Service was a bit slow in the sense we were told hot water would come as soon as we flip the lid but it didn't. The scones tasted stellar. The sandwiches were mid. There were more sweet desserts.

So he drove us into Banff NP. We stopped at Lake Louise, Johnston Canyon, Vermillion Lakes, the cascade falls, and then we began driving to the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. What an absolutely beautiful hotel in one of Nature's most breathtaking masterpieces. The beautiful earth-toned cream colored hotel climbs from the lower mountain side and stands beautifully amongst the tall pines surrounding it. We made our way to the Vermillion Bar, where are post worked back in his college days, and were greeted by a super sweet server, Ayala, who lit up whenever she laughed and smiled with you. We enjoyed cocktails, beef, tartare, veggie Credit, charred, avocado, and a unique presentation of hot wings I've never had before - the actual wing that has two bones in it was pre-cut down the middle so you were served the 2 halves as their own individual wing. Great flavors and it was very unique and enjoyable. All of it was delicious and undeniably yummy, and fairly priced for such an elegant location. We were expecting a much higher price point and were delightfully surprised to see that even though it is a luxury location, it was not price gouging or ridiculously inflated that one often finds in so many other locations that are "elegant or nice". If you have the opportunity to treat yourself to a very beautiful sunset under the majestic Mount Rundle, and want to enjoy a modern setting in a historic landmark, this is absolutely a visit you must make while in Banff National Park. Thank you Ayala for treating us so well, and sharing your sweet Australian journey with us. Chris, David, Trisha, and Keith

We've had the pleasure of visiting fantastic bars in a lot of places but Rundle Bar is special. The service level is as good as it can be. The staff makes you feel like you're in their home. They're incredibly attentive but not annoying. We had great conversation with many of the them and they genuinely care about you having a memorable experience. The views on the patio (alfresco terrace) are as epic as it gets with views of the breathtaking mountains everywhere you look. It's been named the best patio in Canada for years and you will see why when you walk out of the beautiful Rundle Bar onto the patio. The menu is made up of classics and signature creations. I had the Ember which is an old fashioned variation made up of high quality spirits and an infused maple syrup it was one of the best cocktails I've had in a long time. It didn't hurt that it came with a smoke show. It was so good that I have to create a separate post with photos and videos vs. detailing it here. Trust me, it's gorgeous!!! Banff has been on my list forever and I finally visited. The Fairmont Banff Springs hotel was equally a place I needed to experience and it didn't disappoint. The Rundle Bar was a bonus I wasn't expecting so make sure you make time to visit this magical place when you finally check Banff off of your list. I'm definitely going back with my beautiful wife because we have to experience it together. You need to go. Salute @thejohnnycocktail

The floors were a bit squeaky, and the lock needed to ne replaced. It took at least a minute of fiddling each time we went back to our room (as if we were trying to break in), which was frustrating. The cleanliness was adequate, but you could see thick layers of dust behind the cabinets and o the edges of the wall. The balance was so old that the lights were out in thr bathroom the whole night because of my use of the hairdryer supplied in the room. Buffet breakfast was also decent for the price, wenliked that the menu changes daily. Service wise, half of the staff seemed to be diligently working- clearing tables and filling up the buffettable, but the other half would chat loudly continuously by the entrance without making eye contact or greet the guests.

Quick walking access to Lake Louise. 2. Above average food and bar. Yes, you can do better, but at a higher price point and usually with at least a 45 min drive. 3. Good parking, which is an issue in the area. On the "I can deal side," but maybe a minus depending on what you are looking for: 1. No AC. Usually not an issue, but for our first two days it was high 80's Fahrenheit/low 30's C. Had to keep the windows open. 2. Sound. Rushing water from the nearby stream. We actually liked that. The building is old, so anyone moving, especially in the floors above you makes a creaky sound. 3. Wifi was weak. Cell service was spotty in the area except in town. We were trying to get away, so no big deal for us this time. 4. No tv. Also no big deal this time for us, since we were trying to be offline/low tech. Overall: would def stay here again and interested in checking out the other Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts.

Perfectly cooked, insanely flavorful, and worth every dollar. It's also dope that they let you choose your own steak knife, which adds to the whole experience. Adam was hands-down a big reason the night was so good -- he helped with drink recommendations, set the tone, and really tied the entire dinner together. And do not skip dessert -- the 1888 Sundae is absolutely worth it. I could honestly eat two by myself. Great food, great service, would 100% come back.

We ordered the scallop dish which arrived quickly but it's not a filling dish. While we were waiting, we decided to order the milk bread so that we could eat it while we wait for the main course. The milk bread also took long to arrive though. I like that they can make any drink here. This place had the best espresso martini I tried while I was in Banff. They just can't make a pina colada because they don't have a blender. I highly recommend the ribeye. You get a lot of meat for what you pay and it was delicious. There's not a strict dress code enforced. You can dress up or be casual. I wouldn't recommend dressing too casual but I did see people arrive in very casual outfits such jeans, knit sweaters and a santa hat.
