He met us promptly at the airport within 5 minutes of our text. So much nicer than fighting the lines for the rental cars, or parking areas, and nice to be able to relax after our flight and not have to worry about the driving. For all my 80's folks, our only disappointment was that he didn't pick us up in KITT, and this car didn't speak, although she did have the latest technology! I would highly recommend this service.

We took a lovely train ride in a historic railcar from New Freedom to Glen Rock which is about a half hour. The conductor pointed out notable sites along the way. We then enjoyed a fabulous high tea at Table 1837 Glen Rock Mill Inn. There was so much to eat that we left with a doggie bag. There were only 3 choices of tea but the salted caramel was delicious. They had 4 finger sandwiches, 2 scones and fruit. We also received a grilled chicken salad as an entree accompanied by a glass of wine (there were 3 choices of wine. Originally we were offered mimosa but then they ran out of orange juice). For dessert, we had Pots du Crème. We boarded the train and headed back to New Freedom. I'd definitely recommend and intend on doing another event in the future.

Plenty of free parking right outside the gift shop/museum (handicapped parking, too). We browsed the gift shop first--lots of train-lover trinkets, and of course, Adventure Buddy snagged a couple of those irresistible 3D wooden train models. I was over the moon when check-in handed us oversized souvenir tickets--complete with our traincar and seats punched out. Such a fun keepsake! The small museum next door took maybe 15 minutes but was nicely done and staffed by a friendly volunteer. After a quick pit stop, we boarded the D. Reed Anderson car. The open windows made for a breezy ride past pretty scenery--green trees, a creek, even small towns like Glen Rock where folks waved from porches. Actors in full Civil War character moved through the cars during the ride, building the story of Union vs. Confederate soldiers battling over rumored gold. At times it was hard to hear or follow the storyline depending on where you sat, but the big skirmish at the park--cannon blasts, musket fire, and all--was definitely the highlight. Tickets were $31.99 and worth it for a few hours of history-meets-theater-meets-train ride fun. This is a great daytrip for adults (grab lunch before and ice cream after nearby). Kids would love the trains, but younger ones may struggle with the length of this particular event. We'll definitely be back in the fall for one of their seasonal rides!

I was very happy with my son in law's recommendation. My son in law recommended the value pack of tickets and it was well worth the price. I believe it was 62.50 per person. That entitled us to the battlefield tour in an air conditioned bus, and visits to three other tours-museums. I thought the price was great. Paul Bausermann was our tour guide and in a word- PHENOMENAL!! He was likable, entertaining, engaging, incredibly smart, had a great sense of humor and his timing was impeccable. I don't think anyone could hold a candle to his enthusiasm, vigor, and story telling. I learned so much about cannons, the battle, and those who fought. So many interesting facts- interesting that The Military Academy used to have seniors spend three weeks on the battlefield in order to graduate. Now they don't- what a stupid decision on their part!! Unfortunately I can't recall the name of our bus driver but he was excellent too! He did walk with a crutch and looked ultra professional in uniform- thank you!! He had been a driver for I think he said 50 years or so starting in the 1970's. They made a great team!!! As someone in the safety department, I appreciated his very safe driving! It's not easy maneuvering a bus that size into parking areas or along the road, but he made it seem pretty easy. I highly recommend this touring company. They are wonderful. I especially appreciate the abundant FREE parking!! It is nothing like the mess we have in Jim Thorpe, the money grab, congestion and parking nightmares in Jim Thorpe thankfully are not the case in lovely Gettysburg. I would definitely go on another tour with this company. They don't ask for tips but please do tip if you enjoyed the tour- I tipped both and they really appreciated it. If I could give a billion stars, I would.

Instead of a regular windsock this airport had a cute little airplane that said Gettysburg on it…read morethat moved with the direction of the wind. That was the highlight of parking here. There were no paved spots, just grass, which made it a little difficult to line up the plane. The fule farm was out of order (good thing we filled up before we got there and had enough to get back home!) And there were two ladies outside of the building that mentioned that it was locked and the noise that sounded like crickets chirping was actually an alarm was going off. We ordered an Uber but there were no shady places to wait so we had to stand in the sun since the building was closed. (Maybe they just aren't open on Sundays but I didn't see any business hours online so I'm not sure) It's a nice little airport that is a good spot to land and park your plane while you explore Gettysburg, but on its own, it didn't have much going for it.
