I've been meaning to get to the Energy Lab for a while, but finally managed it today, after heading out to see if I could shake off excessive ennui. The shop is small, attached to a bike shop, but comfortable and attractive. The cappuccino was perfectly made, very smooth; it reminds me of some of my favorite NorCal coffee shops. The coffee seems to be from Onyx Coffee Lab in Arkansas--this makes the second place I've seen in this general area using them (the other is Filigree in Hamlin), which is surprising. But it's great coffee. Service was friendly and quick, although I'm the only customer here right now.
Interesting menu. Inspired theming. Epcot vibes! Walking distance to historic downtown Clermont and located right on the trailhead to the waterfront park.
The Energy Lab is marketed as a European style cafe and juice bar. They offer exclusive tea blends, unique Origin coffees and all natural smoothies & juices. They also have a small selection of baked goods. My espresso was made to order and it taste amazing. I definitely enjoyed it. The cherry blush is also very good. I don't think that there is a bad item on the menu. It's a wifi free zone so that you are encouraged to mingle with your neighbors instead of checking emails or texting. That's a great idea but the three times that I visited I was the only customer in the restaurant.

The smoky flavor was faint which is great, because we don't particularly like overly smoky drinks. Overall, a pretty cool place with unique drink options. Make sure you check out their website before you decide to come hunker down for a work away from home vibe though.

What a great little coffee shop! Man, do looks deceive. At first you wouldn't think it was a coffee shop but thanks to Yelp, I realize it is a hidden gem. Came in on a Sunday and was surprised to see it empty only to find out they were closing shop an hour early due to the holiday (New Years) - oops !!! Even though we didn't realize it until our drinks were being made, the guys were super chill and not bothered that we were their last customers. With that being said, the guy at the counter was very chill and very informative on the coffee and product. I decided to get the Ethiopian Honey brewed coffee and Ethiopian coffee is very tasteful and strong. The way he brewed it was very like the starbucks clover machine and it was perfect so that one can get the full taste of the coffee bean and aroma. If you love coffee, for sure, you will love to try the different types of exotic coffee this cafe has to offer. If you come with a spouse, family and friend whom don't drink coffee, no worries, there's different options to chose from. My spouse got the sunshine smoothie and it was super fresh and delicious! I definitely recommend it. I want to go back to have some Ethiopian Banana bread coffee and enjoy it at the actual location during opening hours lol.
We are total regulars. We visit during the week and on weekends to get a fig bar, a green smoothie and the fancy coffee. Cyclists, runners and others come in to beat the heat and indulge in this $5 coffee (don't ask for cream or sugar & if you do, be prepared for the wrath of AJ). Nice team that works in the lab and they each have a super passion for good coffee, which we can all appreciate.
What a great little coffee house just off the bike trail in Clermont. It's a comfy location for sitting to catch up with others or just staring mindlessly out the window at the lake. There's a deck to sit on as well. The coffee choices are pretty spot on and they have some original concoctions to share. I indulged in a muffin on my visit as well. A little messy for eating but it was tasty. I'll be back soon I'm sure!
I've now visited twice and have been very happy each time. AJ, the barista of all baristas, was very helpful and engaging. He will offer to answer any questions you may have and he is very knowledgeable about differ types of coffee, beans, equipment and the process of creating stellar drinks. He is an awesome person! My husband and I have each tried something new when there. Last time I had a twisted iced coffee. At first I wasn't sure about it, but the lemon and coffee grew on me and it was a great drink after a hot bike ride. The previous time I had a coffee drink that had milk and orange to it and it was creamy and delicious. It was like a liquid dessert without being too sweet. The atmosphere is laid back and inviting. It has a great view to watch people going by on the trail. I can't wait to go back when it's not so hot and sit out on their patio and relax. Both times we've stayed for about an hour and never felt rushed to leave. There are couches as well as tables and chairs for you to choose from.

I unfortunately don't live in Florida, but every time I come back, I will definitely be making a stop here. Great way to celebrate National Coffee Day!!!

AJ, the barista, is very personable and clearly has a passion for his work; he goes above and beyond to make his customers feel welcome and educate them on the products. Wow, this is one of the best lattes that I have had in recent history. Very impressed with the quality of the drink. It is a rich full-bodied coffee Balanced with a nice creamy crema. Totally outstanding in every way! my brother was equally impressed with his bold green smoothie that was top shelf in his opinion. I wish I could take this coffee shop home with me to Metro Detroit as I would definitely be a regular at this business. I haven't left Orlando yet, but I'm already missing this business! read more

It has a great vibe to come sit and relax while drinking your morning coffee or tea and having the calmness of looking at the lake at the same time . The staff so far have been very friendly and helpful with questions about the town. read more

+Environment: Very clean and vibrant, especially with the warm colors and painted designs outside the building. It's connected to a bicycle shop, which doesn't add or takeaway from you experience since the cafe is in it's own separate space. It's not one of those hipster-rustic-brown-gray type of coffee shops, it's more bold and clean, especially with the display of their Steampunk machines. +Service: Very good service. The barista that took my order struck conversation very easily. The lack of wifi also forces visitors to connect with each other more. +Coffee: Good; my cup tasted a little more modern. I heard they rotate blends, so much you can't expect the same thing with each visit. Also, watching the Steampunk process always adds to the coffee experience. +Overall: One of the better coffee spots in the area. I like that it's a local coffee shop that's corky and fun without being tacky. It's a very clean, cool area with nice seating options. I'd go again. read more

Definitely a great experience. AJ is so knowledgeable about coffee and resourceful about coffee shops in various towns. I tried their Steampunk Brew. As AJ said the different floral notes come out work every sip. Absolutely must try. read more
I'm super excited that I just discovered this place! Don't be fooled by the cycle shop. They do cater to a lot of folks looking for a delicious juice, smoothie or coffee! They have state-of-the-art equipment and are very proud of their products. So far, I've had the recovery smoothie, a cappuccino and the date shake with a shot of espresso (highly recommend for espresso lovers)! The team there is very friendly and super helpful when picking out what you'd like. The cafe also has a trendy/modern vibe. One of my favorite parts is that it is walking distance from downtown clermont and it is across from a beautiful lake with walking and cycling paths (hence the cycle shop). Definitely check it out if you have the time. read more
Located inside the Bike shop is this gem of a coffee shop, if you are a fan of artisan coffee the energy lab is the place, high tech brewing methods paired with quality beans is s recipe for a fantastic cup of coffee, the Staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable , if you usually add cream or sugar , hold off until you taste it, you will be surprised how good it is just plain black, I would compare it to a fine wine. read more

I can't say enough good things about AJ and the Energy Lab! The coffee is some of the very best I've had (and I have no shame admitting to being a coffee snob who has had a LOT of different coffees). I love how knowledgeable AJ is about his product and that he always has excellent suggestions for what to try. Everything that I've had (cherry blush - a must try, nitro cold brews, steampunk hot coffee, and more) has been so smooth and flavorful without even needing to add cream or sugar. Seriously, this coffee is just that good! It's nice and quiet inside and they have a beautiful patio as well. read more

So I asked Yelp for "coffee" and lucky for me, Energy Lab Cafe came up. Without a doubt, the best recommendation I have had from Yelp. Ordered the Cherry Blush, which was amazing! Expertly constructed, it is the espresso version of the bourbon drink, Old Fashion. Bourbon infused maple syrup with two cherries on the side and one killer shot of espresso. The Slayer espresso machine performs like a Stratocaster in the hands of an expert. The barista keenly adjusted the pressure to create a gloriously smooth and robust shot. #bestcoffeeever read more

The Energy Lab is a great addition to the downtown area. We've gone many times and have had some of their smoothies, cold brew coffee, brewed coffee, and teas. Everything we've had has been wonderful but I always seem to go back to the Date Shake smoothie with espresso added, it's so good! The staff is always friendly and informative. I've heard they will be adding beer and wine to their menu as well in the future which will be nice for the evenings. Definitely a must try! read more
