SCW and I stopped into Carlton Bakery kind of by mistake in between wine tastings for some lunch. We intended to visit a different sandwich shop however they had no vegetarian options. So we saw Carlton Bakery and they delivered on the veggie options. We both ordered local mushroom sandwiches without meat and a couple of croissants all to go. The sandwiches came with small salads with radish and soy beans (very tasty). I probably could have bought half the items in the store as everything looked delicious. The sandwiches were tasty, good bread which was lightly toasted. The croissants were very good as well, pretty close to those in France. It took about 5-10 minutes for our order to be ready. The service was great, friendly and quick. I'd definitely return to Carlton Bakery in the future.

Awesome selection of baked goods! Everything looked delicious. Counter service. Everyone was so friendly! They serve Stumptown Coffee and have matcha as well. Large outdoor seating area. Perfect for either grab-and-go or to linger with friends.

The mushroom, potato, kale quiche was delicious and a generous portion. It was served with a little salad with delicious fresh dressing. The pecan sticky bun was divine for dessert. We asked the barista to out on the fireplace and she kindly obliged. The dining area was cozy and rustic and the view of the Main Street made for great people watching.

If you get the BLT check it before you take a bite. The 2 puny strips of bacon were raw, as in the white fat was still white. Mostly baguette for a $15 sandwich. I called to tell them about this and ask for a refund (I took the sandwich to eat at home). I did send them a picture so they could see. I was told they would investigate and get back to me. When I reached out day and half later after not hearing back they said they had refunded my money. They did give me my money back when I asked but I didn't sense they were overly concerned. Told me even though the bacon was "undercooked" they do lots of other things well. As others mentioned only saw teenagers working and they didn't seem real knowledgable. I think it's great kids are working but need to have an adult to supervise.

Came here every morning we were in town for pastries and every single one was delicious. The croissants are buttery and flavorful, and the scones have interesting flavors and the perfect texture. Cannot recommend coming here highly enough to start your day with pastries and coffee. On our last day we decided to have a sit-down breakfast. Their Apple compote French toast on brioche was delicious. The fruit tasted great on top. The avocado toast was immensely disappointing. We were fairly confident that the avocado was not fresh and had come from a pre-puréed container. Staff members were always friendly. Even when full it wasn't too loud. Highly recommend for pastries and coffee, not so sure about the full breakfast.

Came here for brunch and loved it. Got an assortment of baked goods - the pecan sticky (yum), sea biscuit (YUM), and a lemon poppyseed bun (AMAZING). I had a ham croissant sandwich with a salad that was tasty, and my wife had a brie/prosciutto croissant smorgasbord that she loved. Also got a vanilla latte (my only complaint was they put it in to-go cups despite knowing I was dining in). Our server was really helpful with recommendations, and the ambiance both inside and on the back patio was really lovely. All in all, we loved the visit and will definitely come back.

I love their almond croissant, even though it's not usually my first choice. There are so many layers and it's so flavorful. I'm also a big fan of their breakfast sandwich, mostly because it comes on a croissant. Honestly, you can't go wrong here. While I was exploring more of Forest Grove I was thinking back to what I was charged, thinking it was a quite a bit more than my last visit here, and I did look back at the menu and realize I was charged double for my half loaf ($9 for a half loaf of bread). I totally understand mistakes happen, I went back and the staff were very helpful in finding my order and refunding me the amount I was over charged. Can't wait to try more from Slow Rise!

There's no wrong decisions. I had made my mind up as soon as I saw the selections in the case: one of everything. Problem with that is... there's a lot to choose from. And worse than that? I went there in pumpkin season. How am I supposed to decide when there is a selection, and then next to it was the pumpkin version of it. (Except pig in a blanket, but maybe next year? Maybe they were sold out??) So yeah, everything in there looks fantastic but I can't have one of everything (I could, but like I said before, that would check the box next to deceased for me). I got a "slice" of coffee cake. And a cupcake. I had to eat the cupcake on my walk back to the lovely hotel up the road so that my wife would think I was reasonable and only got coffee cake. My wife doesn't like pumpkin stuff the way I do, and buddy, she loved this pumpkin coffee cake. Great place, heat a room near the beach and walk over here, amazing little shop with a feel like a deli you'd see in a movie but it's a bakery. As I left I heard a voice from further back in the kitchen thank me for coming in and I knew that voice came from the grim reaper... Maybe next time, pal
