DO NOT trust these people. I have been a customer since 1987. Along with my Mother. My Mom Passed and I went to pick up our coats. They had given my Mother's coat to another woman with the same name as hers. They refused to take responsibility for giving it away. Gave me a complete disrespectful run around. Wouldn't return my calls. Wouldn't elevate my situation. I heard every kind of different excuse two and three times. Office error. Weve been bought by someone else. She came and got it. You name it. I was appalled to say the least. Between me and my Mother we had purchased 8 coats and jackets. Over the years. No concern that my Mother is now deceased. No form of Sympathy. To this date the owner has NEVER tried to make this right. The manager. The Storage clerk. This was a Christmas Gift to her. She would always give me 3 things she knew I was unable to afford. This particular year. She wanted a 24k Jaguar. Rolls Royce and an Alaskan Fur Coat coat. I was so young. I did everything I could to make this happen. And they had a layaway and I took every pay check I had to make her dream happen. She cried. I picked it up. I could only think I did it. I DID IT. fast forward. I go to pick it up. Heart in hand. Alone and grieving. Just missing my Mother. That Christmas my Mother wrapped her Granddaughters in this coat taking several pictures. So beautiful. To treat me the way they have done. Was stabbing me in my heart. Over and over. You can buy from them take it and never look back. Who knows. Someone who works there could be taking coats? If you've experienced a given away coat. Please please contact me. Is it bigger than me? Are this people trying to get so rich they dont care who they hurt. This hurt me to every fiber of my heart and being. Are you this greedy to treat a customer this BAD? How many others are there? I wiuldnt have given a 1 if i could have selected a zero. I am not going away. Nor will you treat my Mother this way. A deceased relative has stored a coat with a Alaskan Fur's several years ago. During the process of putting the estate probate, the communication with the company was excellent. I was finally able to retrieve the coat and it was in perfect condition. Customer service was excellent. They even shipped the coat to my home. read more

I received very dismissive treatment when I made an email inquiry about a vintage fur I inherited that was purchased from Alaskan Fur. I noticed that the website mentions preowned fur. The reply email was curt and said they don't buy preowned fur. I wasn't thanked for my inquiry and they didn't provide information regarding companies that may be interested in the coat. If the response would have been respectful I may have made future purchases. My family has purchased several coats over the years. They have lost my business for good. read more

I was very disappointed by the lack of reponsiveness to a problem that I had with this company after I bought two coats from their store in Minneapolis before it closed. I called their headquarters in Kansas City twice and both times my simple issue was not resolved. Poor customer relations and not responsive. I would go elsewhere to purchase a coat. read more

Would not recommend. I took a leather jacket that I bought somewhere else to be cleaned and treated. They were very pretentious, belittling my coat and trying to sell me something from there inventory to replace it. The salesmen were obnoxious and aggressive. The lady at the front desk had a screw loose. I don't know how this store is still open. When I got my coat back I was not impressed with the job they did. It cost a lot and took a long time. STAY AWAY!!!!!!! If I could give them less than 1 star I would. I had been in contact by email with one of the owners. After being assured, in writing in an email, that they "do purchase preowned furs or take furs on consignment" I drove 4 hours to Alaskan Furs. However, when I arrived I was told by this same individual that they don't purchase preowned or take consignment. He denied ever saying it and even when I showed him the email, he admitted it was his personal email, but he still denied it. I drove 4 hours for nothing.
