If you have ever been…read moreto a Cabela's it's kinda what you'd expect just not quite as over the top as some of the extremely large locations. Anything outdoors wise and hunting/fishing it is a solid option. Likely paying more than some other avenues of buying the items, but maybe you can get lucky with a sale. They have staff as soon as you enter trying to sell you on being a member and what not, annoying but can walk past them. It was nice enough to browse for awhile and waste time. Despite not being the largest Cabela's it is still very large. Also for yourself or if you have young ones seeing the animal displays is a great reason to stop by as well. I suspect the quality here has gone down in some part back when Bass Pro Shops acquired Cabela's considering they were the biggest competition of each other. Leading to a worse deal for us the consumers. Potential to be a favorite store for some!

I was shopping for my other 1/2 who loves Hawaiian style shirts. One of the staff was in the area, he assisted in my finding the perfect shirts & I bought him shorts plus a few other ditties. The gentleman in glass wear assisted in tightening my sunglasses & kindly cleaned them. The guy in menswear was more than helpful. The checkout pro heard a big crash when I was pulling gear out of my cart at his register. Those big candles make a thunderous noise. Oops. He was super cool & I was checked out quickly. I will return to add their names. All 3 deserve kudos for their professionalism & kind temperament. They are a +plus+ for Cabela's!! I'm sure they've some doozies which in fact happened to me at a 2nd visit. I saw a very young female in an outfit made more for "street-walking" opposed to Cabela's outfitters. Wearing a barely there outfit leaving too much hanging around with a pair of 4" pumps teetering through the aisles wasn't working. If the fit was more fitting all the more power. Some parts are better left unseen. With that being said I've likely dealt with variable situations in my youth. (My mother would call this unbecoming rip ) Cabela's is great!! Ty!!!

I also have giant, flat, bunion-bedecked flippers that are notoriously hard to fit--which isn't a problem here, because they scan your feet to get a 3D model (cool!) and then spend all the time you need to find exactly what fits. I tried on numerous pairs and the nice young man helping me was very knowledgeable and never rushed me at all. I ended up with a new brand I'd never heard of before (Topo) and they've been fantastic--comfortable from the very first wear. With wonderful service like this, it's no wonder I recently went back to get another pair for walking and trails (updated Brooks model this time). My feet (and knees) are SO much happier now that I have the right fit. Prices seem to be standard list (not sure if there are sales), but that's OK; the 60-day return policy is very generous and I appreciate that they want to make sure you're happy with what you buy. Tip: yes, it may be busy here, especially on a weekend--there's usually someone running a list at the front (or ask at the counter), so just give them your name and they'll get to you!

Before yesterday my experience at Johnson's was positive I have also recommended you to many other divers. After my experience yesterday at your Portland location I will no longer be doing business or recommended you to anyone, I will probably let everyone know about my negative experience there. I stopped to get my tank filled Saturday August 12 around 11 am the woman started to asking me about my certification I very politely told her about my scuba education then offered her to see my card. She then went on to accuse my card of not being me but this is the same card she has accepted over 20 times. I then provide her with my driver's license to prove who I was. My hair is a little longer but the picture most definitely looks like me. I was just in the shop around the end of June to have the tanks vis and hydro she had no problem accepting my card then. After being treated with such disrespect and being giving such a hard I told her I was just thinking about taking my tanks and getting them filled elsewhere and this point she started yelling at me telling me to leave. I come from family of scuba diver and have been all over the world scuba diving been in many dive shops and I have never been treated so poorly I completely shocked and bothered how your employee treated me. I feel your employee owe me a personal appolgy it's almost like she was having a bad day and took it out on me it was the older lady with red hair

Sasha helped me and she was great, making sure everything worked for my body and my needs. I also brought in my daughter's stuff because we had problems with the boots and bindings (marketplace purchase because we weren't sure she'd stick with it). I expected to have to buy new bindings. They didn't sell me anything that I didn't need and they shared all of their experience to help us solve the problem. I am SO thankful for everything they shared, there is no way we'd have reached that point on our own. We worked with Travis and Matt who were really awesome. I definitely recommend coming here if you have any issues or unique needs, or if you need a new setup or are a beginner. Also, stop in just for your regular stuff! I have conservatively spent over $4000 at this establishment over the past several years, and I keep coming back despite the profound lack of customer service that I've experienced previously. But they're the only show in town, and what can you do right? Well, today was the last straw. I was literally the only customer in the store. Not only did nobody ask me if I need it any assistance, but while I was browsing in the children's section, one of their technicians walked by me, kicked me in the shins, bumped me into the clothing rack and didn't apologize or say excuse me. He didn't even acknowledge that I was there. It's bad enough that most ski bums are drunk or high while they're working, in addition to being allergic to basic customer service. It's even worse when they assault you while they're ignoring you. I will never, ever ever ever set foot in an Arlberg again.

I sadly forget the name of the gentleman who helped me, but buying shoes for something as niche as cycling can be a little intimidating when you're not a pro. He not only helped me find the perfect pair but also shared so much valuable knowledge about clipped-in shoes, techniques, all the different types. It was such a great interaction that I decided to become a member on the spot. I won't go too deep into the membership since it's not specific to this store, but it basically pays for itself after a few purchases thanks to the 10% back and free shipping on everything online. I then browsed around and was impressed by everything they carry, from well-known outdoor brands to local ones.
