I cannot give a doctor a low rating if they are doing a great job - too many people write negative reviews for the wrong reasons - but again, super frustrating to not have an office staff that responds promptly, or even answers the phone at all.

Normally, I would have purchased my shoes at the mall but as I drove past Althea's, their front advertised Hoka's. Since I was always curious about this establishment, my husband and I decided to visit. Keep in mind that this shoe store isn't your run of the mill shoe store. They specialize in orthopedic and diabetic shoe wear. Many of their clientele are referred by doctors. First off, customer service was great! They are really knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I think everyone who worked there acknowledged us when we first entered, though we didn't get assisted until about 5 minutes in because they were all with customers. The staff who assisted me was Bill. I didn't feel at all pressured to buy from him although I had a feeling he knew I was set on buying Hokas. He let me try on two models. They didn't have the color I wanted so Bill offered to get it ordered for me with no additional/reservation charge. One week after our visit, I got my Hokas and I've been in shoes heaven since. Parking is plentiful which is always a plus! Their hours are Monday to Fridays, closing at 5pm. I really wish I went in sooner to support this business! I will definitely recommend this place.

I have a painful, weird type of callous that grows inwards on the bottom of one foot. Dr. Brickman warned me that it may come back after she treated it a couple of years ago. She was right. After each visit, I leave the office with way less pain than I had when I went in. By the end of the day, the pain is completely gone. Dr. Brickman is professional, quick, and to the point, which I appreciate. She gave me advice on a couple other foot problems I've been dealing with and I can tell she knows what she's talking about. The gal at the front desk and the assistant were both very kind and friendly. Overall, an excellent experience each time!

The day of my appointment they called and said the doctor had a surgery that afternoon and had to reschedule. Two weeks earlier it was open, and the day of... suddenly he has a surgery scheduled. Hmmm. I was un happy but not the end of the world. They saw me at the end of the week. I had a clipping taken for testing which the doctor told me they charge for but insurance should cover it since it was for testing. My insurance covered part of it. Not a big deal. I received treatment for my toenails, so I had a follow-up 3 months later to check my nails. The doctor said it looked good. Then he clipped my toenail as he was looking at it, which it was already very short because I had them clipped and thinned in a pedicure, so there was nothing to really get, but he was looking at them. He said they looked good and I was done with treatment. I got a bill from the office that included a fee for him clipping my nail, even though I wasn't told I would be charged. My insurance did not cover it because it was unnecessary. I vent back and forth trying to talk to someone and waiting weeks for a call back. When I finally did talk to someone I was upset about being charged when nothing was done, and that it wasn't explained to me that they would be charging me, they said "too bad". I asked to speak with the doctor since the person on the phone had no other remarks, and never heard from anyone again. I will not be referring them to anyone I care about. I have seen 3 other podiatrists and never, ever, been charged for a curious single clip of a toenail just for their viewing. I even received thinning and ultrasound and not been charged like that. That's not care, that's scamming.
