Conrad was more than happy to come back with pleasure and take care of more than a few minor details until I was completely satisfied. He came back twice. Once on a Sunday. I felt like I was being a stickler about details but all he wanted was for me to be happy. He remained a professional gentleman. Here is the final results. We found Hampton Restoration on the Internet. The web site said "For your peace of mind, we are an honest business that is fully licensed and insured." The website also claimed that they were "screened and approved by HomeAdvisor" They provided an estimate, (and no contract) and we decided to go with them. They required a down payment of 1/2 the total estimate. We paid that. I found out that they lied about being "fully licensed and insured" and Home Advisor has not "screened and approved" them. I told them we want our deposit back. They refused. They did no design work. We purchased and procured all the materials (vanity, toilet, lights, tile, shower and vanity plumbing, towel rack, mirror, etc.). They provided no labor, and yet they think they are entitled to $9120.00 of our money. We consider this Grand Theft. On top of this, the legal system proved disappointing. The State of NY, which seems to have good consumer protections, sent us to Suffolk County that also has what seems to be good consumer protections, but said that because the crime occurred in East Hampton NY, they had not jurisdiction. We filed a police report, and they were very sympathetic, but ultimately after investigating decided it was "a civil matter" not a "criminal matter". So if I went to the convenience store and shoplifted a cold beer, they would arrest me. But if a contractor steals $9120.00, it is up to me to sue the perpetrator. After speaking with an attorney in E. Hampton, he advised that I could try small claims court in E. Hampton (no lawyer required), and at best get back only $3000 (but I might loose). If I wanted to try to get back more of my money, he thought I might have to go all the way to the NY Supreme Court. Of course legal fees would wipe out any possible wins, and perhaps I would not win. So bottom line: Stay away from this fraudulent business. It could happen to you.

But after reading those reviews in its entirety. My husband and I decided to give them a call for an estimate. I spoke with Joe the owner of The Paint Pro's. He was able to come out and give me an estimate that same day which was awesome. He arrived at the scheduled appointment time which is always a plus. We told him what we wanted painted but we really didn't have any colors in mind we just knew we needed a paint job. Joe suggested some colors that I would have never considered and little did we know that we would go with those suggested colors and our walls would look amazing. After the estimate the next day we decided that we wanted to go with The Paint Pro's. The price was very reasonable and if Joe feels that you don't need a wall or a room painted, he won't paint it, it not about painting more rooms to get extra money with this company. Joe had such an amazing personality. He was very pleasant, had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable about paint. Joe came that same day we called him and spackle the walls. The next day he arrived and began. The job was suppose to take two days. However, Joe finished everything in one day. Communication was excellent and he explained everything he was going to do and everything he was doing. Joe went above and beyond and definitely exceeded our expectations. I waited to write this review on purpose because I wanted to wait and let the Paint settle and look at it in every angle and under all the possible lighting and I have absolutely no complaints. Would I hire The Paint Pro's again. Absolutely

And the two contractors who come to see the project, didn't send me the estimate, I guess too small the project. Cristian come with two workers, and did an Excellent job! And also did some extra work that wasn't in the estimate. Now he is my guy to take care of my house. He takes care some of my friends properties in the Hamptons. Thank you Chris!
