It's sad that the owner of this company chooses to LIE about how many times they were are my house and the lie about any estimate. There was 1 person here, once, he sounded pretty good too. But unfortunately I never got the estimate this owner claims. I did actually call and I was told "we're working on it and will have the estimate to you within the next week" - this was 2 weeks after the estimate was supposed to be emailed to me. Fortunately I did find wonderful contractors who did actually come to my house twice, once for the initial consultation and once more to double check the ascetics before finalizing the estimate- this other company I ended up hiring and was very happy. Joe and his team gut renovated my Southampton house from the ground up. As one of the most expensive investments we have, hiring the right company is pertinent. I couldn't sing him higher praises. He is honest, reliable, professional and provided the highest quality of service. This major project began when I hired a nightmare contractor who took tens of thousands of dollars and left my house as a complete demo zone. Joe and his crew came when I was in despair and repaired all the damage, put up the walls, new roof, new deck, sanded and refinished all the hardwood floors, installed a brand new kitchen and 3 bathrooms, and painted interior & exterior. I am so lucky that I met and found the right people to do the construction work. I found him through all these reviews on him and I am experiencing all the testimonies are true. They are communicable, consistent, honest, friendly, informative, diligent, well-managed, and professional. Joe being the owner of the company shows his presence every day to communicate and make sure the work is going in the right direction. And his team Dan and Orleans always keep time (it has been 9 days of working) every day at 7:30 am working almost all day. There are many construction companies that service the east end of Long Island, but there are several characteristics that make All Island Construction stand out: 1. Joe Vella (Owner) is very organized, professional, courteous, and a great communicator. This was evident from the very start. I called many companies to get a quote for the work we wanted done. Joe scheduled a time to meet and showed up. Many other companies did no shows or showed up very late and/or at the wrong times. First impression always makes an impact. 2. Once Joe arrived for a quote and I showed him the issues we were having, he pointed the underlying cause of what was actually creating the issues. He has a careful eye and did a thorough assessment, including finding items that were missed by our home inspector. He was very knowledgeable and patient in answering any questions we had, even if we were just learning. 3. Joe has a team of professionals that do both exterior and interior work. We needed both. Other companies only did one type of work or the other, and even chose to decline specific projects. The advantage of selecting All Island Construction is that Joe will coordinate all the teams and their tasks. This was especially critical for us since the findings from the exterior work yielded what additional interior work needed to be done. 4. This being our first major renovation project, I wasn't sure what to expect. I heard horror stories from friends of the company owner never showing up again after the contract was signed, and workers not showing up on time or at all during the project. We've dealt with difficult contractors in NYC. This was not the case with Joe and All Island Construction. It was quite the very opposite. Each day, the team of workers showed up at a designated time. Each team also had a team leader that answered any of our questions and concerns while the actual work was going on. Joe stopped by our job site almost every day, and when he didn't, he was in communication with us on status and addressed any/all concerns we had. 5. All workers at the job site were professional, courteous, and completed all project tasks very thoroughly, efficiently, and to our approval. We lived inside our home during the exterior and interior renovations, and they took this into consideration, making sure to leave both the outside and inside in a cleaned up state at the end of each day. If there was an additional improvement that could be done, they went above and beyond to do it. You can tell that everyone on the team takes genuine pride and joy in their work and craftsmanship. Our finished product was our home being repaired and waterproofed and safe from the inside out, in addition to beautification and enhancements. If you want to put your mind at rest and know the job will be 100% done right, I can't recommend Joe Vella and All Island Construction enough. read more

I recently purchased an older house, and as time went on I found a few issues that needed to be addressed. I had a recommendation for a couple of handymen. One that I reached out to never responded. The other called me on the day he was supposed to arrive, to say he didn't service my area. This was after a phone consultation days before, when I stated where I lived. Fast forward to my online search, where I found Joe and All Island Handyman. What a great guy! He responded to me right away, and came over for an estimate. The next day we set up the job. There were a couple of reschedules, due to the weather (the jobs were outdoors), but Joe was very communicative. Today the work was completed.
