Overt the past 18 months, it has really taken its toll on my carpeting. I bought one of those home steam cleaners and it didn't really seem to do much of anything but make the rugs wet. I used to have a regular carpet cleaner guy, but he seems to have skipped town and was in need of a replacement. I was referred to Doug by my local hardware store and after the job can now claim that I have a new and probably improved carpet guy. Kevin, the technician arrived on time in a truck equipped with a huge carpet cleaner machine inside. Imagine what you might use to power wash a 747 and this will give you an idea of the girth of this thing. He fired it up and it sounded like an industrial wood chipper running. I knew that I would be in for some serious cleaning action. I didn't actually stay home, but understand that kevin was there the better part of the day. My cleaning lady came the next day and left me a note saying "The carpet guy did a spectacular job considering how bad it was!" I'd consider that a ringing endorsement. I can't say if his price was good or not. You see ads promising super cheap carpet cleanings, but they seem to be too good to be true. My basement was not nearly as bad as other people's, and I wanted help cleaning and with mold. They got back to me within a couple of days while I was on other companies' waitlists. They could have come out the same evening, but I had them wait until the next day which was more convenient. They came out, provided an estimate. I had questions, and I was able to say what I wanted done (eg. I didn't want the air purification for $1000 since my HVAC system has an air purification system in it that takes care of mold spores or the wall paint to protect from mold for $200 since I am already on a list to have my basement waterproofed in a month, and the walls are going to be dealt with). They were amenable to the changes. They were able to schedule me for the next day and do the work. They provided me with updates of the project. They took out more drywall than anticipated, but that's fine. I'll refinish the basement later. Garrett and Justin were both helpful. I recommend them. They listened, they were prompt, and I feel after talking with others in similar situations, the price was fair. They also did not demand insurance. I paid upfront.

He has refused to return our deposit in good faith of $10,000. We had multiple contacts by phone and in person. Never did he want to discuss the issue. He always fell back on the excuse of needing more time to look at the circumstances This went on over three months. I have since taken him to court in a lawsuit. This man is unethical and not trustworthy. I recommend using a different contractor.
