As an earlier review stated I would also give them negative stars if I could. They are by far the most negligent property managers I've ever come across. I would hire a lawyer if you're going to have to deal with them in any capacity. The second they take over a property I'd start looking at relocating someplace else. They are extremely difficult to reach and usually renege on anything they tell you over the phone or email. Their staff are as lazy as humanly possible. Their office is 20 miles from the building and they won't come in person to drop off keys. They left the heat on in the main building all summer. The first month they took over they left no contact information or details on how to pay rent since they changed the entire online system. Myself and several others had no way to pay rent for the first month they were here. I know several people have been moving out since they took over. It's been several months since they took over managing the property and the building still isn't listed on their website. I can only imagine the owner is losing money every month since they took over. If they take over management of your building I'd immediately start looking at relocating someplace else or hire a lawyer to make sure they don't screw you and to hold them accountable to their legal responsibilities as a landlord. If you're looking at renting from a building they manage I'd steer clear unless you like dealing with negligent property managers who will probably screw you over. read more

I would have given them negative stars if I could have but unfortunately that was not an option. I had heard from friends not to rent from them but they took over mgmt of the building I was already living in so I had no choice. They don't take care of things, they either don't respond quickly or don't respond at all & that snake Ronda who handles check outs will try & rip you off anyway she can - just idiotic and unfair charges for things that aren't your fault no matter how bad of a dump the place you live in is. read more

I am yet another reviewer who is very disappointed. If I could give them negative amount of stars I would. Save your time, money, and mental well being. Do not rent from this company. They overcharge 3-4x for everything. They ignore renters rights, and charge for normal wear and tear. Absolutely asanine, and to see others commenting that have experienced much of the same as my family. They should be ashamed of themselves. Plenty locals in Superior have nothing but negatives about Bachand Group. If you move into one of their properties, document, document, documents. Even record on your phone as you do. And do the same upon move out. Do not let them lie, and make you feel unheard. Remember you have every right to dispute the charges. They never even brought me to court. Why is that you think? Watched my daughter and her family go through this nightmare. The Bachand Group made a difficult move and transition worse by withholding their security deposit and charging them for bogus damages upon move out that were well documented and never fixed prior to their moving in!! They are unresponsive and irresponsible landlords. Tenant beware!!! read more

Bachand manages a few of my rentals. There fee is industry norm, and if there was an issue they called me to see if I wanted their staff to rememdy or if I had my own person I used. I will say sometimes it is a little tougher to get a response back as I think they pass things through channels. They do a thorough move-in inspection, which they have the new tenant sign off on, and they do a thogough move-out inspection. While there prices for items or damage may seem a bit high, and I agree with that, remember, they are not supposed to be there with a lightbulb, or with the stuff to fix a damaged wall, they are in the business of property management. If you hire a plumber or electrician, you pay extra for the parst they carry with them, because if they have to go pick up a part, guess what, you are charged their hourly rate for travel. I kind of think thats how the repair philosophy is, and should be. That is my opinion, leave it as nice as you had it and you should not have a problem, if a bulb is out, replace it. Usually, I am one to not complain. However, this company should warn other people. They would get 0 star if it was possible. They have moved and updated their office however their employees and work ethic does not reflect how nice their new office looks. Good luck reaching anyone or getting call backs without hounding or stopping into the office. read more

One of the worst companies by far. Had stolen property and cars broken into on both separate occasions. Asked them to place a motion sensor light. They did- but it never worked. Then our apartment had a mouse infestation- they were of no help and didn't supply ANY materials to rid the rodents. Not to mention the multiple fees for "processing" when I paid in-person each month. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! read more

We left our rental better off than it was when we moved in. When we asked to do a final walk-through on our move out date Bachand stated they weren't available but would do it the next week when we weren't there. We didn't hear back for 3 weeks, despite attempting to contact them, and they ended up withholding over $700 of our security deposit. Claiming things such as $50 to pick up 2 pieces of cardboard after the recycling bin was tipped over after our move out date. $50 for ceiling water stains due to a leaking roof which we notified maintenance about. $125 for a cupboard shelf that never existed in the first place. $100 for shoveling a driveway that was clear on our move-out. Also multiple claims for multiple repairs we had noted on our initial walk through and submitted to them but they wouldn't acknowledge. When attempting to contact them afterward they took weeks to reply to emails and wouldn't return voicemail messages. I would have to assume they likely make the same charges to multiple renters - things like phantom shelves - and probably never actually make the repair after move-out. Very disappointed. read more

Absolute joke. Been over a year since they installed my toilet, still haven't come back to finish caulking it. Contacted them last winter about a mice infestation. SURPRISE, never heard back. Dealt with it on my own and now they're back. I'll call but I'm sure I'll never get anywhere with them anyway. DO NOT RENT FROM BACHAND. Awful. read more

I am not one to complain. However, this company does not deserve any stars. When I first moved into the property I was renting through Bachand, I was discusted by how filthy the house was; cobwebs in the corners, trash all around the yard, feces around the toilet...could not believe it hadn't been cleaned before I moved in. After filling out my renter's inspection sheet, I was not offered a renter's credit for the mess, even after a phone call and message was left at their home office. Absolutely terrible at returning calls. A washer, dryer and about 8 cans of paint were on the property prior to my move in date. The employee who showed the house to me and my room mates insisted that the appliances were the current tentants. Our initial contract stated the only appliances were the refrigerator and hot water tank. It was very frustrating to have to fight to get the money back over items that were CLEARLY present in the first place. Why wouldn't they be more organized so future tenants wouldn't get charged for these items, too? Upon ending my lease with the company these items (washer,dryer and paint cans) were taken out of my security deposit! Additionally, a small window in the dining room, as well as the living room window NEVER had screens covering them. This company charged my room mates and I over $150 for the "missing screens," THAT WERE NEVER THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. I did not note this on my renter's inspection sheet because how could I when they were never there? One of my room mates personally visited their home office in Superior, Wisconsin to inquire about the confusing charges. He was told they would look into them and get back to us. A few days after they did get back to us, only to say they could give us a measly $45 back. When I inqurired about the window screens we were charged for, we got disconnected...which I still find to be very coincidental. I immediately called back and got the voicemail. They have still not called me back after I called two days after and left another message. I wanted to know if they had proof these windows had screens or not? It is extremely dishonest and rude of them to not contact us back. Although it would be nice to get our hard-earned money back for something that was never there in the first place, this issue really has more to do with this company's greed to screw people over. Being an absent owner I trusted them to look out for my Home. I had a problem tenant, I had to evict. So I hired Bachand to Clean up the mess. Over $10,000 later,Granted it had been trashed. I was not there, Still don't see how it added up to two ten yard dumpsters, I thought it was clean. But it was still unacceptable. This is Jan-July. I came home in July 4 weekend to find a dirty house. When I left I thought the house was ready but I forgot I lost my dehumidifier and the the house got mildew damage in the coming weeks. In late August, new clients want to rent it. The company did not do any pre-inspection to make sure the house was acceptable to Show. The client left not coming back. This is a 350K lake home. The Company does not have a clue how to manage your personal property. They did a lousey job of cleaning my house to get it ready to rent. Then I had to fly home again to find they left damages I would of had them fix. NO pre- Inspection? after 2 months? Rather than re-keying my expensive locks, they just took them off and threw them away, put on cheap crap. no phone call to advise. You think your working with professionals, They are not.
