At least that has been what I have experienced unless I go to the big chain liquor store. Vineyard is something completely different. There are rows of spirits and a well stocked cooler. The difference here is the customer service. You will greeted when you walk in, you will get asked if you need help, they make you feel like family. Their selection is great and the staff is knowledgeable. My husband and his family that live in the area have been going there for years. This is a local business that I love to support.

Valorie makes sure everything from wines to all different liquors and accessories are available. Terry is expert on craft brews and beer in general. My friends who do beer tell me "Terry knows his stuff". Jake is bringing in all the top shelf liquor. I prefer whiskey and Jake has ordered some specialties and full barrels that are unique. Recently, a barrel of blue popcorn whiskey from Whiskey Acres was a product that hit me by surprise. Special barrels from Elijah Craig and another from Makers Mark coming soon. Top brands like Belle Meade Bourbon as well conventional brands like Jack Daniels and Jim Beam product lines can all be bought here. You will feel like family when you visit the store and always greeted as a long lost friend.

The inside is small, so this is great for a group of 4 or less ideally - but they really do make the most out of their space. There's lots of seating around the bar. When it's nice out, they also open the outside area for even more seating, which is nice to see. What I didn't love is that most of the chairs are those godforsaken metal chairs that anyone over 30 years old most likely has beef with (or is it just me?). also adding, this may have just been the time we went but oh god there were so many kids running around in there. It honestly took away from the vibe. With the kids and the chairs, we unfortunately could only do one drink here. Would love to check it out when it's more of an adults only time.

Une Annee is one of the reasons to go to this pretty boring looking suburb. Hit up the bar for some cold ones plus on site made food. The prices aren't bad for craft beers and kitchens. A pretty impressive looking building. It's big and can fit hundreds. This is like a massive garage with a bar and a kitchen. First though it's a brewery. It's about $6 a pint. The one I liked the most was the Twist Of Wit. It's a wheat beer with Cara Cara oranges, coriander, and Meyer lemon. Tasted fruity but not too much. Also we got some food, which was actually good for a brewery. Vegan options are limited but there's a few. It's $6 for the Veggie Chili. This is vegan without the sour cream sauce. Also there's barbecue. There's pork belly and that kind of stuff. Beers are the best things to get here. It also has food from an on site kitchen. There's meaty options like pork and there's chili for vegetarians.

So are you ready for my recap of our bourbon-rye-scotch whiskey tasting--I'll give it a shot!…read more Three tiers within each category (low, middle and HIGH)--within each category--that's some whiskey business. We had guests dropping by--so the house was neat. Once our friends were there--it was full of spirits. They had to score all the whiskeys, identify if it was bourbon, rye or scotch, and whether the bottle was a premium brand or top shelf--and this put everyone in a dram good mood. It was a barrel of laughs, I could barley get in a word edgewise. But that's ok, I had to grain and bear it. Some spirited arguments broke out over which was the highest priced bottle -- but fortunately no friendships were on the rocks over it. Did everyone enjoy the event?
