Dr Cohen is absolutely excellent. He treated my neck and back pain, and set me up on a treatment plan of home exercises for my daily life and now I live pain free. His philosophy is Pettibon which emphasizes at-home exercises to minimize the amount of office visits. Those exercises help correct spinal alignment as well. The exercises take time to do, but they work amazingly and surprisingly well. It's an investment in my health that will pay off in spades when I'm much older. I'm sad for my elderly relatives that complain about their back pain. there's not much you can do later in life to manage pain, so important to fix any issues early while you can. He also is extremely knowledgeable about health and the human body- other ailments, joint issues, he has given great advice. I now live pain free and I only need an adjustment every 3-4 weeks (I have mild scoliosis so my back is always trying to go weird directions on its own). I live in Montana, a mother of 3 children and have had 2 lower back surgeries and one fusion on my neck vertebrae. I have been in pain for years, having to take pain medications, chiropractic adjustments and many days spent in bed. I felt like this was my lot in life and I had to just deal with it. My sister lives in Washington and had been treated by Dr. Cohen at Backbone with great results. Since I live out of state I thought I wouldn't be able to see him. I called and found out that he does treat those from out of state by having them stay anywhere from one to two weeks for intensive treatment. Basically, condensing months into days. His approach was different than I had ever experienced. I was first given tests to check where I was with hydration, vitamin and mineral intake, mobility, etc. I attended the office twice a day and sometimes more. Through stretching, adjustments, massage, and going gluten and dairy free, my body responded immediately. I was instructed on how to use the wobble chair and traction device I was sent home with. My treatment was at the end of August, since I have been home, I have been adjusted once. I can feel myself slip from where I should be and am able to do my exercises and feel the difference.
