What a great and helpful little store. Bag and Baggage is a really great spot if you're in the market for their namesake items and so much more. The shop has a large selection of backpacks, luggage, and important travel goods. It's a great place to grab an outlet converter or something else you'll surely need in a trip. Bag and Baggage also carries some really high quality leather portfolios for note taking, wallets, and other goods. Besides items in stock, Bag and Baggage also does custom luggage name tags. They were able to change the names on three pieces of luggage in a pretty fast fashion. The work looks great and will definitely last. The shop was also considerate enough to put the old tags in a ziploc bag for us to potentially reuse or keep. The workers at Bag and Baggage are also super sweet. They've helped my family out so many times and done such great custom work. They were also very helpful when we forgot a bag in the store and kept it until we could pick it up. read more

I purchased a rolling bag last August and used it for the first time in April of this year. The design was such that the direction of the roll resulted in the exterior pocket/pouch touching the ground when being pulled. Obviously it doesn't take long for a hole to wear through when simply pulling the bag through airports, at markets, etc. This hole happened within 2 days of use! I took the bag to the store and was told that the manager would contact me. Four days later, after not hearing a word, I followed up with the store manager, Erin. She said that they could try and patch the hole that was all they could do. I could see that patching was not a solution since it would just happen again the next time is was rolled. This was clearly a design flaw. I asked Erin to contact the manufacturer to see if they could warranty the product. She agreed to do so. Days later I called her for an update. She said she contacted the manufacturer, Hang Accessories, and they said they would not stand behind the product. I was shocked. I asked for the phone number of Hang Accessories so I could ask why they denied warranty. When I called I reached the owner of the company on her cell phone. She know nothing of this situation but asked me to contact her office and speak to Payton, the manager there. I spoke with Payton and she had not received a call from Erin at Bag and Baggage either. Further, she said that they stand behind the quality of all of their products and would never suggest otherwise. She was appalled that Bag and Baggage would say this about them. I became obvious that Erin had lied to me about contacting the manufacturer. I confronted Erin today and asked her why she had been dishonest about this exchange. She kept saying that they had decided to give me a store credit. I told her that wasn't the reason i was calling. I needed to know why she had been dishonest. She had no good answer other than she suspected that's what they would say because of their history. I can not do business with a business I do not trust, has representatives who are not honest with customers and blames customers for design flaws. I escalated to the owner of Bag and Baggage, Tim Bleish, Erin had told him that this issue was due to my misuse of the bag "). He said they would go ahead and offer a store credit, in spite of the fact that I was the reason the bag did not wear properly, because I've been such a good customer over the years. He even commented that a store credit was better than offering another bag because of the way I "use bags"! They took NO ownership of this issue. I'm shocked that they made this about me and the way I "use bags". There are 100 reasons why this is wrong, and I will never do business there again. I told Erin I did not want the credit. Over 16 years ago, I started traveling to exhibit at trade-shows. Airlines destroyed my first suitcase in less than a year. I wound up buying about another two or three suitcases that did't survive, either. Then about 13 years ago, I learned about Briggs&Riley, and their Simple as That lifetime guarantee that even covers airline damage. Sure, it was expensive, but I haven't had to buy another suitcase since! Recently, I traveled to Kansas City for my first trade-show since the Covid shutdown, and discovered a broken, minimally functioning wheel on my bag. It was late afternoon when I called and spoke with a nice lady, Ann, who apologized that the service department was closed at that time, but gave me the email address for Will in their service department. Due to my working schedule, I didn't have time to go deliver and pickup the bag, plus the weekend was coming and my flight was Monday morning. Because of my work, I have to carry a tool kit, so I figured I could replace the part myself in my hotel room. That evening, I emailed the info necessary for the warranty about my bag, along with pictures of the broken part and Will replied early the next morning confirming that they had the part in stock. We exchanged a couple more times, and then he took initiative to personally carry the part out to be shipped, ensuring I received it at my hotel the next day. I replaced the wheel without any problem, or making any payment. Bags & Baggage has to EARN the opportunity to continue carrying premium quality brands like Briggs & Riley. I have an old duffel bag that's gone all over the country with me. It's been dropped, dragged, kicked, pushed, stepped on, tripped over, thrown and then some, but it's been a trooper. I finally was a little too rough and spectacularly destroyed its zipper. Enter Bag & Baggage. They took a quick look at it, wrote up a ticket and warned me that all though it might be a quick fix, it also might take a while due to their current work load. They also said if the issue was worse and more expensive then they quoted me they would let me know. No problem. I wasn't in a hurry and I appreciated the head's up. Two days later I got a call saying it was fixed. They did a solid job and fully exceeded my expectations. I haven't brought any larger luggage pieces here so I can't comment on this part of the repair process yet, but when I do decide to give my larger well traveled pieces a little love, I won't hesitate to bring them here when the time is right. read more

For those of you who don't know, Timbuk2 manufactures some of the snazziest bags on the planet for the organized-obsessed freaks out there. And as with most of the things I love, they look damn cool too, so no need to worry there. You'll find Northface, Baggalini, Derek Alexander, Swiss Army and even Tumi bags all for the taking. The variety is across the board, whether it be luggage or small shoulder purses. This place rocks pretty hard. I started to realize I could have a bag for a variety of situations or locales and was salivating over the possibilities. They carried Moleskine notebooks too; though limited in variety, that will always deliver a star from this guy. The young gents at the counter seemed like they were still in diapers but shut me up when they greeted me and seemed quite knowledgeable on the phone with a customer. Bag & Baggage is my go-to destination for all my luggage and travel needs. Recently on a trip to Kansas City, my Hartmann Wheeled Garment Bag's wheel broke (a very heavy and bulky case to not be able to wheel), and I called Bag & Baggage the next day with my issue / situation (as I was only in town for a few days); Will in the Repair Department took my call and told me that they had the replacement parts in stock (for my 10 year old bag!) and could rush the repair for a nominal rush charge. I was so excited to be able to use my bag on my continued trip, and both wheels were repaired perfectly. On a side note, I also find their selection of luggage and briefcases stellar - brands and/or better collections that you cannot find in the department stores, and while I was picking up my repair, I was enticed to buy two more pieces of luggage from them. Erin, in particular, was very helpful and knowledgable, and I was able to find exactly what I was looking for. The only reason I came here is because I had a Samsonite and it was broken. I thought it was a manufacturers defect (warranty) and they were the only repair shop in KC. I brought the suitcase on 2/3 and they let me know that they would look at the bag immediately and call me back. One week later and I still have not heard back from them. I called them and it seems that the repair team doesn't work on Saturdays, they were going to call me back on Monday. How long should a quote for repair take? I have a trip on Wednesday the 15th, and they are going to let me know on the 13th? It didn't help that they could figure out my name after repeating multiple times (was this person deaf?). I have the most simple name in the world (first and last name has a total of two syllables and is easier to pronounce than "Bob Smith"). I will not give them my business and will look elsewhere if it is not under warranty. I will make due with a duffle weekender, but I should never had to of, if this company did their jobs within a reasonable amount of time. A family run business can't compete with the big boys on Price, so they must do so on customer service. How this business remains in business is beyond me. read more

really bad service and poor follow through. i brought my bag in over two weeks ago for repair, still haven't heard back from them. called on Saturday the 11th, they promised to call me back on the 13th, but that time has now passed too. i have a trip on the 15th and told them this, they obviously don't care because it has been going on the third week. family businesses don't compete with the big box stores on price, they do on customer service. i'm not sure if these other posters are family and friends or have brought a bag in for repair, but this has been the worst service I've received from any place since i've lived here. please go somewhere else. read more

I've had my Victorinox bags repaired several times (and replaced under warranty in a couple of cases) over the last decade and million miles of flying. I don't understand the negative reviews; Will does outstanding work and is a delight to work with. I needed a rush job for a critical repair in less than a week between international trips last month, and it was expertly repaired and done the day before my flight as promised. I have Victorinox luggage and it was in need of repair. The closet repair locations to Omaha are St. Louis and Kansas City. We've shipped to STL before but we're going to KC for a weekend, so we decided to give Bag and Baggage a try. Will and the team have been outstanding. They kept me up to date on the progress and their repair prices were very reasonable (since Victorinox doesn't warranty their luggage like the used to). ADMITTED DAMAGING MY PROPERTY & WOULD NOT REPLACE IT: Being a small business supporter & loyal customer for over 12 years, I took my custom leather wedding photo albums for gold print personalizing/embossing to B&B. They had a very difficult time with both albums the Owner admitted. One album they ripped/gouged the black leather down to the white substrate. The other album the text was crooked even at a glance on the front; the other was straight. The manager reviewed the damage with me and verbally said she saw the damage & that she did not know if the Owner would be able to fix the crooked text. The Owner admitted to the damage even explaining how it could have happened with their tooling, and that he did have a very difficult time getting the text straights. I asked for them to refund their fee and I would need to replace both damaged albums and start over. The Owner said 'while I might NOT be doing the RIGHT thing, the only thing I will do is refund half of the personalization fee'. If that is how they treat a loyal customer, I would certainly be concerned how they treat their other customers. They do not 'do the right thing', and it was so disappointing and upsetting to have them admit the damage and not take responsibility for something that was so special. read more

The people who work there take a lot of time to explain the features of their merchandise and go above and beyond in service.
