Yum. Fresh made to order Turkey and Havarti Sandwich on fresh ciabatta roll with arugula and aioli. The roll was so fresh it crushed down and the turkey was a hearty pile of thinly sliced meat. Fabulous. The bakery case spoke to me and I ordered a lemon curd custard filled donut sprinkled with lemon sugar. I can't explain the gush of fresh lemon flavor in the soft pillowy donut. Really special. Tomorrow morning I look forward to the pecan covered cinnamon roll. It looks luscious. The coffee shop has a citrus leaning coffee blend that perfectly went with lemon donut. Enjoy!!!

Busy on Sunday morning at both the coffee and bakery counters, but service was fast and friendly. We grabbed 2 BYO (made to order) breakfast sandwiches, a couple sweet treats, and a coffee. The sandwiches were large and tasty. The coffee cake good, but the cream cheese cinnamon roll a step above...highly recommend. Great place for a fast, filling, good breakfast!

Bad Dog is an amazing family run, bakery in McMinnville with some of the best bagels and homemade English muffin sandwiches I have ever had. In addition, the maple bars, sticky buns, and everything else they make is delicious. There is an independent barista bar and a large area to hang out in with free Wi-Fi. Definitely my go to spot and the best bagels I've ever had (sorry NYC).

Holy cheese!! This was my first visit to bad dog bakery and I was not let down. I wasn't craving sweets and they had a few savory items. The cheese (something) was so delicious. I loved that they offered to toast it. Business seemed to be steady there and not too busy. Very quick to get items out. I would love to come back to enjoy their outdoor dining!

Bacon was perfect, not too overdone, and it all came together nicely. TBH, the bread kinda overpowered the fillings, but so it goes. Came with a lovely mixed green salad, small, but much appreciated. Service was quick and to the point, bathrooms clean, and indoor ambiance homey and chill, good enough for a quick bite but nothing to linger in. Also? No WiFi. Bummer for a coffee shop.

So we saw Carlton Bakery and they delivered on the veggie options. We both ordered local mushroom sandwiches without meat and a couple of croissants all to go. The sandwiches came with small salads with radish and soy beans (very tasty). I probably could have bought half the items in the store as everything looked delicious. The sandwiches were tasty, good bread which was lightly toasted. The croissants were very good as well, pretty close to those in France. It took about 5-10 minutes for our order to be ready. The service was great, friendly and quick. I'd definitely return to Carlton Bakery in the future.

We know the brand and the quality because we have picked up these pies occasionally in various locations. I was primarily looking for an apple crumble pie, a frozen one I could take home to cook later. I was totally floored to see they also have these GINORMOUS chicken pot pies that are just as big as the other fruit based pies. A 10 inch chicken pot pie!? How medieval, I had to get one of those as well. These pies are all double crusted, not just a layer of crust on top, but an actual encased pie. A layer of crust, chicken pot pie filling and a layer of crust on top. Outstanding! ....but then we saw the treats and kinda lost it. Monstrous cookies. We got some Ranger cookies as well that are a delicious combination of dried fruits and nuts. The chocolate chip cookies look great, haven't chomped on that one yet. Then I saw the banana coffee cake. That one didn't make it out of the parking lot. The cake was pretty large for a single serving. It was very moist with a frosting drizzled across the top, and the banana flavor was spot on perfect. We felt like a couple of kids in this store being excited about all these offerings. We also ended up getting a hand held cherry pie and an apple pie. They were shaped like a pasty in a crust and went down easy. So many different treats, so little time. At least I got my apple pie for later and the chicken pot pies, very interested in that one. This is definitely a Mom and Pop shop, or should I say a 'Mom and Daughter' shop. They are very friendly. The store itself has a little bit of a Frontier country kind of feel and is very welcoming.

They have all the basics, sure, but really shine with some local and specialty goods. Roth's is my source for Roelli's Red Rock Cheese (an ultra-creamy bleu cheddar that is divine paired with fruit and nut crisps), local SCL's Muruku noodles, and locally grown cut flowers. They are the most prolific purveyor of nicer cheese that I have found in Mcminnville, and though space dedicated to wine is in no shortage at most grocers in the area, Roth's is pleasantly displayed and fun to shop. They have some houseplants and gifts, a decent bakery and deli, a rather large produce and bulk selection, and even offer sushi. Customer service is top priority and it shows - waits in line are never long, and every employee is agreeable and friendly. They have glass and aluminum recycling out front. Selection is limited for some items, notably pharmacy and bath and body, but that is probably not what you're shopping for here anyway. Prices can be a smidge high, but they also have good sales, and overall, it is a good choice for groceries, especially if you are seeking local products or avoiding support of larger chains.
