I used DD catering 2 years ago when I got married in April 2024. Using DD was a refreshing change up from the traditional Chinese wedding food, but still familiar enough for the elders. Everyone enjoyed the mix of Vietnamese/Chinese food with a modern flair. Picanha steak and Pork Lechon were very juicy, tender and flavorful! Big hits with everyone in attendance. 3.5 stars I tried their catering service for my son's birthday. They were very response thru email , the food itself is tasty and guests enjoyed the food. The main issue is that the pork was supposed to be cut before delivering and they delivered the whole pork whole Pros - You can ask for tasting of the catering menu by paying for a fee and trying the dishes out at the restaurant. This would provide you the comfort of selecting dishes you have tried before making a big selection. - Large variety of options available in large and small trays. Large can feed 20, small can feed 10. The large trays are huge. - I asked for allergen labels and they provided those. Cons - The pork was supposed to be cut up before being delivered. It was not cut up and the venue only had a tiny paring knife. Imagine how hard it would be to cut up 2 trays of pork for 30 guests. - did not specify about requirement to have serving utensils available on hand. It's a sad reality that most folks come to your wedding hoping the food is decent. Well...it's been a month since our wedding in San Jose and the number one thing many guests loved about our wedding was the FOOD - it was a huge hit! The aunties and uncles and elders were taking back leftovers and people were literally coming up to us during the reception wide-eyed about the food and then immediately rushing off to get seconds. From the appetizers (lemongrass beef skewer was a fav) to the main protein entrees (duck, lobster, picanha steak) - every dish in D-d's expansive spread was on point and I wish myself I could have eaten more (bride and groom never get to eat enough). Me and my husband were so thrilled that people were full and excited by the cooking and flavors. I hope you believe me when my own friends were taking pictures of the food and posting on their socials and our online wedding album!? I don't think I heard a single person say they felt something was missing. Along with the helpful staff (thanks Adrian!) we also deeply appreciated the catering team - they were so friendly and cheerful and they were a wonderful part of our wedding experience. Ordering from D-D Delight for my son's baptism was simple as a text with the number listed on their website. They were able to provide helpful tips and recommendations on amount and types of foods we should serve due to food restrictions and allergies. From the service to the food to everything in between, they will take care of you like no other. I suggest you order 15-20 different dishes they have to offer in their catering menu because the entire cuisines were tasty. All of my guests compliment the different culinary creation, especially the Cajun Seafood fried rice/XO fried rice, we highly recommend getting a large tray of this delicious dish. We love asian food so our menu had a bit of asian fusion mixed in, and they nailed it. Guests raved about the appetizers and entrees. The Salmon, Lechon, Pho Briskets and Charsiu Sticky Ribs were also a hit. We had a good experience with DD Delight Catering for our wedding. They arrived on time, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. The food was good which is something I was worried about after hearing other people experience their wedding food. This was our third time using D-D Catering--first for my mom's birthday with party trays, then mine, and now my daughter birthday bash/graduation party. They've been wonderful each time, the food's tasty and service have been consistently great, which is why we went back. At our most recent event, some of the favorites were the shrimp mango salad, seafood toast, lion king style salmon, the carving station with dino ribs and lechon with made-to-order garlic noodles. Everything was flavorful and well-prepared, just like we remembered from the last times. One thing we've really appreciated is the option to have them cook on-site. It does make a difference--the food comes out even better, and it adds energy to the event. If it's within your budget, it's definitely worth considering. DO NOT BOOK THEM FOR WEDDING CATERING! And beware of all the fake 5 star reviews from profiles that only have one review. D-D ruined our elegant high end wedding. The bride selected D-D since she wanted to display her Vietnamese heritage, while also capturing American fusion for our other guests. The tasting went ok, but D-D refused to take any suggestions. For example, they insisted on doing fried chicken sliders, while we kept requesting mini chicken and waffle cones so it would be more elegant. Come day of wedding and our guests are at little cocktail tables trying to stuff a huge slider in their mouth. But it gets worst: - Catering is responsible for plates/cutlery rentals etc. We are missing almost $600 in rentals, and said we would help them with 1/2 of it, but they refuse to pay. - We ordered 30 meals for the staff and only received 10. They refused to reimburse us for what we did not receive. - For our surf and turf, they "forgot" to put the turf on a few plates and will not reimburse. - A bunch of our guests were missing one of their fish courses (they will not reimburse) - There was a worm in my food (see attached video) DISGUSTING. Aside from this, the food was just not edible and did not taste like the 2 tastings we tried at the restaurant. I am disappointed in their level of professionalism and cannot recommend them for any large scale event. At this time, they are even banned from working at Villa Montalvo (the wedding venue) due to their level of professionalism. We will be seeing them in small claims court to receive our reimbursement as we were missing what was on the contract and they basically ruined a near perfect wedding. read more

Our guests were raving about the food all night. The chefs were also nice enough to package the leftovers in containers for us and we had a ton!! The day went by so quickly and my husband and I felt like we weren't able to savor the food in the middle of all the craziness so it was so nice to be able to enjoy it the next day as well. What we appreciate about our partnership with DD is their openness to feedback, making modifications to menus to our liking, and ensuring good communication throughout. For this menu, we went for the che bar and buffet. It was great that DD's team already had experience working with our venue (Silver Creek Country Club) and were already familiar with our coordinator and the process on setting things up efficiently. We had about 250 guests (including our vendor meals) and everyone said the food was tasty and beautifully presented.
