Their smoothie section is inside of a grocery store, which added to the confusion. The multiple lines here made it confusing since they had a cafe and bakery section and another section for food items. I eventually found out I was supposed to order Erewhon drinks from the tablet instead of wait in line and then later found out I was waiting in the wrong section to pick up my drink. I ordered the Blueberry SYRN smoothie from Sydney Sweeney through the tablet. After waiting about least half an hour, that was when I was told where to pick up my drink that I ordered on the tablet. The drink still looked pretty when I picked it up, but it didn't taste like anything special. The smoothie still tasted good though, so not much to complain about that, besides the high price tag of their drinks (it was $22). Now, enough about the smoothie section, the rest of this store looked very well organized with their products and it looked like they sell good quality items here. The store looked organized because I liked how they had all the labels facing out, unlike other stores with their drinks section. The meats and sushi section looked fresh, they have a colorful variety of fruits and veggies too. They also give some free food samples throughout the store, so that was nice. I'd recommend this place for the experience. It's cool how this is a grocery store where you can buy fresh food and drinks here. It's also a good place if you're looking for some colorful veggies.

The process was definitely different from a regular doctor visit, but honestly, it was a really interesting experience. Since the practitioner doesn't speak English, I translated my symptoms into Chinese using Google Translate and showed him my phone. He checked my tongue and pulse very carefully before writing out a custom herbal tea prescription entirely in Chinese characters. You then take the prescription to the front counter where they prepare the herbs into 5 separate bags. Each bag lasts 2 days, and you boil the herbs for about an hour, strain the tea, and save the rest for the next day. I'm not going to lie -- the tea tastes STRONG. Very earthy, bitter, and honestly like dirt lol. Each boiled tea bag yields 24-32 oz. that needs to be consumed warm, preferably in one sitting after lunch. It was hard to drink, but after finishing my first cycle (10days) I noticed a huge improvement in my symptoms. They explained that most people do 2-3 cycles using the same prescription for full results. I genuinely feel a lot better. I paid $20 for consultation + $85 for the tea. If you use the prescription and 2nd time you only pay for the tea of $85. They take credit cards but there is a $6 transaction fee.

I believe this is harassment and retaliation for my unfavorable review. I was also told that Miguel de Alba learned the employee had spoken with me and then told everyone not to let me in. After the original incident, I stopped going to the store. I returned only because an employee approached me, told me Miguel de Alba was gone, and encouraged me to come back. That same employee later told me that Miguel de Alba had instructed employees not to let me in. I was accused of shoplifting and prevented from leaving the store. There was security-camera footage of the incident, so the owners can review it and see what happened for themselves. I believe it is unacceptable for a manager to ban a customer because of an unfavorable review, especially after the customer was accused of theft and prevented from leaving. I also believe it is unacceptable for management to involve employees and other store locations in what appears to be an ongoing effort to keep me out and punish me for speaking publicly about my experience. Because of these events, I no longer feel safe returning to this store or visiting other locations in my neighborhood. I believe the way I have been treated amounts to harassment. I still appreciate the employees who have treated me well and believe the food is good. My concerns are specifically about Miguel de Alba, the management, and the way this business has handled my complaint. I will not be returning or attempting to resolve this directly with Miguel de Alba. I am documenting my experience and would still welcome direct communication from the owner.

Everyone is always so friendly here. They always seem to be upgrading the interior as well, and it's small but they do have some window seating along with a few outdoor tables. On this visit, I got the OG Avocado Toast. The avocado was perfectly ripe and fresh, and a heaping portion was served over their toasted olive bread. It's a pretty simple preparation. I probably would have preferred the Mediterranean version, as the tomatoes on this weren't my fave and there was raw red onion mixed into the avo so I wasn't able to pick it out. Next time, I'll have to request it without the onion. I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu items.

They have rows and rows of jars filled with herbs, teas and spices along with herbal remedies and vitamins all at reasonable prices. I love this concept and I love the fact that it's still in operation. I've come here for dried milk thistle, whole flax seeds, chamomile flowers, dried mint, star anise, and a "cold & flu" tea that made me gag at first but felt nice after I got used to the overwhelming taste. So far, I've been satisfied with all of my purchases. My main concern about this place is that I have no way of knowing how long these items have been in the jars and if they come from a reputable source. I also wish that the people who work here were more knowledgeable. They couldn't answer any of my simple questions about their inventory. You're basically on your own and have to tell them what you want and they'll get it for you.
