It seemed like your average local grocery store. It didn't strike me as a chain grocery store. They had an OK selection of items for the size of the store. It was a bit cluttered and almost every single aisle had an obstacle in it and the isles were not super wide. Most long shelf life items especially if they were on sale or either out or very short supply. Prices were a little higher than Walmart but lower than Albertsons. I was surprised to find a decent selection of number 10 cans of freeze dried food at a price equal or slightly less to Walmart. Walmart is always out of stock so this was awesome! They also had Idaho cheese which I love and since I discovered it freezes well I'll always pick it up when I find it. Another happy find was a large package of bacon at a reasonable price. It's not something I need a A lot but given the current inflation I can foresee eating a lot of beans in there a lot tastier with some bacon in them! Best part of The experience was the cashier. Pounded incredibly thin with a crispy seasoned breading and on a fresh crusty bun. Honestly I miss that sandwich. Next time, we will see how the Reuben compares! I'm never coming to Boise again without hitting das Alpenhaus.
