I wish I had seen these reviews before taking my vehicles there. I am a loyal customer to Baker Auto and I was raised by a mechanic and auto shop owner. Tyler Burgess was rude during the first interaction I had with him for my first vehicle. I asked for him to give me the quote again as I didn't receive the paper and he could not be bothered to do so. There was a fee to diagnose the issue but since they were the cheapest and the diagnostic fee went toward the repair I went ahead and had it repaired with them. The second time Tyler was decent. The third time I came in for another vehicle and the price had gone up on the diagnostic fee. He claimed that he always tells everyone the fee is $110. No sir, you did not. Zero work was done. $110 for what? He started getting an attitude about it and I reiterated that he did not tell me and the fee is higher than last time. As I am leaving he says to drive carefully. How? They took nearly all my money! I am a single mother on disability. They literally took the food out of our mouths. This all could have been prevented with a sign at the counter and a friendlier employee to apologize and I would not have wasted my time or money going when I did. If you are a single mother, disabled, or even just a human being, don't go there! I frequently post positive reviews for many companies but sadly, I cannot give one. read more

Charged me $150 for telling me my husbands truck would go 200,000 miles without being repaired. The apparently didn't know what was wrong with it and didn't want to deal with the extended warranty company. The truck is at the Ford dealership being repaired under the extended warranty. Don't waste your time going here. read more

I took my car in back in February to get the air conditioning repaired. They allegedly replaced the compressor, condenser, etc. I was charged over two thousand dollars!! Fast forward to the first week of June and my car is in another shop (of course) for guess what? Air conditioning is out. Thanks for nothing but a lighter wallet read more

I have never Been treated so rude in all my life. The guy Tyler must have something against women or his job. He demanded I wear a mask when none of the employees other than the women had masks on and told May I needed to step outside I found a mask in my purse and put it on he was rude to other people coming in the door when someone said thank you he just says hmm. After my service which was OK I'm not unhappy about it it was a fair price and they got on it fairly quickly but I will not be back due to the way this man treated me I did complain after I got my bill to the guy behind the desk and told him that he had been nice to me but the other guy was a detriment to their business and he needed to go in this day when everyone is stressed and doing all they can Keep a good attitude this guy field I am more than happy to refer people anywhere that people are treated good but I will never refer anyone to this company and the company that referred me to them I will call them and tell them not to refer people to them based on this jerk read more

AAA towed my car to Baker Auto Repair after the engine blew out while traveling through the Beaumont area on I-10. Baker Auto Repair could easily have taken advantage of the situation because we were at a loss for what had happen. However, they advised us that the problem was 1) potentially very expensive to repair, and 2) likely covered under the manufacturer's warranty. It turns out they were absolutely right. We got the car to the nearest dealership for my car; the repair will be covered 100% by the warranty. Thank you Baker Auto Repair for being honest! read more

Watch out for these guys. I am a mechanic myself, and knew exactly what I needed done (cap, rotor, wires and plugs), but didn't want to do it myself. So I took it to them--and got an "estimate" for over $1200 for MAF sensor, O2 sensor (which had been changed the year before), and much else. I picked up the vehicle, put the cap/rotor/wires/plugs in it, and it runs fine. BEWARE--THESE CHARACTERS ARE NOT HONEST! read more

My husband and I have both had our vehicles worked on at this shop. The owner has helped my husband several times and is always friendly and honest. The work has always been done quickly and correctly. They never try to get us to pay for more work than necessary. We highly recommend this shop!! read more

My mom brought her car here to of course see what was going on with it, so they charged her $88 for the diagnosis, understandable. The car was left there all weekend long leaving my mom && myself without any transportation, ok again no biggie. Finally get the car back and it seems to be running just fine but then it starts doing the same thing it was before about a week later so I call to make sure the service is still under warranty && was told yes it was and to bring it back to them so they can see what's going on. I explained to the gentleman that we have a crazy work schedule (my mom, me, or any other family member that could bring it back) && asked if I could bring it by in a day or two cause my mom has to go to Houston for a Dr's appt && was told yes. Bring the car back && spoke to a different gentleman that said it would take over 3 hrs or more to even look at the car && that the electrical work that was done was not warranted!!! HOLD UP...I was just told the work was warranted now I'm being told it's not!! So I politely asked him if he just took $300 from my mom because she was a female && elders because I was given different stories!! Well needless to say my mom's car is still not working correctly && now I'm gonna have to come off more money to have her car worked on AGAIN because they would not keep their word or honor their warranty!!! TERRIBLE SERVICE. Terrible attitudes, poor communication between staff, horrible customer service. When I asked to speak to the owner, it took over 20 minutes and he REFUSED to speak with me in privacy and forced me to have the conversation over my service in the lobby. When I asked to speak to my mechanic so he could explain the services that he preformed on my car, they REFUSED. They made silly analogies when explaining (I am a female) and talked to me like I was stupid the entire time. I went in with a complaint about my brakes and they did not do what would have been a typical check on them. Instead, they checked one area and charged me 90 dollars for it. Also, I was told over the phone that the additional labor to locate the problem would cost me 265 dollars and when I talked to my personal mechanic, he agreed that that was overpriced for what was needed to be done. I was also told one thing over the phone and something completely different in person. They also told me that if I didn't like what they were doing that I should "take [my] business elsewhere" and that is exactly what I will be doing. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!!!!! read more
