DO NOT USE THIS LANDSCAPING COMPANY! I found this landscaping company after they contacted me when I put in a request on Yelp for a landscaping project. Luis, the owner, presented him self as capable and knowledge and initially I was impressed as he reaffirmed his experience noting the had degrees in landscaping etc. I was hesitant at first because he didn't have many reviews out there, but I figured I would take a chance on him. I told him what I wanted (which was box woods planted, and flower bed cleanup). He also recommended other plants that he sent to me based on picture I sent him. After we agreed on what was going to be done, he sent me agreement and noted he would start the work. He finally came on Thursday 4/6 and honestly did a horrible job. (pictures are attached). He planted the box woods and they aren't even all the way in the ground. He didn't fully clean out the weeds in the flower beds as I requested and stated he would come back and do that. I also asked if he could do the extra plants he recommended. He said he would do all of the work he didn't do and the additional items on Thursday or Friday the next week. Apparently, ALL of his workers had the flu and they couldn't do the job (of course, I had to reach out to him because he was not upfront about it, he was just going to be a no call, no show). He said he could come out the following Monday or Tuesday to finish. Since I was not available Tuesday-Wednesday, I asked if he could do it Monday since we were already more than a week behind, and I actually had my AirBNB to get ready and work. He basically told me I need to understand I am not his only client! Even though I signed an agreement!! I told him I was disappointed and really needed it done Monday or I may need to go another route. So he confirmed he would be there Monday Morning. And of course, Monday morning came and went...I contacted him, he basically told me he won't be there until late evening. I reminded him he said he would be there Monday morning and he said he never said it...so I resent the same text message he sent me. That is when he began to be very unprofessional and disrespectful. I have included the full text message thread just in case you want to see how this escalated. He made me feel like my contract was not as relevant as the other contracts...which made no sense. He seems a little edgy, and premature to be handling business at this level. I would not advise anyone to utilize his services. I asked for a refund....he told me he would we fund me the cost of the additional plans less 30% because the nursery wouldn't take back flowers, which is fine. So that would have made the refund $217, he said he would refund me in 7 days (which is complaint with the agreement). I asked him today to make sure he send over the itemized breakdown because my attorney needed it for records, and he basically said, "Since you've mentioned an attorney, we will not be refunding the plants since there is no returns via my nursey, but will refund the mulch. You will have $140 refunded back to you. Thank You". So basically, he did a crap job, and never finished the original job I paid him for, then he got mad that I am a professional business woman and keep records and decided to reduce the refund we originally agreed to (which should have been way more). A civil suit for compensatory and punitive damages are going to cost him a lot more than the $77 he slighted me. It's a shame folks are out here this hard up for $77 that they are willing to ruin their entire reputation! At this point, its not about the $77...I don't even need it, its about the lack of professionalism, the breaching of contracts, and the mishandling of funds. And FYI...I have a PhD in finance...I'm not hurting financially (as the owner tries to imply)...lol. Also. Our only communication was via text after he completed the first par of planting the boxwoods. So any assertion of my tone was assumed from him as I did not physically talk to him anymore. Our backyard needed some help. Our dog had made a huge path from the gate to the deck. It was impossible to get grass to grow there, so we decided to get some landscaping done. This company was the first to reply and he was very professional and respectful. He came right over the next day. We went over what we wanted and he gave us a decent quote. In just a couple days materials were delivered and we were ready to go. They did a great job! It turned out even better than we imagined. If you're interested in having landscaping done, check them out. My one tip is, since they are so busy, especially during the spring, have patience. Don't be in a big hurry, trust the process. It's a constant battle against the weather too. Just know that it will get done and it will be amazing! Thank you for making our backyard awesome! read more

Total scammer, since I contracted with Luis Bailey he has changed the name of Baileys Landscape & Design. He gets you to pay half the fee up front ($950.) through Venmo, which I did in MAY, makes excuses, rain, covid, out of town doing other jobs, doesnt work on the weekend because he's a "family man," the last part actually earned him some respect, at first....when you tell him you want your money back he accuses you of being "hostile" and he doesnt have to refund you. I've reported him to Venmo and have contacted an attorney and will be taking this as far as possible. it's not about the money. read more

It's been over 2 months now, still waiting for it to be fixed AND for him to clean up the debris he left beside the road in front of my house! I had a similar experience as the homeowner who left a negative review. in our case, Luis provided a firm price based on several photos and then kept wanting to increase it. This was for trimming a single Japanese Maple tree. He required the "dump fee" be paid upfront, which I did. He and his gf (I think) showed up late saying they had a flat tire. Used my ladder and cut off just a few branches in less than an hour. For this he wanted the quoted $686 + the $200 dump fee. It was clear from our correspondence that he would also trim back a large branch from another tree that hung over the maple. However, he insisted that wasn't included in the price so apparently almost $700 only covers an hour of his time. I wasn't happy, and he knew it, but didn't care enough to fight about it so I made the final $686 Venmo payment based on his promise that once their tire was fixed the cut branches/debris would be picked up. They never were & he soon blocked my texts as well as on Facebook. My husband called from another phone and Luis picked up and promised he would be by the following week. That was about four months ago. I got someone else to haul off the debris and did get most of my $ back by filing a claim with Venmo. Dishonest and incompetent. EDIT: Luis' response is full of lies. I paid the entire fee, the work he failed to do was clearly in scope and I was not hostile. I've attached text messages showing all of that, proof that I paid the whole amount quoted including the dump fee, as well as photos illustrating how little he took off the cottonwood tree (which he clearly said in his text would be more than what he would take off the maple - see red circles showing the two "twigs" he removed from the cottonwood) and the absolute hack job he did on the maple tree. Now Luis is threatening me with a lawsuit for leaving an honest review. All I can say is stay away from this guy. He's bad news read more

First I wish we would checked Yelp before contacting this company and I use the term company lightly. If I could leave less than a 1 star I would and that's not even a reflection of his work rather the lack of professionalism, responsiveness and followup. We found this person on FB Marketplace (lesson learned, buyer beware) to do a small pool deck paver repair and drain install. We have a company that we have used a couple times before but they were a month out. It's landscape work so a lot of variables and that's understandable but we really needed this work done quickly prior to a summer pool party. With the party being on Saturday he assured he would be there the Monday before. He collected payment for material to the tune of $650+. Monday came and went with no timeframe and then the excuses started that I see other reviewers mention, sick workers, other projects, weather, etc. By Thursday he said he could be there Friday and Saturday to do the work, keeping in mind Saturday was the party and there would be 100 people in our backyard. After some more back and forth he offered to just refund what we had paid him. Sounds good right? We both agree to go our separate ways. After not seeing a refund and reaching back out more excuses started. First the lies, stating he has never had to do a refund which we know from other reviews isn't true and then his bank flagged it as fraud. Who accepts credit card payments and can't submit a refund. Time for a new bank or cc processor pal if that's the case. Then the sob story that his account was locked and couldn't pay his employees. The kicker was telling us it would be another 30 days before we would see the refund. So now I am going to pay my cc bill or let it ride and accrue interest for something I never received. In the end, a lot of the same tactics others mention like blocking numbers and such (so professional) and to use his word, hostile messages back to us. We generally like to support small businesses and prefer not to post these type of reviews knowing the irreparable harm they can cause a small business but after reading other similar Yelp reviews felt others should be aware. We will look at other options to get our money back be it credit card dispute or small claims court but all we can say is run from this "business". read more

Do not do business with this company! I had met this guy and had a pleasant experience like a couple of others upon the initial meeting. We agreed we could help each other grow our businesses. He said he knew leads that would help mine and told him I would recommend his when I had clients looking for landscaping. I never received any leads from him. I also contracted personal services with him for aerating and seeding. I signed a contract stating services would be performed in Feb, May and Aug and prepaid the entire contract. By mid-May no one had ever came by to provide services. There had been a few conversations...all excuses, valid or invalid, but I always initiated the conversation as opposed to receiving the customer service expected once services have been paid and schedules were not met. By this time he stopped answering my calls and text messages so I had to use another phone to get him to answer. Once he did, we agreed on a refund since he could not provide the services as contracted. He said it would take 2 weeks. As patient as I was waiting 2 months for the services in February to be completed, I was equally patient on the refund by waiting a month before reaching back out. He did respond and changed the story claiming his company is not at fault for anything, whether it be equipment, employees, or any other reason for not being able to provide services contracted. He also stated he does not provide refunds. I was blamed for backing out before services were completed and that I should understand that landscaping is booked out. In other words, I'm at fault for paying money for services not rendered within contract terms. If I had continued to wait to get service, when would it have happened? Would the entire reason I hired this company provided the desired results? I don't see how. I have had landscaping services before and it has never been like this experience. It has been timely and solid communications. Results met expectations. It was my intention to help a small company, but it's clear good intentions don't always work out well. read more
