I was truly happy to see there is a Bahama bucks on the strip. There are tons of selection of shaved ice flavors and combinations to try. They are spacious with several tables and a view of the huge menu to select from. The flavor I decided on was Dreamcicle and it was delicious. The top portion is shaved ice orange Dreamcicle with condensed milk dripped on top and the bottom was vanilla ice cream. This treat was big enough for two people to eat. The day we visited was a non-peak hour, meaning the space was clean with no rowdiness. The two staff members were happy to assist with answering any questions we had. It wasn't even spring break or summer so I don't know if that was just an odd night or if this location is the teen hangout. This is a tough one. It was our first visit here and I've really been looking forward to it. When we got there they weren't too busy as it was around 60° outside and dropping. The perfect time to have ice cream or Italian ice. We spent a little while going over their quite extensive menu. For the first visit I went with one of their prechosen concoctions. If you want to build your own there are just way too many choices for me to jump in on my first try. I personally had a smoothie called Strawberry Bliss. It's a blend of strawberry and vanilla ice cream and topped with whipped cream and a cherry. It was truly excellent. My companions went a completely different way. One had the Nerds rainbow and the other one built their own with Tigers Blood and sour spray. They were all very good and I'm sure we will be back in the future. Now for my problems with the place. The staff this night was for younger people who spent the bulk of their time at the far end of the counter where they make the products and they were just chatting. They did not ignore the customers but there was no friendliness or greeting at all. On my other real issue with this place was that even though it was later in the day it was filthy. There's a line of booths along the one window and every one of them needed some serious cleaning. I was actually pretty horrified by the staff during the Thursday night shift. I love how FLUFFY the ice is and doesn't hurt your teeth when you eat it. The flavors are fun but be prepared to be sitting there making a decision for a few minutes but there are A LOT of choices. A very welcome addition to the area, and it fits in perfectly with the overall vibe of Margaritaville. No matter where we go for dinner, we always stop here for dessert. There are SO MANY flavors!! The blue cotton candy is a favorite of ours. Eventually we'll try everything on the list, except for maybe the pickle, yes there is even a pickle flavor. Bahama Bucks is a new franchise/store to me, but I'm definitely familiar with the shaved ice/snow concept. It's the way they shave the ice that makes this place stand out. That ice shaving machine creates such a smooth creamy texture like freshly fallen snow. They tons and tons of flavors from various syrups and natural flavoring. My favorite being watermelon. If you like sour, they have a whole line of flavors including War Heads! Top them with some li hing (dried plum) powder to enhance the sweet salty sour flavors, sweetened condense milk to pump up the creaminess, or chamoy to add more salty sour flavors! This part of Horizon West/Margaritaville area is growing so fast and Bahama Buck's is a welcome addition. The shopping center it is in is the perfect location.
