The hall space was clean, nice and big. I had enough space for all my guest and everything. Gea, the lady that works there. Dida great job helping us set up and made sure we had everything and very sweet lady. I would highly recommended it to someone that looking for a place to have their next party at.

When we arrived she had just pulled in the same time as us. Nothing was unlocked. She did not know where everything was at, not even the light switches. As she was showing us around, the lady GINA was more concerned about how SHE wanted us to do things and HER idea of our wedding than ours made us feel like we were there for HER. No matter what we said or how much we said we had everything worked out HER idea or way was better. She always had a better place to get things or do things. (It made us wonder if she got a kickback) This lady needs a wake up call a realize she is showing a POLICE HALL and is not a wedding planner! As for the property...This is a police lodge NOT a banquet center. Thank goodness for our GPS because there is no address or sign that says powell banquet center! If you get past that deception you approach the building to obvious lack of care. As you dodge the craters in the parking lot that are just waiting to swallow your tires you see this appealing building. After the crater field you get out of your car and approach the door to broken benches, peeling window tint, and the door pull was broken on the inside. After you enter the building keep looking at eye level. If you look up or down you will see a huge difference. The walls have been updated and are the cleanest thing there. Then you look down and there is the lack luster of a pink tile floor that reminds you of your days in school. They were not clean nor polished. As you enter the kitchen you are greeted by your grandmas brown wood kitchen cabinets with brand new commercial chefs stove with a run down rusty commercial refrigerator, and a household refrigerator/freezer. I was then taken outside to a shelter house with blown over trash cans that were full of trash. The property itself was rough around the edges. The grass was mowed, but there were sticks, and you can see the overgrown of the woods approaching! There was a beautiful gazebo overlooking a pond. Since my wedding was in the spring I asked about the landscaping and I was assured it would be perfect! (I don't think so!) There was a red stained concrete walkway that my fiance said needed to be sealed or would look horrible before or wedding. He also was concerned about the trees above the wedding guests that were untrimmed. While out there she once again Gina had her own ideas of out wedding. At that point I did all I could just to get out. Pros: Very nice gazebo on a pond. Lots of Parking Bring your own caterer (huge saving) Supply your own alcohol (huge savings) Use of Kitchen Cons: THE PERSON THAT RUNS THE PLACE GINA! (SHE IS THE #1 REASON WE DID NOT RENT IT ON THE SPOT!) They have no brides room. No grooms Room. Upkeep Brown folding chairs (would have to rent better chairs, but can with the price) Deceptive advertising!!!! Parking lot in bad shape! HUBER HEIGHTS POLICE PLEASE FIRE THIS LADY, GIVE YOUR PROPERTY A GOOD CLEANING, UPDATE & FIX SOME THINGS AND YOU JUST MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING THERE!

I stayed at this hotel for a 3 day, 2 night stay that was beyond a nightmare. TLDR: We travelled…read morewith a service dog and this hotel charged us for a service dog, refused to refund the charges when told it was a violation of federal law. Had to contact corporate 5 times to get it resolved because the hotel didn't answer corporate's calls. Hotel had standing urine in the back stairs for days. The room was moldy, musty, dirty, and caused health issues. Having worked in the hotel industry for a decade, I was actually flabbergasted at how much this hotel and its staff doubled down, tripled down, and quadrupled down to violate disability laws. The laws are extremely clear and straightforward, and I was in actual shock that it took as much as it did to correct it. We got to the hotel on the 4th of July at 3pm. Within minutes, the front desk called our room to let us know that they didn't allow pets and we would be charged a $35 daily cleaning fee. We immediately corrected her. Our dog is a service animal and we pointed to our note on the reservation saying we would be traveling with a service dog, which she then claimed didn't exist. We told her she could not charge us for a service dog and she said the hotel was charging us no matter what. We even asked to be moved to a pet-friendly room and she said no. The front desk then asked for documentation for the service dog (illegal). I immediately called corporate and explained the situation. Corporate CONFIRMED that I informed the hotel of our service dog and that the note was there clear as day. Hotel staff then stopped answering calls from corporate. I was told I would be called back within the day. I wasn't. I looked at my bank account and had been charged random amounts that exceeded the original stay. Corporate had to FAX this hotel because they would not answer. Hotel staff ignored the faxes. Any person with two thumbs and a phone could have googled, "Can I charge someone for a service dog?" and gotten their answer. There are only two questions you're allowed to ask about a service dog and that's it. Every single hotel employee in the US should know those laws. I was finally told by corporate that the hotel had been informed they couldn't charge us the fee and it wouldn't be a problem anymore. On the morning of checkout they slipped a bill under our door that still had $35 fees for our service dog. They actually went further and called it a "miscellaneous fee." Deceptive charges. Now for the accommodations. The hall ceilings were stained with old nicotine. Air conditioners in the common areas were putting out hot air. It was easily 95 degrees plus in the halls and elevator. Hot, musty, stagnant, no AC. I heard other guests saying they had their AC set to 62 all night and were still too hot. The staircase leading to our room had urine on the floor for at least 36 hours. I have photo evidence that it was there our entire stay. The back stairs smelled of old, hot urine and the handrails were coated in dirt. * Room had a huge hole in the wall that wasn't even painted. * Black mold growing in the bathroom that caused a massive flare of my medical conditions. * Old hair and urine-caked dust on the baseboards. * Towels smelled gross. * Carpets felt moist and staff had not cleaned under the beds, causing an allergic reaction in my service dog. * Dead batteries in the TV remote. * Alarm clock set for 5am and not reset. * Floors wiped up dark gray with a napkin. * Side door was broken and the back door lock was broken, meaning anyone could have walked right into the hotel. * Cigarette butts overflowing outside. * No trash cans for the side or dog area despite signs saying the hotel "loves dogs." * Pancake machine broken the entire stay. * Staff made us leave the pool an hour before the posted closing time. * No one at the front desk at checkout. All in all, this is the worst hotel I've ever had the misfortune to stay at. I've stayed across the world and have never experienced this level of incompetence or disrespect. Had the hotel simply fixed the charges right away, I would have been able to enjoy the holiday with my family instead of spending hours on the phone with corporate. It took the entire weekend to get the manager to finally call and apologize because he was "on vacation." Too little, too late.
