Well, I didn't think about it but I guess most places are closed on Sundays, except the Oliver Pecan Company. We were fortunate to not only find them open, but they knew more about pecans than you would ever think that there ever was. It was like talking to the Bubba Gump of pecans. The kid told us about all the varieties, the taste, how he liked them cooked or not cooked, come on Rainman, you have to shut up eventually but at the same time, I would not dare interrupt him because I want to see how long can this go. It was awesome. Regardless, we walked out of there with about 20+ pounds of four different varieties of pecan, pecan oil, candy, and other stuff. They seen us coming a mile away and we was buying.

There's a large shared parking lot, though there's a steep incline going up to and down from the lot from the street. Walking in, we were immediately greeted and self-identified as first-time visitors. We were given a quick tour of the place, where they made their chocolate by hand and their current selections of chocolate bars, toffee barks, and truffles. I particularly enjoyed the opportunity to try the different intensities of chocolate bits they had available as samples. Ranging from 50% to 100%, my personal favorite was the 90%. We ended up getting 2 mint truffles, 2 coffee truffles, and a small bag of toffee bark for $16 + tax. They don't taste too bad with a glass of wine we had later that day, though they weren't our favorite chocolates. Overall, this chocolate factory is still worth a stop in to check out the chocolate making process, by which they still use direct-sourced cocao beans from Ecuador. They are under new ownership, yet they plan to begin offering wine pairings and couples nights in Summer 2026.
