation at Baby Zone NYC. The information provided in this class is invaluable, to say the least. The class gives you very direct information on what will happen through the labor & delivery process at NYC hospitals. I loved this class for the amount of medical terminology used to really help me understand what I will be going through. This wasn't a kumbaya or hand-holding type of class. This class gives you exactly what you need to ease any anxiety you may have about the birthing and delivery process. My husband & I felt so much more relaxed after leaving this class. All of our questions were answered thoroughly and the exercises that were set up throughout the class simulate what you can expect during the delivery process. A great part of this training was also getting the fathers-to-be actively involved in how they can help their wives during delivery. We will be taking the Infant and Child CPR class in a few weeks and again am looking forward to getting a thorough training to help me put my mind at ease before the birth of our first child.
