I always like bagels with cream cheeese and ordered it . Took sometime but the quality was good . I liked it : wish it was a little more toasted but it was tasty though. Coffee was very average . Was in the area on a Sunday morning and decided to stop in. Very friendly service. Bagels were solid. Nothing great. Got a pork roll egg and cheese on an egg everything. That was petty good. It might be my first and only time, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't get the same level of service you give your regulars or friends that you are chatting with instead of taking other orders. I stopped by this place on a whim to grab bagels for my office team. It was a win!! The place wasn't incredibly busy, but still had a steady flow of customers. I was able to easily get an assorted dozen bagels. It was a solid selection to choose from without feeling you only had 3-4 options. The team raved about them and we continued to munch on them throughout the day. They were warm and soft inside with a crunchy/chewy outside. The staff were helpful and friendly when trying to decide which ones to get and the price was pretty reasonable. I would definitely recommend and will be putting them in my rotation to visit again! read more

My go-to bagel is one with a strawberry spread. Coming from NYC, I am certainly happy about the price and the quality here. Their lox was also delicious and with a reasonable price. I agree that their bagels have the nice crisp outer texture but soft on the inside. It just tasted so fresh in my opinion. I love their coffee too! read more

Decided to try this place out, overall good experience. I called in and the woman i spoke to was friendly, my order was ready in time when I picked it up. The sub was delicious and included everything I asked for. My only two complaints are 1) on the door it states that a mask is required for service but the staff themselves arent wearing masks which is weird to me and makes me wonder if their taking the necessary precautions with covid and everything going on. 2) the hashbrown was super soggy, instead of crispy. May just be personal preference. Price was reasonable also and staff were great. Ill be stopping by in the future for sure. read more

Not really impressed with today's customer service. It baffles me how a restaurant closes at 12pm but at 11:45am, they already start shutting down; grill off already cleaned. Then when I asked why is that, he simple replied "we put a sign up". What is this Popeye's Chicken with a mediocre 8.5"x11" inch per print out that's not as visible because there's a million other 8.5"x11" inch papers on top of each other. Businesses think because they have been established for years in the community that the service can reduce in volume. Incorrect. All it takes is for another restaurant to open up and do the same thing you do with better customer service and people will leave. Word of advice...serve your customers and don't half a** them. We don't half a** on paying. Oh yeah and it's 11:58am. Still 2 minutes remaining and they are already closed. read more

I grabbed a Turkey Bacon , egg and Cheese on a garlic bagel and a side of home fries I was in Carb Heaven. The home fries was cooked with peppers and onions which gave it added flavor and was well prepared. A lot of places when they add ketchup to the bagel they tend to smother the bagel with ketchup like it's gravy and I personally don't enjoy that however this place added the right amount of ketchup to my sandwich. I probably devoured it in 5 minutes. The price was around 9 bucks for both. If your on the area check the boys out!!! read more

We started getting our Bagels here during the past year, but learned today that if you choose to pay with a Credit Card you will get banged with a surcharge. I personally think it's a poor business practice to penalize customers that use credit their credit cards for business reasons. Especially charging a higher fee for spending more then $10.00. I was initially between 3 and 4 stars for this place, but ended up having to give them the extra star. My experiences here have been with breakfast sandwiches and bagels, so I cannot speak to their quality of lox or other spreads. However, their breakfast sandwiches have been consistently correct and well done. Their bagels are the best I have found in the area. I've had a hard time finding a go to bagel place in this area, but they provide a quality product. Costumer service has always been effective and helpful, and they seem to run a very capable operation. For such a bare bones place, they do a surprisingly good job and offer a good variety of breakfast meats, including turkey bacon. Overall, I suggest this place as one of the best bagel places in the immediate area. *I noticed a while back that they posted a sign explaining why their prices increased due to egg prices increasing. Businesses do that a lot so I didn't think too much about it. But they apparently have lowered their prices back down after egg prices dropped again. I respect their honesty and transparency, and the fact that they actually lowered customer prices when their costs dropped backed down. read more

After reading Gerry's review of Bagel Boys, and finding myself starving on line at Scala's next door to buy Italian cookies for a party, I had to break from my mostly Vegan diet and grab a quick breakfast sandwich. (Shh...) To be exact, I ordered an old favorite -- a whole wheat wrap filled with one egg scrambled with onions & peppers, turkey bacon well-done, a slice of American cheese, salt, pepper, and hot sauce. You'd think this order wouldn't vary much from one bagel store grill to the next, but you'd be surprised how much it does. My usual go-to for any breakfast wrap is Brunswick Bagels in East Brunswick, so this would be the standard for them to meet. Bagel Boys was pretty crowded, but my order was taken almost immediately. In the time it took me to buy a half-dozen bags of ice a few doors down at Krauszer's, my breakfast wrap was ready. I forget what I paid exactly, but I do recall thinking it was noticeably less expensive than other places. As for the wrap itself, it was pretty much perfection. Served piping hot, the eggs were nicely scrambled, but not over done. Diced onions and peppers made their way into every bite without weighing the sandwich down. The turkey bacon added a delicious, smoky flavor throughout and was cooked medium-well, but not burnt. And I reckon there was at least two slices of cheese inside, because it was an ooey-gooey delicious mess. (For the record, I did request "a" slice, but this is the kind of mistake that I can roll with because I love cheese even though I'm not supposed to be eating any dairy.) Unfortunately I can't vouch for the bagels because bagels are no longer in my diet, and that is one thing I am strict about. But when I find myself in these here parts during the breakfast hour, I'll definitely be popping into Bagel Boys to sneak in another not-so-healthy wrap. I'm a fan! read more

Route 130 in Middlesex County is some of the ugliest stretch of road I have had the displeasure of travelling. The countlessly repetitive strip shopping structures, with their redundant retail offerings, make a cruise north or south a total drear. Yet, even in the middle of such desolation an occasional surprise awaits. So it was for Bagel Boys on the northbound side of this pitiful roadway. I walked in just to get an Onion Bagel with a light smear of Butter and a few slices of Swiss. I had no expectation of anything more than a mundane retort. The room was a decent size with a few rows of tables that were still occupied at 1:30 in the afternoon. The bagel bins created part of the wall separating the dining area from the kitchen work zone. I glanced at the rounders to get a feel for how they were made here. They were big enough, round enough, and fat enough to suggest they might be good. In fact, mine was very good. Firm, yet yielding skin, full of dry onion flakes, and a light, airy center with enough aeration to make the chew pleasant and an excellent base for the additions. The Swiss was cool and mildly nutty, and a perfect foil for the crunchy onions. All this satisfaction for only $3. My regular bagel stop comes in closer to $5. for the same deal. When I realized how good my late lunch was as I sat at my desk and ate it, I had a momentary pang of remorse that I had not remained in house to eat my surprise nosh, and perhaps picked up a few more for home. I will make it a point to return to Bagel Boys and perhaps take a longer look at the road that now seems heavily under reconstruction. Perhaps, better things await. read more

Went on Saturday at a quarter to 2 right before they closed. They still had a great variety of bagels, and were willing to cook me something off the grill- which I appreciate that close to closing time. The bagels themselves were great, and the speciality cream cheeses I picked out of the fridge all tasted fresh. This was one of the best bagels I've had in a while. read more

An everything bagel with salt on it is a sign of a truly fantastic bagel shop. On top of that, Bagel Boys makes a fantastic bagel. Slightly crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and fresh as can be even at noontime. I ordered turkey on my everything bagel, which was made with fresh, thinly sliced turkey and they stuffed as much of it onto that bagel as possible. Any more turkey and I'm not sure how I would have taken a bite out of it. Some might be disappointed by the one, thinly sliced tomato but I thought it was brilliant since it didn't cause my sandwich to slide apart. I also really liked the service. Not over-the-top friendly, but also not rude. The guy was polite but straightforward. This isn't the place to find out all the local gossip, but who cares when you can get an amazing bagel sandwich with a pickle on the side for less than $5? read more
