After a "thorough" inspection, I was told the entire A/C system needed to be replaced. The technician even joked that at least I wouldn't have to pay since it was a company truck, pointing at the magnets on the door. When I explained it was my personal vehicle, he "took another look" and suddenly said I only needed a new condenser and recharge at about half the price. That didn't sit right with me, so I paid the diagnostic fee and left. After talking with my wife, she told me about Bill's Garage in Port Neches, a shop highly recommended by her co-workers. I brought my truck there and spoke with Ricky. Even though they were extremely busy and couldn't get me in for a couple of weeks, he took a few minutes to look at it in the parking lot. He had me start the truck and turn on the A/C. When nothing happened, he reached in, tapped the fan a few times, and immediately the truck started blowing cold air. He explained there was nothing wrong with the condenser. The real issue was the radiator cooling fan or fan clutch not providing airflow at idle. He told me he could fix it for around $250, but also suggested I could buy the part myself for about $100 and replace it on my own. I did exactly that, and it fixed the problem completely. Fast forward to last August, I purchased a 2022 Chevy 2500 HD with about 45,000 miles from a Chevy dealership. Recently, I brought it back to the dealer for what I believed was a radiator leak. I was told it wasn't covered and was quoted $1,800 for a new radiator, along with a diagnostic fee. Once again, I took it to Bill's Garage. They pressure-tested the system and found the radiator was fine. The actual problem was a leaking A/C condenser, a far less expensive repair they could handle quickly. Over the years, I've trusted Bill's Garage with my vehicles, my wife's, and my kids'. They have consistently proven to be honest, fair, and highly skilled. I won't take my vehicles anywhere else.

All said and done, more than I wanted to spend but I still feel he was very fair in his pricing. Been driving the van for a few days now and am very happy with the results. Plus, I have the peace of mind knowing I won't be chewing up my tires every few thousand miles. Just as a side note. I did research Cortez Car Care and discovered something amazing. They have been members of the BBB for 23 yrs this year and have not had one single complaint lodged against them in all that time. I have a 2003 Porsche 996 (911) I went to Vin's Paint & Body Shop and Bradley's collision place first and both places gave me an estimate of $1500.00 to repair (paint) my center console and front bumper. Savants gave me an estimate of $650.00 I was worried about the discrepancy but decided to give the work to Savant's Collision Center. They did a fantastic job! The paint jobs are awesome! They even fixed my reversed wiring for my windows! Oh and they gave me a ride from and to my house after I dropped off my car. Chris was very professional and stuck to the agreed price estimate. I read the reviews from previous customers and decided to make the drive to Beaumont (67 miles) to have a Check Engine Light evaluated on my VW TDI. I got there at 0730 Monday after driving through some nasty rain. First, I was able to drive into the service area, out of the rain and was pleasantly greeted by Andrea who said they would try to work me in since I didn't have an appointment. I was able to wait comfortably in their well stocked waiting area. I had internet, tv and a quiet place to relax. There were several customers who had appointments that were promptly taken care of. I was glad to see that they were taken care of quickly. Everyone there was super nice to me while I waited. I had settled in thinking I was going to be there awhile but Andrea approached me after about 2 hours and said my car was done, they had replaced 2 glow plugs which were covered under warranty (2012 Jetta) and there was no charge. This experience made my early get up, nasty drive and not knowing what the problem was very pleasant. I would definitely go back for service and will plan on shopping there for my next Volkswagen.
