This was a good meal, but the size of the lobster is insulting to a native New Englander. The lobster that I had, would not be legal to sell in Massachusetts, as it would be undersized. Unless you have not had lobster before, I would recommend getting the salmon instead. Overall, the lobster supper is a nice place with a nice view, and the prices aren't bad overall. Prepare to wait a very long time if you don't get there early. This is one of the more popular restaurants in Baddeck. read more

The lobster was small, hardly any meat (the lobster roll I had at Skipper Jacks had more meat!). The meat wase not "fresh" as it boasts- more on the soft side rather than shrimp-like. The Steak I ordered was supposed to be "medium rare" it came out fully browned on each ends and the middle was pink. 80% of the steak was too chewy. They did not cut out the tendanous parts either. The "salad" side was meager in quantity for the price. The best is just its baked potato. If you are going to PEI or elsewhere across the provinces, skip this place and move on! There are plenty of other resturants that are better (ie. The one right next to light house on Peggy's Cove was Supurb in quality, quantity and price!). I've yet to try the PEI places. Good luck! ps. If you go with a large group you don't get refills as advertised on mussels and chowder. In addelition it costs much more than going without a group. The lobster supper at PEI is a much better value with much better service. We were disappointed and felt the restaurant fell far short of traditional lobster suppers we've experienced elsewhere in The Maritines. read more

Great value for money, and exactly what I was hoping for on my trip to Nova scotia. A very casual spot, popular with both travelers and locals. Probably the best mussels I've ever had. Best of all, you can order a bucket of mussels... Yes, a bucket. Literally. There's an all you can eat lobster dinner, you get a 1-1.5 lbs lobster, with unlimited mussels and seafood chowder. This place was awesome! Unlimited mussels and chowder as apps for the $36 meal(w/o taxes) and then you get your meal and dessert!. The mussels were cooked perfectly and so tender! The chowder was nothing to write home about, thin and not very flavourful. The lobster was excellent and sweet, not overcooked! The home made apple pie was mouthwatering. The server was on her A-game, always bringing out more mussels, chowders, filling drinks. Excellent first day experience in Baddeck! We arrived right at 4pm when they opened and it was steady, but not crazy busy. I would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

My boyfriend and I were dying to go here, but we showed up too late just as it was closing. The servers were so sweet and allowed us to order takeout despite the fact that the kitchen was about to close. They were out of lobster, so we got the snow crab and were BLOWN AWAY by how amazing it was. I don't care how much you like lobster--if you are here, try the snow crab. The servers packed it up for us with amazing biscuits, salads and sides and were so sweet. This is easily one of the best restaurants on the trail and is an absolute must. A perfect evening would be the 6pm sail on the Amoeba and then dinner here followed by live music at the Inverary's bar down the road. Can't wait to come back and thank you to the amazing staff who allowed us to get takeout so late in the evening and made our night :) read more

The best lobster I've ever had. Friendly staff, nice view, great food, good value. I had the full lobster dinner with all you can eat mussels and seafood chowder. Delicious! My friend and I had lobster at a fancier place in Halifax a few days later and agreed that this one was MUCH better. We got there at 8:10PM (They close at 9pm) and didn't have to wait at all. We were really looking forward to eating here. We had the lobster dinner. The mussels were good and my husband had two helpings. The chowder was good and filled with fish. We really liked the biscuits that came with the meal,too. The lobster, however, was not as good as the rest. It was a 1 1/4 lb. and maybe over cooked. I was disappointed in the star of the meal. The desserts were good, my husband had the carrot cake and I had the strawberry rhubarb crisp. It was warm with vanilla ice cream. Our waitress Angie was so nice and she answered all our questions and was very efficient and friendly. However, I would not recommend it. read more

I had the all you can eat lobster dinner which isn't really true as it only applies to the side item. The mussels were on the dry side but the lobster was tasty and while they say it is fresh the lobster season is only 2 months in NS. If you want really fresh lobster go to Maine or PEI where their is no season. My wife had Salmon which was a bit over cooked but fresh tasting. The blueberry crisp for desert was really good so if you go leave room for it. It's not all that inexpensive for the kind of restaurant it is. read more

Took the all you can eat mussels and chowder plus the lobster. All the seafood was just amazingly fresh. Service was good and attentive. The decor is plain and simple. Food was really good and fresh kept simple with melted butter for the lobster and the mussels. Terrific value. My wife had the plank salmon which was a bit on the dry side to be honest. For desert, apple crisp and rhubarb with custard. Perfect end to a great meal. read more

Stopped in on the way to Sydney and was not disappointed, ordered just the 1 1/4 lb. lobster main, with sides. The sides were disappointing, potato salad was bland as was the coleslaw, and the green salad was mushy. The bread and tea biscuits were great. the lobster was freshly cooked to order and was delicious. Thus the rating. Was more than enough. Didn't need to order the all you can eat option. Baddeck Lobster Suppers was amazing! We had a very large group for a Birthday celebration and the restaurant was able to accommodate some last minute additions. The food was amazing -I had the salmon which was delicious and everyone loved their meals. They also did up a Birthday cake for our dessert option which was extra special.
