Just be aware they wont give you an breakdown on parts and labor. Just spent an hour to change a sink trap and it was $417.00 parts were about 25.00 bucks if that. The rest labor! Very over priced!!!! Learnd my lesson wont ever use or recommend them at all. They also wanted $230.00 dollars to replace the sink drain plug which worked fine he said the nut look corroded. Didn't do that it was ridiculous.had to use them as it would be a $90.00 charge if i said no the quote. On social security was a hard hit for easy and less than an hours work. read more

We contacted Baker and Sons to address some known plumbing issues and evaluate other aspects of the home we recently purchased. TJ came out right away and spent significant time assessing issues and preparing an estimate. Alex and Rowan came the next day to do all the repairs and installation. They were professional, courteous and cheerful throughout. One task was the replacement of two outside faucets. Upon use that evening my husband discovered one of the faucets leaked. Alex came back that night to tweak it. The next day we discovered the dishwasher was unable to use water-- Alex came over to fix it. Finally, a couple days later we noticed some water on the floor next to the dishwasher. Again, Alex came back to check it out for us. Each time he was helpful and cheerful despite the extra stops and time. We are very happy with the service and follow up we've received from Baker and Sons. read more

This company significantly overharged my 79 year old Father. They charged him $1,151 to replace a toilet with an ADA compliant toilet, not an expensive one either, an American Standard like anyone of us can buy at a home improvement store. This was not an emergency service and took approximatley 2 hours for them to perform this service. They claim... since he agreed to the price they quoted him before they did this work, they will do nothing. Watch out for your parents, or for any senior citizen with this company, as it appears with other reviews written that they seem to have no issue whatsoever to significantly over charge them for services provided. I have asked for a breakdown of charges and they refuse to offer me any breakdown whatsoever. RESPONSE 12/28/2022 As I explained to you on the phone, based on your reviews it appears you clearly know when you're providing a proposal to a senior citizen as others have provided the exact same feedback. I am sure you would like nothing better than to directly deal with the 79-year-old man you already know you took advantage of. Also, as I previously told you., you are not to contact him, nor ever step foot on his property again, any questions can be directed to his family. So once again I ask you for a breakdown as I asked on the phone and in my review of the $1,151. The answer is you cannot and will not. My only assumption is your labor must be somewhere in the range of $450 an hour. I am amazed that your able to stay in business with such a high labor and overhead cost and able to compete with other reputable companies. My elderly mom called them for a leaking pipe under her disposal. They tried to sell her a $600 disposal and a $100 home appliance warranty. Who can afford this on a fixed income. Then it gets better....the guy starts questioning her about the hot water heater. No issues with this at all. He then try's to sell her a tankless water heater for over $5,000. A family friend happened to walk in and noticed something wasn't right and ask them to call her daughter. The guy pre approved her for a loan on the spot. She's 88 years old and the person from their office said your mom has been approved for this loan. I said she called with a leaky pipe. I said to have this guy leave her house now. I told my story to my friend today. She said they tried the same with her mom last month with a $3000 water heater. Don't prey on older people. So wrong. read more

We requested an estimate as we had a leak under the sink. Baker & Sons came out & gave me an estimate of $962 for a new garbage disposal and "parts" under the sink. Additionally, they informed me I needed a new hot water heater. The hot water heater they quoted me for retails for $500. Their estimate was $2900. When I called to ask them to break down that price, they refused and said they only charge "by job" & will not itemize or provide an hourly rate. read more

The instant the guy walked into the house he tried to up sell me on buying there product instead of installing the water heater I already bought. They were told when I scheduled the appointment that I had already bought the unit. They would not install the one I bought and their prices were $4000 more than the one I bought. The guy was also unprofessional and checked out my daughter while she was exercising. He started walking toward her and then said, Oh sorry I got confused which way to go. We had a emergency repair because a leak in a copper line. When we called after hours on a Friday they contacted us back within 10 minutes and they came scheduled our repair the following morning. The two gentlemen that showed up had face coverings on, which was very much appreciated with COVID-19. Before coming into our home they put disposable shoe covers so they wouldn't track in anything. They fully explained the problem and what needed to be done for repair and gave us a price before proceeding with repair. You should not price gouge. We had a water leak. Had them install a water heater we had purchased to replace. The technician was great, but he was here 1.5 hours(set a timer) and was charged $720. That is 480 an hour. That is ridiculous. Of course we got stuck paying it because it was 5 o'clock and we needed water. After they left I started to read reviews online and sure enough, biggest complaint with this company is they overcharge. Most companies charge around 65 an hour at top tier 480 is ridiculous. Will never use again. I have never heard of a plumber charging 500 an hour read more

This is the worst company that I have ever dealt with. I would recommend to anyone looking for a Plummer to stay clear of Bakers. They charged me $ 650.00 for a 2 hour job that they screwed up . I had to get another Plummer to come in and fix their mess. They left the job after the first day and said they would have to come back. By the way coming back would mean another $650.00. When I asked for an itemized bill they said that they just charge a set fee. I assume it doesn't matter if it's 1 hr or 10 it's $650.00. Biggest crooks I've ever met. read more

These people are truly exceptional. They have done our plumbing work for seven years or more and in two houses we have owned. Never a complaint. Always professional, prompt and effective. Most recently Justin installed a tankless water heater, a whole house water filtering system, and an RO unit in our kitchen. Exceptional work. On another occasion, after a very disappointing experience with Home Depot's installation contractors and their inability to install our new dishwasher, we called Baker & Son to complete the job properly. Lorence was at our house within a couple hours, and accomplished in an hour what the H.D. installers said they couldn't do at all. Baker just charged my 100 year old mother $1500 for a $700 water heater. They should be ashamed of their business.

My landlord hired them to fix some pipe issues under the house I rent. The did a half-assed job, took over a 1.5 hour lunch, and then didn't even hook up the new pipes to the kitchen sink properly. When the sink began leaking after hours doing the dishes, I called and they have no on-call plumbers, and could not even guarantee that they'd get to me in the morning. Call someone else. read more

Don't use Baker and Sons Plumbing!!!! Their 3 to 4 times the price of any other local plumber. I recently had a clean out done due to tree roots clogging the drain line. I normally use Thad Ellet Plumbing, but had to use someone else because they were booked that day. Thad Ellet charges a flat rate of $160 to clear a drain, where Baker and Sons charges $170 for the first hour and $72.50 every additional hour. Baker and Sons sent me a bill for $480! I called to inquire about the bill, and I was met with arrogance and disrespect. They made no apologies for their pricing and told me I didn't have a clue. Bush league operation - do NOT hire these guys. Paid $155 to have a sewer main line cleaned out on March 25th, on April 27th it was blocked again, and the city informed me that it was full of roots that the Baker and Sons had failed to clear the last time. So now sewage is backing up into the house. I dig out the receipt to call B&S to come back, and see stamped in big red letters on the receipt: NO WARRANTY ON SEWER/DRAIN LINE CLEANING. There's your first clue. I call them anyway, to see if they can make an emergency Saturday visit to fix what they failed to fix last time. A lady answered the phone who said she didn't know anything about the business or what they did or how, that she was just a paid phone service and that she was to tell the customer that they'd get a call back the next day, or next business day, she wasn't sure. We hired them a few years back to put in a new septic tank. They put the leach field in a bad place. We now have a pond that will not drain and is a mosquito trap. Baker and sons came out a few times after they put the tank in (as part of their contract) to check it. The plumbers kept digging a trench on to neighboring property (that at the time was for sale and was just a wooded lot) to drain the water out of the pond so that the septic tank would drain properly. The last time they came out, we were told that they couldn't help us with the draining situation unless we decided to buy the property for sale beside us. They also told us that old spot where the septic tank had been would level out after a year. It's been close to 5 years and we still have a large mound where the old septic tank use to be.
